New to town I needed to find a place to perform the routine maintenance on my fiances and Is car. To be honest with you I stumbled upon this place just by chance as it is less than a half of mile from my place. Having said that, after my experience with this place if I were to move tomorrow to the other side of town, I would still bring our vehicles to Jimmy and Norman Automotive. The customer service is incredible. I had an appointment for 10am and had some things come up at work and I had to push it back to a little bit later. They were great enough to allow me to come in @ 11 even though they had a busy day. I was only getting an oil change so they had me take a seat while they got it in and out within about 20 minutes. Not only were they extremely fast, but Jimmy even offered me the remote to watch whatever I wanted to watch in their waiting room. Not a huge deal I know, but a small touch of customer service that makes me feel comfortable. In the short period of time that I was in there waiting for the oil change I witnessed 2 regular customers come in and they were greeted by name and treated in a very mom and popish old fashioned way (great compliment), very comforting. i also heard the gentleman advise 1 of the customers to shop around for an after market part and he would be happy to install it for him. How many mechanics/body shops have you been to where they ask you to shop around to save you money?! Again this was very comforting and reassuring that I was in the right place. I was only here for about 20 minutes but I have already decided to bring my car (I was taking my fiances this trip) back next week to have them service it. In the brief time of 20 minutes they assured me that A.) they work quickly B.) they value their customers and treat them like people want to be treated & C.) perhaps the most important, theyre good people. He had an opportunity to show a guy that he cared and said look "if an aftermarket upgrade is going to cost you the same as replacing the factory part you might as well upgrade, why dont you look around for the best deal and Ill call you when Ive got a quote on the factory replacement. If you want to do the after market upgrade Ill be more than happy to put it on for you. I dont know about you, but I think most mechanics/body shop would have loved to supply that after market part with whatever % markup they could add on top of it. Bottom line is this place is great. In 20 minutes they convinced me that they are THE place to take my cars in all of Norman. I will definitely be back. And they also sell one of their customers all natural honey in their store too! Honey is delicious and it further proves my point about how these guys treat their customers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Highly recommended! Nothing but GREAT things to say about Norman Automotive! I took my 02 Lincoln Town Car in because the "air suspension" light was intermittently coming on. I took it to a different repair place in Norman last week and the diagnosis was that the rear suspension bags needed to be replace because they had leaks. The "other guys" quoted me $900 for parts and labor to get this problem fixed. I brought the car home and did some research online and determined that their estimate was pretty high. Made some calls and settled on Norman Automotive. Jimmy said he could do the exact same thing for around $450. Very pleased that I found these guys! I arrived and was immediately greeted by a polite guy named Jon (I think). He verified what repairs were needed and took my key. My 3 boys and I played cards in the waiting room until everything was complete. The waiting room has very comfortable couches, a huge fish tank, TV, and lots of memorabilia on the walls. I can tell that these guys know what they are doing and its a professional operation. Jon kept me up to speed as time passed on how things were progressing (total time was approx 90 min). I dread taking cars in to a mechanic because you never know what kind of other repairs "come up". No worries with these guys. Although the final cost was over the original estimate of $450. My grand total was $453. Hopefully, my car will continue to run smoothly and I wont have to visit them again. BUT, if something happens I know exactly who I would take my vehicle to.

I had received great service from them for oil changes and such. However, a few months ago my transmission went out. Because of the great service I had received from them, I took it there. The price they charged me was pretty fair (although I didnt get quotes from anywhere else, so Im not sure if it was more or less than their competitors). The service they did was fine, so I thought. I drove the car home fine, but the next day there was a big puddle of transmission fluid under my car. I took the car back in, and they fixed whatever they had done wrong. However, 3 months later, the car sounds horrible. The car shakes when I put it in reverse (I think they may have damaged an engine mount) and overall the car sounds like it will fall apart any second. If I am going to pay $1400 for a new (well, used) transmission, I would like for it to perform better than that. Thus, if you need a mechanic to do minor repairs and oil changes and such, theyre great. However, if you need a mechanic to work on your transmission, go somewhere else.

I dislike this place with a passion! Two years ago in October of 2009 I came in to have brakes worked on. After installing new pads and rotors (not cheap) I still had heavy squeaking/squealing problems and they refused to swap them out again (just 5 days later) even though the products were still under warranty. They said "some cars just do that" and sent me on my way. They said it would go away on its own and it finally did 2 months later when I had the brakes worked on somewhere else. They also tried to get me to replace a fan belt they said was really close to going bad. Here we are two years later and I just had the fan belt checked again this week at Hibdon Tires Plus - they said it was still perfectly fine. Smaller businesses like this need to learn customer service is EVERYTHING. They cant compete with prices or turnaround time so what else do they have? I felt completely taken for a ride with this place ..

Its a rip off, and extremely rude attitude towards customers. My battery died and they charged me a total of $233 including $198 for part and $35 for labor. The exact same battery is $120 at Auto Zone after tax, and we contacted other two auto repairs in town, one charges $150 for part and $20 for labor, the other charges $170 for part and $20 for labor. When I asked the manager Jimmy why they are charging much more, he said thats the way the run business. He told me that I knew nothing about business and turned me away with a $35 check and said he didnt want to waste time on me. I felt humiliated and deeply hurt by the manager Jimmy. I would urge you to stay away from this business if you want to avoid an very unpleasant auto repair experience.
