The short of it is if you live near this shop, use it. Its a rare find today. Heres the long of it: I feel fortunate that, if my car had to break down 50 miles from home (Sarasota) on a Saturday, at least luck had it that Brandon Meineke was the closest shop. For a single woman with zero knowledge of cars, needing a mechanic falls just below going to the dentist and just above jail time, at least for me. Im a careful person. I check reviews, but even those can be fudged. Still, this place had good reviews, and it was the closest shop. Aside from the fact that Sal and his brother (I dont know his name) are really nice guys, they have a fan club. Every person in the waiting room -- and there were several over the hours I was there -- was a repeat customer. All of them (and I asked) had good things to say about these guys. They stood behind the work they did on my car, even replacing a part that failed -- at no extra charge. Not only that, but the place had the feel of the mechanic shop my dad went to when I was a kid (as in Sal asking customers "can I give your ride home?" Or being able to drop a car off at his house on your way out of town for the weekend). Because my car was staying over at their shop, I was also asked if I needed a ride somewhere. Long story short, I really wish I could use the shop.

I decided to try Meineke because I had a coupon for an oil and filter change. I drive a Lexus and normally drive all the way to LEXUS OF SARASOTA for this service, because they are truly outstanding. However, because I had a coupon and this was closer, I decided to save some money by going there. Well, as it turns out, with all their "add-ons" the oil and filter change ended up costing more, $10 more, than what they charge me at LEXUS. They added extra because they said I need a "circular filter", they added extra because they said I needed an additional can of oil, etc etc. BUT THAT IS NOT THE WORST PART OF IT. They messed up my driver side mirror! After the oil and filter change it vibrates noisily for 30 seconds each time after I start the engine. I drove back there less than an hour and asked about it. The guy said he must have pushed something by accident when he was trying to reset the indicator light. I took my car to the LEXUS dealership, and they said this was not true, that what happened was they must have hit my side view mirror and loosened something to cause the vibration. LEXUS took it apart and tightened and fixed what was knocked out of place. I was thinking about reporting Meineke to the BBB.

I just had my car aligned at this location today and was pleased to hear returning customers come in and out of the location. The customers seemed to have a long term service relationship with the location given the interaction with the brothers who represent the business on a daily basis. The gentleman that quoted me for my services was very polite, very professional and very much made me feel comfortable in getting my car serviced here. His brother, who I believe is the manager, asked me about my interest in other car maintenance services outside of what I requested, but I at no point felt pressured in a negative way as I have in other places. As a woman who has first hand experienced car shops try to take advantage of her because they think she doesnt know any better, I find the customer service of the gentleman who helped me decide to bring my business to this location a breath of fresh air. That integrity is what keeps customers coming back, as was proven with the people who I witnessed obviously entrust their car needs to these gentlemen more than once. I will definitely keep this place in mind for my future car needs as their prices are also very competitive. Thank you for your help!

I have been going to Meineke in Brandon since I moved to FL 7 years ago. Sal and Salim have always been up front with me on every repair and make an effort to give me alternate option if my wallet contents do not get me back on the road, especially with my high mileage 95 Neon. As a few others mentioned they have performed minor repairs out of courtesy of our continuing relationship. They also stand by their repairs 100% if something doesnt quite get fixed the first time due to secondary systems. I even have my hard to please in-laws going there for repairs...sorry Sal...but they keep going there, so they must be pleased. The most important service I get there is that they treat my wife with the same respect they do me...many mechanics treat women like they are totally dumb and will try to take advantage of them...not here. I also notice that they keep up with their current certifications and learn new skills to increase they services that they can provide. Go here first...dont bother with the other chains on SR60.

These guys are honest, polite and hard working! While waiting a couple of minutes, a lady was finishing up getting an A/C problem worked on, but they couldnt find the leak. They explained that they added dye, charged it up, and told her to come back when it quits again, and then theyll be able to find said leak; all that work for no charge! As for me, I was told by a dealership that I needed new brake shoes (old truck with rear drum brakes, and I didnt want to mess with it). They took a look, and called to let me know that while a little dirty, the drum and shoes were fine with over 50% of life left. I had them go ahead and clean and adjust em, and that saved me over $120! And the brakes feel like theyre brand new! It is great to know that there are still good car mechanics out there, and Meineke of Brandon is one of them! Thanks, Sal!

The guys at my Meineke location are amazing. They are always extremely fast, can answer my questions, let me know exactly what to expect. I never feel uncomfortable or like Im getting taken advantage of. They dont pressure me to do more than I need to. My favorite experience was when I first took my car there after getting a coupon for an oil change. They noticed a tail light was out. I had actually taken my car to the dealership 4 times because of that tail light and last I heard was going to have to replace the harness for 400 dollars. Sal took a look at it for me and found a little spring that wasnt reaching where it needed to. After wiggling the spring, the tail light was fixed. They didnt even charge me anything and I havent had a single problem since then. I will never go anywhere else for my car troubles.

I just started taking my van to Brandon Meineke moved here from Fl. and my work van needed much work Sal and his team are awsome they are the only mechanics trust my van with. My van is my support as I use it for my business. My van has very complicated equipment that needs routine maintance and the Meineke crew took the time to make sure everything was done correctly. they are honest and deliver top quality service and I can leave there feeling confident that my van is going to be repaired correctly and for a fair price. I have had wiring, air conditioning problems, modifications with batteries. etc. They took the time to work with the people that installed equipment so they could fiqure it out They can do it all. When they told my there was not much they couldnt repair they were right!
