I chose to have my sons hair cut here because when I called to verify that they had a stylist who had experience with black/ethnic hair, they told me yes. We had his first cut done at this salon about 6 weeks ago and I didnt love how the stylist treated his hair (yanking with a comb, not wetting it down before trying to comb it out) but he didnt cry so I figured I would give them one more try since he seemed to be comfortable with the environment the first time. Today I went to get his haircut and it was a nightmare. The same stylist, once again (despite me asking her not to last time), yanked on his hair with a comb. She had the audacity to make several snarky comments about why I was choosing to have his hair cut again (obviously she has no real experience with black/ethnic hair and the manager straight up lied to me about this). She even had the nerve to tell me that he was "crying real tears" in a sarcastic manner, as if Im a terrible parent for wanting my child to have a summer-ready trim. At that point, I told her to just finish the sides and that wed worry about the top later. The salon then charged me full price for a half-haircut. The stylist, annoyed, mumbled a few dates of availability and left. I used to get my hair done here, but we will not be returning. I look forward to finding a salon that is talented in meeting the needs of my multi-racial family AND who can handle cutting a childs hair. Youd think in 2016 most places could handle that but I suppose not. In summary, dont take your kids here and if your hair is anything but board straight, dont bother.
