Ive taken my BMW to at least 3 other repair shops around Portland and I have Mixed feelings on Auto Haus. They really take the time to explain to you what they replaced and what kinds of symptoms you should have been experiencing. HOWEVER, they don’t typically communicate the side of the car well and often replace things that don’t need replacing. I recently needed to replace a ball joint on the passenger side front control arm. The original shop I took it too called this the “right” side of the car (standard for the car industry is if you’re inside the car). I thought this was the same part I replaced only a year ago so I called up Auto Haus and talked to them. They side it should be a straight forward warranty issue and would most likely be free. So I took my car back into Auto Haus only to find out the part they replaced was the “left” or Driver side. Auto Haus was going to replace the ENTIRE control arm costing about $560. DynaSport was able to just replace the bushings and the ball joint saving me $450! My advice to Auto Haus is don’t replace things that don’t need replacing just because it’s easier or you get more money out of it.

Took my 84 Porsche 911 Targa for a simple fuel ratio adjustment, was told that my cat wont ever start working until I drove it at least 59 miles. So, just about everything I make is less than 50 miles. Brilliant diagnosis done by the old lady at the front counter. Tried it anyway, didnt pass DEQ. Brought it back and they say they adjusted the fuel ratio and it should pass. Well see. They also broke my door catch and denied it. They just stuck half the fastener back in and called it good. Called back and talked to the old lady at the countered and she talked over everything I was trying to relate to her....a real "people" person. Oh, and they did a nice polish jod on my newly apholstered leather seats with some goons oily hands. Didnt even try to clean it off. These guys should never touch a Porsche..truly hacks.....probably marginally talented with bugs though. Do you self a favor and pass these guys up.

Terrible customer care, with no sense of ownership. Some may consider this a small issue, but sometimes its the little things that matter most. Took my car in, old vw 81. They resolved my issue, the mechanic Kelly nice guy. However the rubber shoe that covered my clutch pedal was off and broken. I took it in, the lady at the desk said its an old car and things will break( which I understand ). She took no responsibility for the fact they were the ones who broke it. All you had to do was tell me and say sorry, it woulda been cool. Instead of being cold and making it my fault for having an old car. Also my exhaust temp tac no longer works. Dont worry guys Id rather figure that out on my own then ever come back to you. Thanks!

Autohaus is OK, not great. Any German auto shop is going to be on the spendy side, but I find that on average, I seem to spend more here than I do at other shops. Plus, the last time I went in, they accidently charged me $50 more than I was supposed to pay because they forgot to deduct the "inspection fee" from my repair costs. I realized afterwards and they fixed it in a few days, but it was good that I double-checked. Also, their time estimate was way off the last time I was in. Was told a fix would be done by noon. When I came in at noon, I had discovered that the mechanic had gone to lunch early. I had to sit around another 1.5 hours before the repair was actually completed..

I once asked these guys about a replacement part for my older BMW. I expected them to tell me they could order it and it would cost me several hundred dollars. Instead, the owner told me where I could go down the street and pick up the part for a fraction of the cost. Ever since then I have trusted them with my repairs because I believe they offer great service at a fair price. A lot of time, I have a little sticker shock when I get repairs done. But I always feel these guys are really honest about the work that needs to be done and are really reasonable about the costs and labor. I would definitely recommend them.

Dont take your car here!....I had a diagnostic ran at BMW and simply asked these guys to repair what BMW had already stated was the issue, my warranty was covering the entire thing...they decided after the service to add parts they said wasnt covered to my bill only for me to call my warranty company and find out the the parts were never submitted...& when I called and asked her about it she was rude told me that my car was complete and that they would start charging me a fee if I didnt come pick it up Immeadiately ...these people are crooks..Simple and plain

I recently purchased a 2002 Mercedes C320 Wagon and had a couple of minor issues I thought were more serious than they were. The service I got from Teri, Darby and the team was outstanding. I had mostly been to dealerships before and Autohaus has been nothing but honest and professional. I have come out of there paying less than what I thought it would be. I wont go back to the dealer again. A pleasure to do business both times I have been there and would recommend them to anyone.

Ive been going to AB for >8 years and have been extremely pleased by the level of service to my 2002 BMW 540i. They are much better priced than the dealers in town and quite often willing to go the extra mile to do the repair vs. replacement approach. Darby and the team at AB have always given me good advice on all my scheduled maintenance and repairs and i would highly recommend them.

Best local German/European shop period. Friendly and fast service. Very reasonable. Loved that they always gave advice on future maintenance. Never felt pressured into completing work immediately when it wasnt required yet. Very knowledgeable staff. Clean shop and plenty of amenities to keep you busy if you ever have to wait. Been a long time client and fan of the shop.

I called with a question about the cost to do a 1 hour diagnostic to have something checked on my car. The service manager was rude and lectured me about how expensive it is to own a German car and how I should be expecting thousands of dollars per year for maintenance and basically ridiculed my questions. Based on this, I did not end up taking my car here.

This is a horrible place for you to leave your car. The biggest problem is that they dont know the detail of the german car. I warn you of avoiding this awful shop and recommend you go to the dealership. They are inexperienced with no reasonable price. Never try this shop you will regret what you waste here..Crappy local childish shop
