Unfortunately, I must give a tepid review of this shop. A couple years ago, in an emergency situation, I had TrueTech diagnose and replace my EFI failure on a 2001 GM 5.7L van. I am a mechanic, but was literally flying out of town the day of failure. TrueTech did turn the job around in a timely manner hence my two star rating. Upon my return and receiving the vehicle, I was told that all I needed now was a new set of spark plugs to be 100% good to go. After driving the van at highway speeds, I noticed an intermittent skip/kickdown in high gear. I later changed out the spark plugs and discovered that the technician had left a couple hand tools in my engine bay. Free tools for me as a bonus, I suppose. With the engine skip still occuring at high speed, I performed my own diagnosis. To my dismay, having disassembled the intake/injection system that I had just paid to be serviced, I found: #1:that the new injection system was installed incorrectly, with one injector improperly seated on the #8 cylinder #2: they had installed the cheapest intake gaskets available that had been superceded by a much better gasket, TSBs exist and it is common knowledge to use the newer version of intake gasket on these engines. Im surprised that the lower quality gaskets are even available #3: the intake components were not properly cleaned and resealed nor were new intake mount bolts used (standard procedure for any job of this nature). Needless to say, I performed my own repair of the above listed items and the van ran perfectly afterwards. I will note that I did not follow up with TrueTech to warranty their repair as I do not give second chances. Your experience may be better than mine, but make yourself aware that improperly installed parts of poor quality can ruin your vehicle.

This is my first review on Google and I feel obligated to write about this company and our awful experience there. I was referred to True Tech Auto from a co-worker for an issue with my car (It would not start) All said in done, we pay the high bill, get the car back and the next morning it wont start.. So we took it back to the shop again... upon getting the car back we learn that the mechanic BROKE my e-brake (They failed to even tell us that when we picked the car up, (way to be honest), -we discovered when we got home) and when I asked them about it they refused to fix it! What company does that??!! Now months later, the car is having the SAME issues again and so we took it back since they did the original work, paid them $180.00 - for new spark plugs and small diagnostic work (Again -OVER-PRICED) we get the car home and it what do you know- IT DOESNT EVEN START, when we called today for a reason why its not running when they said it does, the worker on the phone (Mike or Kevin) said "Hmmm, it should work" I will NEVER use this company again and I will make sure I can let the public know what a rip off this place is. What a horrible way to do business, -charging people for work and then handing back a car that doesnt even start!!, hiding and refusing to fix things they break in your vehicle, What an unethical company !. I will never pay them another penny or trust them with my car again, I cant afford to pay for work that is shoddy and does NOT even fix the car at all! RIP OFF, at least hand the customer back a car that runs if youre going to accept their money!!!! PS. I want my $180 back !

In more than 60 years of having cars repaired, I have never found an auto repair business as competent, fair, honest, reliable, and easy to do business with as TruTech Automotive in Hazel Dell. The owner, Mike Clark, has a wealth of experience, and takes a personal, hands-on approach to ensuring that each job is done right the first time. I was pointed to TruTech and Mike by several car buffs and leaders in our church, all of whom take their cars to Mike for work. Every time I visit the shop, I come across other customers with the same opinion of Mike and TruTech as mine, and these are often people Ive known and appreciated for years as trustworthy individuals. I do not see any reason to take my vehicles anywhere else for any kind of automotive work. Mike and his techs are very conscientious people who will earn your trust and loyalty. I have taken my vehicles to TruTech for the last three years -- and never been disappointed. This is an excellent business.

I was charged $158 for diagnostic work. The highest rate I have ever seen. The diagnostic work showed 2 spark plug problems, and the battery had to be replaced. No problem, until they wanted another $500 for that. I told them to stop everything they are doing. I ran down to pick up my vehicle, told the manager that I will take care of the battery replacement. They still wanted over $400 for 2 spark plugs on an easily accessible motor. I asked what he would charge for a regular tune up (including all plugs and wires). He quoted it at $250 (reasonable, but $400 for 2 spark plugs?). I found this shop to be way over priced. They were courteous, but I wont be going back again.

The staff here is not only great with cars but extremely courteous of the customers time. They had to order a part for my car from a dealership which they couldnt speed up that process any more then they did. I was then running late to pick my car up and they waited 20 minutes until after their closing time for me to get there. Brandon and the other employees are great mechanics but more importantly nice, genuine, friendly people. I will be going back here for everything even though I live on the other side of the city. Thank you!!

This place is wonderful, especially if you are buying a used car. We highly recommend coming here for a complete car inspection. It is reasonable and so worthwhile. We bought a used vehicle from a local dealership and because of True Tech we were told about two major areas that the dealership missed when doing their "used vehicle 160 point check". Thank you Mike and True Tech. You are Awesome!

They are excellent. Worked amazing with me and are truly the best team. They are heaven sent. They do not discriminate when it comes to cars, they work on classics and Volkswagens. They are truly care about their customers and doing the right thing rather than what is easiest and they can make the most money at.

I called early this morning to make an appointment so I could have my old ball joint pressed out and the new ones, that I received (same day), pressed in. Other shop wanted to charge over $100 for a simple 30 minute or less process. Mike was extremely helpful and had me out of there in 25 minutes.

True Tech has handled my fleet repairs for years. They have always been upfront and honest with every transaction I have ever had with them. I have always been taken care of professionally. I will continue to have them service my fleet of vehicles.
