After dealing with Riverview Tire & Auto for 5 years, I thought I could trust them. How wrong was I? I was having car trouble so I took my car to Riverview Tire & Auto. They looked at my car and said the problem was the timing belt. I found it odd that I needed a new timing belt because they had already replaced my timing belt in March of 2008, and they would not normally need to be replaced so soon. At any rate, they put on a new timing belt (which I gave them the okay to do) and the car still would not run. They then removed the head cover, which they should have done the first time they replaced my timing belt, to see that the head gasket had a hole in it. When the timing belt broke in 2008, it actually cracked my valves, but because they did not check the valves to see if they needed replaced at that time, the friction caused my head gasket to get the hole. Had I found out at that time that the valves were cracked, it would have saved me time and money and also saved me from needing a new engine. They called me in 2 weeks ago to look at my engine (like I have any idea what Im looking at) to tell me that I need a whole new engine and that it would cost me $2500! I told the manger that I would get an engine elsewhere and they could put it in for me. He quoted me $790.00 for the labor. I gave him a verbal okay for the labor of putting the new engine in for me. I got the engine, called Riverview tire and informed them that it was on the way. The newer engine has 60,000 miles and everything was included on it. I had another mechanic check out the engine prior to delivery to make sure the engine was good so that all Riverview Tire & Auto had to do was drop it into my car. Just to be sure, I asked the manger if by chance, the new engine needed a timing belt, how much would it cost. He quoted me $300. I told him that was too much to but a timing belt on an engine that is outside of the car. His reply was, I will call you when I get the engine and let you know what, if anything needs to be done. My response was, Okay, I will wait for your call. Four days go by and I get a call saying my car is ready. I go in today to pay for my car and he tells me that its going to be $1200.00 + taxes! He said they had to put a new water pump on, new spark plugs, a new timing belt and a whole list of other things that I never gave him the permission to do. I expressed my dissatisfaction with this and his reply was, One, I thought you knew we would be doing this work. Two, I have already given you free labor on the first timing belt that we put on. And finally, I can knock off $200.00 because I didnt call you to inform you of the work that was being done. I let him know had he called me prior to doing the work I would have told him not to do it because I would have taken my car elsewhere at that point. He took it upon himself to do knowingly do unauthorized work and now he wanted to charge me for it. Im not asking him to work for free; I just want to pay him what he said it would be. I dont have a problem paying him the$ 790 he quoted. I called Action News, they told the reporter they had an estimate of 1294.00 with my signature (the signature was from the BLANK paper they have you sign when you drop your car off, but I cant prove it since I didnt get a copy of the blank paper, but they KNOW good and well I didnt sign an estimate at ALL), but would accept 790.00. When I got there, they told me that they "dont remember talking to the reporter" and made me pay 1094.00 to get my car back (they knocked off 200.00). I will be filing a lawsuit.

I had 3 bad experience with them and my boss also has had a very bad experience. They will take the car and fix it very quickly, but at the same time they will break something else in the car. This is how they make money. I had my car brakes fixed there. They took USD600, but as I was coming home Brakes strated making noise and they said calipers are bad now. All of a sudden perfect calipers went bad after they fixed the brakes. Then yesterday my other car was not starting. I took it there and they said its a relay. They fixed it in an hour. I came back home and started the car next morning. To my surprise headlights did not turn on. I tried to open the hood, but the latch was broken. I called them up and left the car there. They fixed the head lights, but at the same time they messed up the wiring and my AC stopped working. Now my car is without AC although they fixed the fan later. Then when I picked up the car I saw that the front bumper was coming off. I asked them how it happened and they said they dont know , they are not responsible and did not want to talk anything about it. There owner Mr.John is really unconsiderate when it comes to fixing there own mistake and will blame everything on you. Please run as fast as you can. Just a warning for you guys. Take your car to dealership. It will cost a little more, but you will have peace of mind.

Honest! My car wouldnt start and cranked weakly. 2010 car. I thought it was the battery, that I had bought at AutoZone in Riverview a few years ago. Called AutoZone, they said I had a month left under warranty, but come down and they would make sure it was the battery. I jump started the car and drove to AutoZone. The asst. manager came out to test it. The battery appeared to bet wet on the sides, but it was at night. Asst. manager tested battery and said the battery was GOOD. He said, Ill test your alternator, tested it and said, Its your alternator. The next day I call around for prices for an alternator on my 2010 car, dealer is $400 just for the part not including labor. Advance auto has the alternator and is $184, but a difficult job to change on my car. I call RIVERVIEW TIRE AND AUTO, they gave me a price of $413 for the part and labor to change alternator. I take the car there. They check out the car and say, Its the BATTERY. They change the battery and car runs fine, checks out fine. Riverview Tire and Auto could have changed the alternator and battery, and I would have just expected both were bad. They are HONEST. Ive been here years ago with other cars and they have always treated me right. Thank you, Riverview Tire and Auto.

Bought new tires and from day one were never aligned correctly apparently as they were chopping. Told them about it at first rotation and was told to not worry. Took vehicle back to have them address issue again after only 12,000 miles (two rotations which they did and saw my vehicle each time) (Also of note all suspension and joints had been replaced prior to new tires being put on and had the work verified by another service center). Had to spend 30 minutes standing ground insisting on getting new tires as the ones I had were all chopping on outer edge. They finally made it right by getting me 4 new prorated tires. When leaving the shop my vehicle was shaking. I took the 4 new tires to another service center and had them check the balance of tires and they were not even balanced right. (another $40 at another shop) So needless to say the alignment rack must be off as well as the balance machine or the techs just are not that skilled. The fact they did get me prorated tires (still cost $100) gave them 2 stars instead of 1. The tire prices were decent as well. Save yourself the aggravation. If you are in Riverview, and want a good service center, I found one. message me and I will send it to you.
