The main point Id like to make is this: Ive brought 2 cars in there. One was a piece of junk, the other was fairly nice. When I brought the bad car in to have the engine checked, he said he felt bad for working on it cause it wasnt worth my money. One of the valves wasnt working & it wouldve been an ongoing expensive problem. He didnt charge me for some of the work and gave options for a better brand vehicle for what I was looking for. He also said he felt bad for tuning up the nice car cause there was nothing wrong with it. Its a 1996 so I figured it needed something, but all they did was replace the plugs & didnt charge me for some of the things I wanted done cause it didnt need it. I was amazed at the honesty of this place & would recommend it to anyone.

Horrible experience! They charged $100 to inspect the car. Quoted me $1800 for a parts and labor. I took it to a garage I trust. Turns out I didnt even need what they said I did. My garage showed me what parts Metrosaid to replace. They looked brand new, as they should I had them replaced 20,000 miles ago. I sent Metro and email saying that I wanted my money back. They called me and were super apologetic. admitting that they didnt even look at it. That there were "holes in procedure". They did give me my money back. I dont know if they were really sorry or I just caught them. Long story short. Get a second opinion. Its hard to find an honest mechanic anymore. it saved me thousands.

These guys have always been great for me. Theyve accurately diagnosed any problems and have had my vehicle fixed on time. Theyve even shuttled me to my office! Past two times Ive gone there Ive been quoted a price for repair that is significantly higher than competitors just down the street. To replace rotors and brakes on my SUV they wanted over $1000. Les Schwab did it for $400. To repair the clutch on my Accord they wanted $460 where MasterWrench across the street quoted $356. Needless to say, Im going to shop around every time if I have to take my vehicles here. In summary - great service, very high price.

Beware! Get a second opinion and quote for any work they think you need! Went in for an oil change. When I picked up the car they said my drive belts were cracked, and my transmission, power steering fluid and differential fluids were black. I knew I had my fluids done recently so went to a REAL mechanic. We looked at all the fluids together and all were very clean. The belts had just been changed out 6 months ago and were also fine. They out and out lied about everything but the tires.

My family has been going to Metro Car Care for nearly 10 years and we have always been satisfied with the service. They do their repairs well, their prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. My best experience with them have been with pre-sale inspections. They have thoroughly inspected every car I have brought them and told me point blank when I should not buy a car. They have even done this when the person trying to sell me the car is another customer of theirs.

Love these guys. Cant imagine having the experiences others say theyve had here. Have brought our two cars to Kirk and his people for both major and minor work. Theyve always been completely transparent and upfront about everything. Theyve explained my options and made recommendations. There work has always been impeccable at very fair prices (Im a shopper), including doing many little things for free. Can only give them the highest recommendation.

There was a high pitched noise that came from my engine and I brought the car here to get it fixed. They charged me $1,200 and told me that they knew what the problem was... and that it had been fixed. Its been about 4 months now, and the problem is back. Just enough time for the warranty to have expired.. heck you couldnt have timed it better if you had tried. If you own a Toyota, youvery been warned.

I have to say, that you wont find a more honest group of people to take your car to. I have dealt with a lot of untrustworthy folks in the past, and Metro has always done excellent work, they are forthright throughout the process, and it is always a fair price. I have also heard glowing remarks from other folks that work in the auto repair industry here in Portland. I cant them give a higher recommendation.

I live nearby so I have been going to them for a few times. I always felt they were overcharging me, but didnt think too much about it. Last time, they tried to charge almost 200 for replacing a battery. When I was about to go to somewhere else, the price came down to 160, then to 120. Had a similar experience two years ago but didnt think its what these guys do. Dont see myself ever going back there.

I have only recommended 2 auto repair shops to friends... ever. Good luck finding someone you can trust completely, is incredibly flexible, knows what they are doing and does their best to keep the cost down. Id recommend Metro to anyone and everyone. Hear that dad... stop going to the dealership already.

Metro Car Care has excellent customer service. Theyre honest & reliable. This is a car repair place you stay with. My 18 year old Daughter works hard for her money and is responsible for her car repairs/maintenence. After all my experiences with Metro Car Care I would not have her go anyplace else.
