On 3/21/16 I had new tires put on my car. Immediately afterwards, I took the car to RadAir because the power steering rack, front lower control arms and tie rod ends needed replaced. After the repair an alignment was also performed. On 8/10/16 I took the car to have the tires rotated. I was informed both front inner tires were down to the wear bar and almost the cords and needed replaced. This was just under 4000 miles after the repair and new tires were installed. I bought and installed 2 new front tires as I was told it was a safety hazard to be driven on in their condition. I took the car to another alignment shop and was informed the alignment: left toe was -.47" and should have been .05". The right toe was -.41" and should have been .05". That is what caused the tires to wear out in less than 4000 miles. I first talked to Doug at RadAir in person with the ruined tires for inspection. He took my information and told me Ive have to talk with Mike the owner but he was out of town for a few days. I called Mike today 8-18-16 and was told since I didnt take the car back to them before having any other shop look at it, he wasnt responsible. I told Mike, I was informed that the car was unsafe to drive without the tires being immediately replaced. Mike said I should have had the car towed to his shop and that since I did not, he was not going to do anything about it. The 2 new tires to replace the new tires that had less than 4000 miles on them, cost $330.72. The new alignment was $69.23. So after paying RadAir $415.09 to make the initial repair which included $59.95 for an alignment that was incorrect. Mike the owned of RadAir is saying Im now out another $399.95 to fix their mistake. Mike the owner was very dismissive about the whole situation only saying I didnt give him a chance to fix it before taking the car elsewhere. I asked him repeatedly how could he fix ruined tires other than by replacing them, which he refused to do. I am pursuing legal action in small claims court to recoup my loss. Be advised, the lack of accountability and lack of professionalism demonstrated by Mike the owner speaks clearly about his shop.

I am very skeptical of commercial garages. In the past, I have had two different “shade tree” mechanics work on my cars. Neither of these two fellows is working on cars anymore. I had a fluid leak on my 2003 Honda Accord. This car is a tank and doesn’t just leak fluid. I looked for the leak and as best I could tell, it was antifreeze, possibly from the water pump. The car has 194,000 miles on it, so it would be reasonable for the water pump to need replaced. I also thought that since the water pump would be off, it would be a good chance to change the timing belt. Now all I needed was to find someone to do the work. I had noticed the new to the area RadAir garage and decided to give them a try. To say I am more than pleased with their service is an understatement. I contacted the garage and told them the problem I had and what I would like done. The first thing they did was call me back and tell me Honda does not recommend changing the timing belt unless there are actual issues with it. After dropping my car off (and getting a loaner car from them), they called back and said the water pump was not bad and the fluid was from a leaking clamp and hose. They suggested changing the spring clamps with screw clamps, replacing any dry rotted hoses and changing the coolant. They also changed a power steering tube that was corroded. The store bought tube was overpriced and so RadAir bent a tube for about a third of the price. A repair that could have been blown up to well over $1000 was a $200. RadAir offers the perks of a commercial garage, like loaner cars, with the honesty and pricing of a good shade tree mechanic. I highly recommend them for any car service you may need.

I have been going here for about 3 years and always had a good experience. Tires, tuneups, starters, brakes, alternators, suspension ect ive had most everything done here. They have rental cars that makes it convenient for me to drop off my car for service and not be stuck without a vehicle while its being worked on. I can do alot of the work on cars myself so i know what Im talking about, and that i can trust these guys. I just usually dont have the time to do alot of my own work or id rather be doing other things than be elbows deep in the greasy dirty parts of a car.

Great team of mechanics. Great people in general. They want to earn your repeat business, so they treat you right from the beginning. I will continue to recommend Rad Air, Amherst to everyone for simple maintenance to actual repair work. 5 stars.
