I would not go back to Scholls Ferry Automotive. I went there to get my 1988 Honda A/C looked at. They said it would be 145.00 to look at it and plus R 12. They said that the R 12 cost 7.00 dollars a ounce. They never called me back with a update to tell me how much the total job would cost. I didnt know that my car would need 32 ounces. I had a budget in my mind. I would of never had it done if they would of called and told me. And the R 12 coo lent went up from $7.00 a ounce to $10.00 a ounce and they never called to tell me. They only called to tell me it was done and I owed 469.00. I only paid 500.00 for the car. When I brought up the change in price they could only give me a 10 percent off. Which still doesnt cover the price increase. And they were not willing to work with me anymore. They just said " it is what it is, we are to only place in Portland that have R 12." Not true. Call around. Dont get stuck with a huge bill like me. There are a lot of Automotive places out there. They are way over priced.

O wow... worst experience with a mechanic ever. So, I brought in my car, the car needed at least a CV joint and probably some diagnosis of a sticking clutch and whatever else might be wrong. So, I get it in, pay for an hour of diagnosis. A few hours later, mechanic calls me back and says that the vehicle is not drivable and he did not do any repairs. Thats cool, your a mechanic, your supposed to fix un-drivable vehicles, but if you dont want my business. Im ok, with that, plenty of other mechanics in the area. It was driven around the block, you could have driven it onto a ramp and checked out the CV joints at least. Then they try and charge me 22.00 for a safety inspection? Get out of here!! 22.00 to tell me they will refuse to do work on my vehicle? Crazy. Anyways, they seemed to have it together, but a mechanic who wont even try and fix a car, that is weak. Not even a referral to a specialist. Just a we dont want to work on it, gimme some money. Ridiculous. Find another mechanic, one who can fix un-drivable cars.

I had a fuel leak this summer. Took it to Scholls Ferry as a referral. They could not find a fuel leak and informed me that they recommend taking apart the gas tank and extensively testing it. They put it back together and charged $732. After 2 weeks of driving, the fuel leak came back.I called them and asked what my options were. At that time, Chris (very professional) advised that I take it to Toyota because they could not fix it. I took it to a different auto shop and they could not find a leak as well and decided to replace the gas cap which cost $56. Since then the fuel leak has not come back. The second shop also said what (scholls ferry) did was "crazy." Clearly, as a customer one would feel pretty cheated given this situation. Scholls Ferry maintains that they did nothing wrong. From a customer standpoint, I was charged $732 for a $56 fix. Ive contacted the shop directly to see if a partial refund can be given but they maintain no wrongdoing.

Ive used SFA several times over the past couple of years and will continue to be a loyal customer. Chris and Gabe have always been very fair and honest and able to talk through whatever issues I needed to discuss. They have been able to perform work under the estimated price quoted and have even thrown in free wiper blades when they previously received the wrong model from their supplier. It seems to me those who have given them bad reviews dont understand the basic concept that time is money, especially to a small business. If a mechanic allocates time out of their schedule to inspect a vehicle, that is time they could have otherwise been spending on an actual repair and they should be compensated for that time. This is a business, not a charity, and a well-run business at that.

They were friendly, fast, and did not try to upsell me once. I went in because of a large crack in the plastic of my radiator, I hate my car and am looking to replace it but in the meantime it was more cost effective to replace the radiator than to keep dumping antifreeze in to it. I told the staff this and they did not once ask me if I wanted them to fix any of the cars numerous other issues. Its due for an oil change, its misfiring (probably spark plugs) the power window motor on the drivers side it burnt out. But I told them I just wanted the radiator replaced to make it drivable again and thats all they did. I was amazed actaully.

Scholls Ferry Auto surprised me today with their honesty, and I will continue to use them as my primary shop. They provide service consistently at a fair price and on time. After many years of not using them, I started back about a year ago, and today, I brought my car in for what could have been substantial charges, but they found that most of the work didnt need to be done, did only what was needed, and charged me accordingly. It is very nice to find an auto shop who provides very good service and does not take an open opportunity to make unnecessary charges. Thank you

Ive used Scholl Ferry Automotive twice now, and both times they have exceeded my expectations for customer service. I recently came in with a check engine light on and they quickly found exactly what the issues were, and that the damage was caused by a recall notice on my car. They called the dealer for me to get more information, gave me a full diagnostic report, and offered to help me ensure my repairs were done for free by the dealer. I now have my car back with a practically new engine build at no cost, in part by their diligence, integrity, and service. Thank you!

I have been using this repair shop for 15 years. They have worked on our familys Infiniti G35, Honda CR-V, Toyota 4-Runners, Toyota T-100 pickup, Toyota Tacoma pickup, Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, and Lexus RX 350. They give straight advice, excellent service and are reasonably priced. I feel fortunate to have a shop that I can trust and rely on for great service.

Ive taken two cars here in the past. They saved me nearly $1k on my first visit and on my second were able to fix the problem (oil leak) for very little out of pocket. Even had me bring it back twice to make sure it didnt still have any leaks and they didnt charge me at all. Honest repair shops are hard to find, Im fortunate that I stumbled upon this one!

The SFA guys are great. I switched to them after getting tired of the dealer and their runaround and upselling. They are reasonable about the timing of repairs, upfront about cost, what I can get by doing cheaply, what will impair safety. Ive never felt talked down to because Im a woman. They do a great job of keeping my crap car on the road!
