This is a great local community gym that is open 24 hour, something that i consider a must out of my gyms. If you are looking for a place to build muscle your cant ask for much better. The equipment tends to be a little on the old side but there is plenty of room and a very supportive staff. They also have a computer system that can help you develop and stay on track for your program. If you are into Cardio i would say that the place is a little disappointing. The equipment is old and there isnt much there. They do have plenty of TVs for your cardio and you can change the channel to whatever you want. Probably the best part of this place is the price. It is an amazing deal! If your looking for a local gym this is a place to check out. It isnt for everyone but you should look to see if it is for you.

I absolutely LOVE this gym. They have a great atmosphere and I actually look forward to going (I cant say that about any other gym Ive been a member of). When I sought out a gym I knew I wanted a place I was comfortable at, and this was it! I lost over 100 lbs here because of the supportive people (staff and customers). Everyone here is genuine and amazing. The personal training is also great and affordable. They really listen to your specific needs and customize your session specifically to you. You also cant beat their price for the monthly membership! I also really appreciate the support Jeff has given me. Every time I walk in for a work out he welcomes me with a warm smile and (usually) a high-five. His energy is contagious. Hes a great PT also.

Great place. The staff is helpful/approachable, the clientele is great, and the price is fantastic. My only complaint is that some of the equipment is a little beat up, but other than bent olympic bars it isnt really a problem. Some heavier kettlebells would be nice too, but these short comings arent stopping me from leaving a 5 star review. If you are a black iron kind of guy/girl you will be super happy here. Tons of bars, plates, 2 power cages, multiple benches. Best of all they have a deadlift platform with bumper plates, and squat stands. There are plenty of bikes/treadmills for the cardio crowd, and every machine/dumb bell/weird bar you could want.

Ive been going to Hollywood Fitness for over 3 years, and it has been a great experience. I always feel welcomed and its not a meat market, so its more comfortable for me to workout on my own. Everyone is usually very friendly and its not usually too busy. By far the best thing about the gym is my trainer, Jeff. He is enthusiastic, but not overly so, welcoming, and will get you results. Jeff has never made me feel bad for not always eating clean and he realizes we are still human and we are going to enjoy life and food! Its been really fun working with Jeff, and I encourage everyone to sign up with him!

Giants has been a great place to workout- friendly, affordable, extensive, diverse. However, the key to my fitness success there has been Personal Trainer, Jim Hnatow--WOW! WOW !!! He has retrained my mind AND body to make life-long fitness a reality. No matter how tired I am or how bad I feel at the end of a day, Jim, in his wisdom and positive attitude, turns my volume up and inspires me. I am stronger and healthier now than I have ever been thanks to Jim Hnatow. I cannot say enough about how great he is. Everyone should sign him up as their personal trainer, youll NEVER regret it. I have recently began working at Giants Gym for that past month and I have to say this is the greatest gym I have ever been a part of, and Ive worked in some elite gyms like NYSC when I used to live in New York. Giants Gym is Portland locally owned and the environment and staff are the best I have seen. The new PDX90 that Giants Gym has is a new and exciting program we rolled out that will get you in the best shape of your life in 90 days. Highly recommended if youre getting tired of all the big corporate "McDonalds of Fitness" gyms out there now like 24 Hour Fitness or Balleys

I think this is a great gym for people who want to support local business and dont like the feel of the gym chains like LA or 24. The staff has always been helpful and willing to give advice, there is a trainer for every personality type and walk of life here. They are expanding and adding new programs all the time it seems. Though the equipment is older and they lack a rowing machine, all the other elements are there. See Jeff for personal training, he could motivate anyone to obtain their fitness goals.

The people here are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the gym is never too crowded to get a machine. All the machines, including cardio equipment, are well-maintained, clean and do exactly what they should. The other gym members are friendly, too, and no one gives you judgy looks for almost passing out on the Stairmaster. Great gym. And the price is fantastic, especially compared to other local gyms we checked out when looking for a place to join — as in half the price in some instances.

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST. Giants was great while I was attending but 8 months ago (due to financial issues) I had to leave the gym. I have been charged for ALL 8 months since. I called George the Owner several times to get the issue fixed. He promised me to reverse the charges and refund my money, but I continue to get charged! I had to recently call my bank to change my debit card to no longer be charged by Giants. DO NOT GO!

This is definitely different than 24Hour Fitness. No lines, no crowds, laid back atmosphere, good customer service from the staff. I had the pleasure of getting an initial program from one of the trainers there. She was extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and motivating. She made me think of things I would never have thought of in my exercise program. It has really made a difference in the way I work out. Thank You Diana!

When I moved to Portland and went looking for a great gym, I came across Giants Gym. The owner spent time to find out what I wanted, didnt try to "sell me", and I have been a happy member for a year now. They are continually upgrading the place with new equipment, they clean like crazy, and its not crowded. And the price is affordable. I love giving my business to a local biz that reallys cares.

Its easy for me to vouch for this gym because of its knowledgeable and helpful staff, a plethora of equipment, its cleanliness, its lack of crowds, and that its open all the time. Ive been going to it for ten years and still see a number of folks who were here when I started so they obviously like it too. Id recommend joining today.

I recommend this gym to my friends all the time. However, the cardio area needs work (treadmills flip off if you are at a sprint), and the music is ALWAYS classic rock. Make sure to bring an mp3 player because the music is a bore. The staff will not change the station either, Ive asked numerous times.
