We own an old 1915 home here on the Eastside of Portland. Over the past 14 years Kaya has done several big remodels for us including installing a brick patio in our backyard, remodeling our kitchen, and adding a dormer to our second floor. This past week they did some demolition work in our basement to prepare for a specialty contractor who will come install a basement waterproofing system in the next couple of days. In a nutshell, our experience has been excellent. Greg Martin and his team are always fair, honest, courteous, and professional. They do good work and dont take advantage of homeowners. Most recently, we had a first rate experience with Hank who came to do some demolition work in our basement. In addition to being on time, professional, and courteous, Hank listened carefully to what our plans were for the basement and pointed out something significant that another contractor had not noticed. This could have had a significant negative impact on our workflow, but due to Hanks insight we were able to take steps to make sure that our overall project wasnt disrupted. Finally, over the years Ive had several friends or co-workers ask me if I "know a good general contractor who can take a look at their situation and provide an opinion/estimate." I always mention Kaya. Without exception, every one of them has come back to me and thanked me for connecting them with Kaya. They said Greg and his team were very helpful in their situation.

Greg and team did a fantastic job on my kitchen remodel! I started out with a different contractor and he ordered the cabinets. When that fell through, I contacted Kaya. They did a great job working with what was already ordered. I had current cabinets I wanted to re-use and they matched the white color to those I had. The design and height of the cabinets are slightly different, but they worked with me and gave great suggestions on different layouts. They did a great job in blending them in! I explained what I was looking for with the backsplash and flooring and they gave some suggestions. I love the outcome…the combination of the colors of the cabinets, the flooring, the backsplash and the walls are just what I was hoping for. I was traveling much of time, however, they always let me know when they would be there and the times they would be arriving and leaving. Hopefully next year I will be able to have them redo my living room floors.

They took way too long and they never finished the job. It was an insurance claim. They told me they didnt need any payment until they were finished with the job.They finished the roof, and that was good work, but they bugged us about getting the rest of the money before the job was finished. As soon as they got the rest of the money they never showed back up to finish. They didnt even come back for their sign. Straight pathetic. I wouldnt hire them again.

Second time I used them. Once for a major remodel of the entire house which included plumbing, electrical, kitchen and bathroom and more recently a beautiful deck in the back yard. Great work, great attitude, fair price, trustworthy.
