I usually dont do reviews (i just read them and enjoy them) But this LA Fitness in particular is by far the worst gym i have ever stepped into. It is down right filthy! The locker rooms look like they havent been cleaned in days and smell horrid! Dont let me get on the equipment how disgusting they are. If that alone doesnt make run, the broken partially functioning equipment definitely will. Covered with old sweat and whatever else people here put on them. I hardly ever see anyone cleaning and the times i do see someone hes standing around having "meaningful conversations" with the female patrons. Im convinced they only have one pair of clamps for the barbells at least my 5 min search didnt find any. Ive been to the one in Brooklyn,OH and never had any complaints about that facility. But considering i am an east side resident that is not an option. I will be looking for another gym because MRSA and Staph infections arent things i look for as amenities when joining a gym!

I dont go around posting negative reviews. In fact i prefer not to post things and give places a chance. But Im doing this in hopes they actually do something about it. I have belonged here for 6 years and it is steadily gone down hill. I live in another city now but come here often when im in town. I went today and it smelled really bad in the locker room. I dont understand it. It is just not clean. I know they dont charge much, but I dont understand. As far as equipment goes, specifically, i have mentioned to them four times in recent years that the Concpet2 rowing machine they have, the chain is stripped and the feet straps dont stay in place and someone is going to get hurt. The same machine is still there, unfixed. I still work out there because its a cheap membership when im in town, but clean this place up, for all the guests, please.

I am a member here at la fitness but at this time im very unhappy with the pool! there are no signs up to alert people to take a shower before entering the pool. i made a complaint last october 2013 and here it is april 2014 and still no signs people just jump in with all kinds of body lotions, sweat, dirt from normal activity and fecal matter from possibly not washing after they use the restroom. this kind of actions are very unhealthy for any pool! bacteria infections can happen this is a serious health risk for everyone. yes we understand everyone knows the hazard but if la fitness does not take action the problem will only grow bigger. corporate needs to be aware and pictures should be shown of the locker room and walk way to pool the water is often cloudy, that means it is contaminated. by all means its not hard to enforce public safety.

IF YOU HAVE KIDS!!!! MAKE SURE U GO TO THIS LOCATION FIRST AND CHECK IT OUT FOR UR SELF.U DONT WANT TO PAY 10$ PER CHILD FOR THEIR SERVICE .Canceled my membership after 2 weeks of coming to this location. I originally signed up at the Brooklyn location, then i moved to east side which made me go to the Lyndhurst location. Very dirty equipments, awful mats,dust everywhere. Child care center is very dirty , barely has anything in it, stinks , the jumpers that they provide for infants are very dirty , has too many stains on it. I did speak to the manager about it being cleaned out, he told me that he would take care of it ,and he ignored it. It was never cleaned out after he told me ,that he would. Some staff at the day care seems too irritated, rude,never say hello or good-bye. It seems that all they want to do is to sit on the chair .

I would like to put in a compliment and a thank you to Matt I hope Im getting his name right) who introduced me to LA fitness in Legacy Village. My decision to stay at Lifetime has nothing to do with anything he did wrong and in fact I would like to say that I was very impressed with his customer service and his drive as a salesman. He definitely deserves a bonus. He is so good I actually felt bad that I didnt want to join. I am just spoiled by Lifetime fitness. In fact all of the staff there was very welcoming. I would suggest making some updates to the facility though, that is my only complaint, which really isnt a complaint because a good work out is a good work out. I just prefer the lifetime environment. Thanks Matt.

It is a total disaster to enroll in this gym. Please google it and consider my review before you go. I am not the only person who gets into trouble with unexpected bills from this gym. The staffs there have credibility issues. They promise you everything and treat you nice until you find out they are only after your money. I got billed for over $700 for personal trainings I have never agreed or received. After I brought this to the Personal Training Directors attention and request to stop the unauthorized charges, I still get billed! So I have to call my bank to file a credit dispute. I dont know whether I will get my money back but you should not be the next victim.

LA Fitness was a total disappointment. The customer service to get you signed up is excellent, but once you are a member there is no customer service. Cancelling is virtually impossible. I was told my membership was cancelled, which included a cancellation letter and my account was still debited. I consider that FRAUD. To get the Matt and Dan to help with a refund is a nightmare. I was told I would get a refund, and I kept checking and checking and nothing. After three weeks of chasing them down, with no call backs. I had to go to my bank to report the fraud. DO NOT GO TO LA FITNESS UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR MONEY STOLEN AND NOBODY TO HELP YOU.

Locker rooms stink, carpet disgusting Urine all over bathroom floor Sauna floor sticky and smells Steam room floor has pubic hair and other debris and smells Most of the guys never let their bare feet touch the floor because of the conditions. 10% of all the equipment is always broken, and stays that way for months Most of the heart monitoring equipment is broken. A pulse registers when not touching the sensors. Water filter cartridge needed to be replaced for several months until is was finally done No one stops unsafe lifting practices, when pointed out. Management does not care about the conditions. Its obvious.

This was my first gym since college so I didnt know what to expect, but to put it simply: 1. Cleanliness is a huge concern here. There was gum stuck all over the place, specifically one on a barbell that was never cleaned. Guys were clipping their toenails in the locker room, and some machines smelled filthy. 2. Lots of meatheads and d-bags. Seemed like their target audience for members. 3. If you dont plan on getting their when they open, dont plan on going at all. The gym is overcrowded to begin with, and the more people there are, the worse #1 (mentioned previously) gets.

I come here to work out in the mornings and I probably should not be writing this review because I dont want anyone to know about my secret. This place is not busy in the mornings and it is very convenient to come here to work out. Most of the cardio equipment lets you forget your cardio because you can watch live television (little tv that is built into the equipment). All you need is a pair of headphones. Plus everything here is relatively new, the only downside is the pool is tiny but other than that its one of the best gyms in the area.
