In June of 2010 we had the exhaust line replaced by this Car-X. They installed the exhaust too close to the bumper, and it burnt a hole in it. They had the entire bumper replaced. In early December 2011 the tailpipe fell off of our diffuser and the diffuser had fallen apart inside. On Monday 12/19/11 they put a new diffuser & tailpipe on. I expected this to be complementary and was caught off guard by the $74 charge. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and paid $74 for the labor. 4 days later I notice that the exhaust has burnt a hole in the bumper AGAIN! I bring it back in, expecting a refund of my $74 & for them to repair the bumper. The manager Chuck claims that if I had brought up the first bumper burning more than 2 times that he would have done the diffuser/tailpipe free. I show up to have the exhaust fixed on 12/23/11. They fix the exhaust, and cut off the burnt portion of bumper in an attempt to make it appear stock. Chuck then tells me that I can either have my $74 back, or I can have my bumper properly fixed. After a bit of argueing I allow Chuck to refund the money. I request their corporate contact information and Chuck doesnt have that information. I sign a reciept authorizing them to credit my card with the money. I was then presented with an invoice I was explicitly told "just lists the charges we are crediting you." I was asked to sign this paper to get the refund. Once I get out to my car, I find I had signed page 2 (although neither were numbered) of an agreement releasing Car-X from further liability. I would have never signed such a document; they owe me a new bumper! They have intensively bungled their work on my pathfinder proving to be absurdly incompetent and disgustedly shady at every turn.

I have been coming to CarX on Wunnenberg Way for over 10 years.. The Service has always been outstanding. Recently, my son had what appeared to be a slow leak in his tire. The staff at CARX performed over an hours worth of checking and validation to ensure the tire was not leaking (it had been patched by a repair shop where he goes to school) and nothing was found. Air was added and NO CHARGE! That is excelllent customer service. I have had simliar experiences over the the past years and have been give clear and honest advice. No serice has EVER been forced or pressured. The staff provides options and solutions to make the car right. No work has ever been done that was not absolutely needed. The warranty on parts has been always honored. I cant say enough good things about the Management and staff of the Wunnenber Way CarX facility. They are the honest and best service team I have experienced in my 35+ years of owning and driving a car. Keep up the Good Work!

Car-X on Wunneberg Way in West Chester is the only place my husband and I trust with our family’s vehicles. We have been loyal customers since being recommended years ago. Chuck & Jamie are honest and have always given us straight advice, without trying to nickel-and-dime us. They understand that retaining good customers is more valuable than the daily bottom line. They have often taken a quick look and sent me on my way without charge, which only makes me want to return when there IS a problem. As a female in a mechanic environment, I am constantly wary of being dismissed or financially taken advantage of, but Chuck & Jamie have always treated me the same as my husband. This Car-X is fair, honest and a good value.

I cannot say more positive things in regards to Chuck Raines & Jamie. Tire Discounters changed my pads on my car 3 weeks ago and stated I needed new rotors, pads, calibers, and brake hose for $710. Come to find out TD only installed 1/2 of the brake pads and Chuck/Jamie fixed my problem in 40 minutes and saved me $600. CarX definitely gained a customer for life with how thorough Chuck & Jamie were. They showed me the wear and tear of every rotor, brake pad, etc. Honest mechanics do not come easily in todays money sucking economy. I would highly recommend this location to anyone in the area. This place is great. I trust them with all my auto work. Recently I had radiator problems that forced me to take the car to the closest repair shop. Though they fixed it, i started losing fluid. I took it back, and they told me it was likely a cracked head gasket but they wanted $89 just to look! Took it to Chuck and Jamie, and they found out it was a mere hose clip, and replaced it for free, and never charge just to get under the hood to check out the problem for you. They always do great work at a good price, and they can be trusted. I highly recommend this place for your repair needs.

I normally never write reviews online! Car-X at 4851 Wunnenberg Way, West Chester has a new customer for life. Ive been ripped off so many times, over sold , over charged at other places that I just lost all hope in the auto repair industry. Until I was recommended to Chuck Raines and his staff. Chuck is fair, honest and wont just upsell you into buying other parts, and stuff you dont really need. He has earned my trust for life and I will never take my car anywhere else again. Give them a try and Im sure you wont be disappointed.

Went in for a brake pad change at $99 and oil change at $30. They called my husband and said it needed rotors too $450, he agreed but was confused why it was so much. We called right back and they had thrown in a fluid flush $99 he wasnt aware of. They wouldnt take it off because it was already agreed on even though there was confusion. This place will try to scam you into more than you need and then act like it was all you. Wont be using this place again! Not an honest company!

I stopped in to Car-X without an appointment because of the great things I had heard about it from friends and I was not disappointed. Chuck Raines couldnt have been more helpful and generous in getting a quick fix done for me with despite whatever he had on his schedule. I was really impressed with the level of attentiveness and care... they definitely won my business. I have always taken my car to the dealer but I feel totally comfortable making this switch.

Went to Car-X to get U-joints replaced on my Toyota Truck. But like anything with car repairs, its always something more. Jamie and his staff did a good job of explaining and showing me the problem and then running down my options with prices included. In the end, the problem was fixed and my truck runs like new again. Thank you to the Car-X staff. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a car repair business.

We had a wonderful experience at this particular Car-X. We were buying a used car and the mechanics looked it over thoroughly and gave us detailed information about the car. We worked with both Chuck and Jamie. Both men have been with the company for many years, which says a lot about the company and the men who work there. Very reasonably priced as well. We were very pleased with our experience.
