As is often the case with negative reviews, Id give this company zero or negative stars if Google offered that option, maybe -100 in this case. First of all, the business should have never even been allowed at the site. Do we really need more "economic cancer"? Instead of building more buildings that are utterly superfluous and wasteful, how about INSTEAD filling empty lots with lots of interesting plants and animals (gasp...the capitalists might then starve, not enough profits!). At any rate, what prompts me to write today is this facilitys lawsuit filed against Genoa Township, where I live, as well as against the Townships Board of Trustees. In late October, Cardinal Self Storage Maxtown LLC filed Case No 16 CV F 10 in the Common Pleas Court of Delaware County Ohio seeking to overturn the Trustees DENIAL of the storage facilitys request for a substantial zoning VARIANCE. The Township Trustees had denied Cardinals request for a substantial VARIANCE from the zoning code in order to protect the interests of RESIDENTS, whose latter interests DO NOT COMPORT WELL with the interests of FOR PROFIT businesses. The lawsuit filed in October appears to simply be retaliation for a perfectly legitimate DECISION of the Board of Trustees to enforce Genoa Townships ZONING CODE and thus protect the residents interests. As a consequence of these sort of high handed tactics, that is having a business basically thumb its nose at the RESIDENTS of Genoa Township, obviously I am NOT writing in with a recommendation of this business. I will post more information later as it becomes available and/or feel free to contact Genoa Township, or see the Court docket online, for more details. UPDATE ON 12/13/2016: In addition to Cardinal Self-Storage Maxtown LLC, filing the lawsuit against Genoa Township in Delaware County, Cardinal Self-Storage has also filed a lawsuit against Genoa in United States District Court, Southern District, Eastern Division Case No. 2:16-cv-01058 in their continued attempt to force issuance of a variance that our Trustees, in their sound judgement and discretion REFUSED. Cardinal Self Storage is essentially a bully and wants to shove their proposed expansion down the throats of residents. RESPONSE TO BUSINESS: If you want to "debate" this and introduce self- serving, selective statements I, and others who LIVE here, will then simply introduce an EQUAL NUMBER of relevant FACTS . The Attorney who represented Cardinal at the Trustee hearing is a partner in a law firm that made a $250 campaign contribution to one of the Trustees. Despite the potential for a quid pro quo or conflict of interest, that this type of "contribution" creates, that Attorney then went to the lengths of composing and submitting, at the Trustee hearing, a "legalistic" "Motion for Recusal" demanding that ANOTHER (different than the one who got the campaign contribution!!) Trustee recuse himself from a vote on the variance. The "basis" for the Attorneys recusal demand was that the Trustee had previously "talked" (gasp! God forbid ANY free speech "these days") in public about the need for preservation, the need to uphold the Zoning Code, the lack of a legally cognizable basis for variances, and so on and so forth. So, if you want to get into a pissing match, the FIRST question for you is why didnt the Attorney, whose firm made the campaign contribution, ask that the recipient Trustee recuse himself RATHER THAN demand recusal of the Trustee who did NOT get a campaign contribution from the law firm, but INSTEAD had merely opened his mouth in public, with PURELY altruistic motives, trying to be a good PUBLIC Trustee and help the PUBLIC??? There are an ADDITIONAL number of very valid threshold questions that ARE going to be resolved BECAUSE THE PUBLIC WANTS TO KNOW AND IS ENTITLED TO KNOW. So, if you want to respond further, lets first get that issue of the $250 campaign contribution FULLY resolved along with an answer to the SPECIFIC QUESTION of why Cardinals Attorney did not request that the Trustee who did receive that MONEY recuse himself.

This is honestly the nicest self storage facility Ive ever used. We rent self storage facilities all over the place to hold business materials in close proximity to job sites. Cardinal staff is always friendly, helpful, and professional. The facility is brand new, its very secure, and they even offered a free moving truck special when we leased our first storage unit with cardinal. Thanks again to everyone at Cardinal Self Storage!

I moved in two months ago. This is the third storage facility that I have had in 10 years. The facility is beautifully clean, and the temperature control is clearly showing benefits, with regard to my work equipment that I store. The facility is well located, close to my home, and access is secure, but easy. The access hours are good, and the staff are very helpful. By far the best storage company I have dealt with. Great job!

They even let you borrow a box truck for FREE for a 1/2 day to move in! I have had no problems whatsoever accessing my storage unit and I am very pleased with my experience! I highly recommend this location!

Cardinal Storage is suing Residents of Genoa Township in order to force their development plans onto the community after they (Cardinal) had been rejected. Now using a judge to go around the residents. Please boycott tis company.
