))) THIS REVIEW IS A MUST READ ((( DO NOT EVER GO HERE! First of all I had a tune up done on my car which was supposed to be $200 and then magically during the tune up they discovered something was leaking (car was just with my previous mechanic and nothing has ever leaked....had to stop going to him because he was too far so I took a chance on First Choice Auto.....Huge Mistake I found out) and wanted another $200. So I trusted their word and yes I paid them $400 for all new wires and all new other stuff that my car didnt even need and mind you the tune up took almost 7 hours. They have never taken this long ever! Then I had to have my car towed 2 weeks later because the brakes werent working and when I got there it took them 4 hours I got there at 9:15 am and they didnt let me go till noon ( Wonder what they were doing when no one else was there but me) all to tell me they think its my transmission. My car is only 8 years old with more than normal maintenance being dont to it no way in hell would it need a new tranny this early. And they flushed the tranny without my permission mind you and added new fluid. They told me if it runs ok between 2 days to pay them $100 for the fluid they added without even asking me. Then my car starts to smell weird that same night and I pop the hood to find the pcv hose disconnected which is the air for my brakes and thats why they werent working properly and the air intake wasnt even screwed on tightly. So you guys had my car for 4 hours, couldnt figure out what was wrong, tried to fix the wrong thing, and forgot to hook up the little necessities? Wow When I called them to explain John (Im assuming the owner) acted like everything disconnected wasnt his doing and acted oblivious. Mind you between the expensive tun up and having my car towed to them.....they were the last ones to pop the hood and work on my car so thats a straight up lie and completley inexcusable. And their professionalism is terrible. They will tell you they are on a test drive when really they are on lunch and tell you just 15 more minutes but then an hour will go by and they just get more attitude the more you ask how much longer when the time they told you is inaccurate anyway. They even left one of their dirty rags in my car which reeked of oil. This place by far has given me one of the worst experiences of my life and not only will I never ever recommend them to anyone I know.....I will go out of my way to let everyone this is the worst auto repair shop in Oregon! And "First Choice Auto" do not reply to my review and try to make excuses and try to make me look like Im a disgruntled customer in anyway when you guys were totally in the wrong this whole time with everything. Heres a tip....when a girl comes to you and looks like shes 17....dont ever assume she can be taken advantage of because she could actually be 30 and a big business owner with lots of lawyers! I hope you guys get your act together and never pull this with anyone else ever again. TO YOUR RESPONSE...... Cheap shot btw......told you guys hed reply and make a stupid excuse! Shows you just how mature this company really is! Like I said save yourselves the headache and take your car ANYWHERE else!

As a 55 year old customer service manager, I can count on 1 hand the times I’ve felt compelled to write a review about services I’ve received. Well, it has happened again; I feel compelled to share my experience at 1st Choice Auto Service. I am somewhat analytical in nature. Before I make a purchase, or go to a company for services, I always try to find reviews about a place of business. I read countless reviews of several local repair shops, and with the exception of 1, whose name will remain secret, were for the most part all positive. I said to myself, one of these companies had to have upset someone; no 1 company pleases everyone. Well, I did find a review of 1st Choice Auto Service that was not 100% positive, which in its self did not surprise, nor bother me. It was the response to the reviewer by 1st Choice that impressed me, and helped make my choice of where to take my car. The owner of 1st Choice responded to an unhappy customer by explaining his business philosophy. They acknowledged that they would not make a living off of 1 repair, but rather by having satisfied customers return for additional services when the need arose. It was their desire to provide excellent service on ever repair, and if you were not satisfied, they would “make it right”. Well, that is precisely my business philosophy, as well. After reading this review, I knew 1st Choice Auto was my first choice. My car needed brakes. I stopped by to talk to John, one of the owners, and asked him what the “worst case scenario” would be on my brakes, even though I realized that without inspection, it would be tough to do. But, John gave me his estimate, which was one I could live with; so I made an appointment for the following day, which was a Saturday. I dropped my car off and was told they’d be done by 10:30-11:00 that morning. After leaving for a while, I returned to the shop about 10:45, and noticed that my car was being lowered from its perched rack. I said, WOW!! It’s done on time. I then went inside to pick it up and, of course, was expecting it to be “the worst case scenario”. But, I was in for a pleasant surprise. John informed me not only was it my rear brakes, not the front as I had thought, but it was not the “worst case scenario”; in fact, it wasn’t that bad at all. Despite the sound of metal on metal, there was no damage done. My brakes were fixed and my oil changed with synthetic oil, all at about half of what the worst case scenario was to cost. 1st Choice Auto could have taken advantage of me because I was prepared to pay the much higher repair bill. But, their honesty and integrity prevented them from doing so. And, after driving the car for a week, my brakes work great, and it sure is nice driving down the road without “announcing I’m coming” with the sound of metal on metal screeching. No matter what repair I need, I am now confident that I have found a mechanic that I can trust and rely on to always give me the “real scoop”; no longer do I need to worry about getting ripped off. If you yourself are looking for an honest and reputable auto mechanic, look no further; 1st Choice Auto Service should be your first choice.

This is the 3rd time I have had work done to my car there and being someone who is skeptical of mechanics and shops trying to oversell and do unnecessary work I can tell you first hand this is NOT that type of shop. John the Service Manager is a straight shooter and always lays out what really needs to be done and what can wait. This last time my car had a hole in the radiator which I suspected seeing a wet spot in the radiator looking through the front grill, a BAD left rear hub/bearing assembly and 2 bad front struts. When he called to give me the assessment we discussed what could wait and what needed fixing right away. I let him know that I would like him to go ahead and do all of the work now as I might not have the money later. Being a repeat customer he gave me an excellent deal as well as working quickly to get the car fixed in the small window of time I informed I had to get it fixed. I trust this shop and John 100% to deal me straight and get the job done right and in a timely manner. Thanks again John!
