Clean. Good equipment. The service is decent, but highly over priced for what it is. The trainers tend towards big boss man mentality, which can work for a certain demographic. Its not all bad. I tried an intro class recently, and spoke with a fella behind the counter about prices, class sizes, my experience levels and so on. Then I circled up for a group fitness session. After class I was happy with the knowledge and drills, but I knew the atmosphere wasnt right for me. The air has a top-down, cascade effect regarding respect. I used to be a pt and some folks actually do well with a little pressure from an authority figure, although some dont. I rolled over to the counter toplisten to the fellas sales pitch; who knows maybe hed flip me with some good points, and maybe Id buy a membership. Instead he came at me with different figures than we initially discussed. Plus other fees and an assurance I wouldnt find a better offer, "The other guys will rape you in price." I think he took it personally when I wasnt too keen to pay for a membership. Theyre an ok gym. Id recommend considering the following: Environment - clean Equipment - good Atmosphere - school yard; its ok, but theres better out there Knowledge - descent; on par with average trainers Price - higher than its worth Id recommend it to folks looking to try new and fun stuff, meet new people, and challenge themselves a little, and are OK being mock bullied by a gym guy. Its not for someone serious about training, or evolving as a fighter, or someone who is like, a green horn, and maybe a little self conscious. My reference: 15 years of boxing, 3 years as a personal trainer, and about a decade of martial arts background. I managed a few gyms in my early 20s from Vegas and Portland.

Ive been with this gym for years now, back when it was still under L.A. Boxing. Dont let the brand name fool you - this gym is only about self-improvement, learning something practical, and having a little fun. This isnt a gym that prides itself on being extreme (Crossfit) or a gym that leaves you to your own devices (24HF), here youll be led through a well-structured, high-energy workout, learning practical fighting techniques from professionals (also, the stress relief from punching bags and actually being good at it cannot be overstated). They continue to have a great group of people leading classes who know their stuff (all professional fighters), friendly people who can always answer questions and joke around. No drill instructors here. No one is going to hop on your case if your knees act up and you cant do some lunges, because were all there for the same reason. And it is challenging, for sure; each hour-long class is probably going to cost you between 800-1,000 Calories (make sure you hydrate beforehand). You will lose weight. And if you are mindful of your diet, add a little weight training (full selection of free weights and machines available), you will look toned and feel great. As for time, its a very flexible system; they have a stable weekly schedule of classes online, when I feel like coming in I just check that and stop by for a class. I meant to write this review for a long time now. When I recently had an issue and spoke with the management, theyve been so understanding and accommodating with a long-time customer like me that I decided not to put this off any longer. Its the perfect gym for me and I recommend it to everyone.

This place is a joke. I joined here in 2012, and they were okay. I rejoined in 2016 and they went bankrupt the day after taking my money. International fitness stopped them from having to permanently close their doors, so they stayed afloat. Ive never been to a gym ran as poorly as the ufc gym in Beaverton, and I suggest considering ANY other gym before you join this one. The training is mediocre at best, due to the fact they cant keep coaches for more than a year or so at a time. Any decent mma coach leaves due to a policy which requires the coaches to stop their personal training outside the ufc gym. Coaches need to build on their own skills in order to improve, but ufc gym policy disables this from happening. I have trained at several gyms throughout the country and have to say this is the second worst one Ive been to in over 10 years. They have also sent me to collections even though Im not under contract and have notified them before cancelling my membership. If you want GOOD mma training, this is NOT the place you want to be. If you want a workout, they do just fine, but beware of their scams in order to help their failing business. There are several gyms in the Portland metro area, and all of the ones Ive been to are better than them. I debated writing a review because I had my first fight through them at the Roseland theatre (while they were still LA Boxing) but this place is a disgrace in my opinion.

Im not sure who owns this gym, but they are to be reprimanded for the condition of the facility and basic equipment. Yes, they did bring in new equipment for the boxing components yet lack matts that dont have holes or smell. Foam rollers are broken down and need to be replaced. Walls are scared and need to be painted and all horizontal beams and wires have layers of dust and debris. Today I took sani spray and towels and wiped down a brown , moldy area under the paper towel dispenser upstairs and, surprise!, it started to come clean. I dont feel this gym would pass a health inspection. Yes, the cost is low, and I guess you get what you pay for. Im going to look around for another alternative.

Initially I wanted to try out boxing just for something different. I have had quite a few group boxing classes at this gym now with several different instructors. So far they have all been great! They have all had the balance of pushing me a little harder, but not making me feel bad if I need to take a short break. I have seen improvement in my stamina each week. The conditioning is really helpful and I have been slowly gaining better technique. I also tried a DUT class. The instructor kept the pace up and was positive and challenging!

They arent what they used to be. Before the new management took over, there were some great coaches and very diverse workouts, depending on which classes you went to and who was teaching at that time. The atmosphere used to be super friendly and motivating but since the move, the new management and turn overs in the trainers, I feel like a stranger in a place where I used to know everyone and no staff seem to be pursuing that inclusive environment. Its definitely not for me anymore, glad I am canceling my membership.

Been working out there for the last 5 months. I like to be pushed to workout hard and learn kickboxing among other disciplines. Each time I go grab a workout I get a wonderful workout! Im like a sponge full of sweat (sorry if that grosses you out) after a workout. Whereas, if I workout at the 24 hour place by myself its not nearly as good. Coaches have been very helpful when I want to learn something, IE, proper way to punch or kick. If youre in doubt, just do the trial thing and see if its for you.
