They allotted only 1 day and 2 men to do the out-of-state delivery. Their original quote apparently didnt include unpacking, and they didnt schedule for it. I told them I believed I was very clear that I needed unpacking on the day the owner came to my home to do the estimate. I dont know how there could have been miscommunication because I know I stated I wanted all packing materials and boxes removed after the delivery was completed. They did agree to honor the estimate and include the unpacking service. Since the movers would be travelling out-of-state and had already booked travel, I had misgivings that there wouldnt be adequate time to complete all of that in one day with just the 2 men but decided to leave it to the professionals. I should have listened to my gut on that one and told them not to do the unpacking and focus instead only on the move and reassembly of the furniture because neither the unpacking nor the reassembly were done anywhere near satisfactorily. I wish I could attach the photos I took of the job done, particularly the ones of my master bedroom bed, to this review because they really would be sum it up well without the need to write anything further. On the day there was one very, very busy guy, who appeared to be doing the assembly of most everything on his own. Even the king-sized bed. The second guy mostly seemed to take it easy slowly unpacking kitchen boxes. Around midday the busy guy seemed to have explained to the second guy the hour and sheer volume of work still to be done, and from that point the movement of boxes/items and their unpacking looked frenzied. Where care was taken at the beginning, it appeared desperate by mid-afternoon and worsened the later it got. If it wasnt clear to me then that my gut was right, it was in the days that followed. The king sized bed was damaged from being assembled incorrectly. There are two sets of grooves on each side of the headboard and footboard where the sideboards are attached. On the left side the same grooves werent used, and this caused the wood on the sideboard to split down the center. On the other side the same grooves were used, but the outside grooves were necessary in order to accommodate the mattress (as it was originally assembled in my previous home). The posts on all four of the four-poster bed werent fitted tightly and needed a handymans attention in order to reset them. All four were fitted correctly and not wobbly before the move. One cursory look at the legs of the bed frame underneath, and it was almost unbelievable that someone left half of them hanging inches from the floor and rendering support in some places underneath the mattress nonexistent. Some of the legs making contact were leaning sideways from bearing the uneven load. Again I do wish I could attach photos here. I had the headboard, footboard, and sideboards repaired, and in the process discovered that some of the parts were missing in the first place. My desk didnt make it in the same condition as it was originally. Some of the hardware on my guestroom bed also went missing, and it was left to me to make my way to the hardware store to make do. The unpacking was a disgrace. There was a trail of small items from the driveway into the house. I noticed at a certain point that, rather than bring in the original boxes in which things were packed, the busy guy decided to unpack and unwrap items and throw them into a single large box, which is how I presume items fell out on their way into the house. Those items included photos. In spite of all this, I wasnt going to write a scathing review until I discovered a professional portrait of a deceased loved one that Id requested be carefully packed and which had cost several hundred dollars had been thrown in one of those above-mentioned large boxes without so much as bubble-wrap on it. Merely paper around it and surrounded by objects with metal edges. Its mostly undamaged fortunately aside from a small scrape on the surface of the photo. That is something I wasnt willing to let slide.

Really wanted to like these guys but there were just too many problems. I scheduled an 8am move about 2-3 weeks before my move date, so they had plenty of time to prepare for move. Nothing was last minute. I had a coupon for $30 off that I emailed about but was ultimately ignored, I figured whatever. Come moving day, at 8:30am, I got a call saying they would be a couple hours late, maybe 11am. I was annoyed that I was getting the call when they were supposed to be there, rather than earlier or even the day before but again thought whatever. At 11ish I was trying to call since no one was calling me. I had to spam call around 5 times to finally be annoying enough to get a call back. I felt like my calls were being screened much like the coupon email was being ignored. More delay, now they are saying 2pm. I needed to cancel multiple plans with others since I was planning on being done by then. This is when I started getting pretty angry. 2pm rolls around and I get a call from the movers, they are on the way but they are in Newburg. NEWBURG?! It takes them another hour and a half to show up. In my eyes, they are now 7 hours late. This was not acceptable in any way. I lost out on work, money, and canceled plans due to lack of communication. I felt bad for the guys who moved me, because I overheard the movers talk about how this was their 3rd job and had to go to a 4th, I paid in cash because I wanted to tip (regardless of being ignored about the coupon and movers being 7 hours late). But to add insult to injury, they had forgot to give the cash payment to the office so they double charged me on my card. This ultimately over drafted my account resulting in more money lost for me. I would not recommend this company, dont expect open and honest communication/timelines.

This is the second time we moved with Redefyne. The first time, they filled the truck and ran out of space. We had to leave some items behind and give them away to goodwill. Not a huge deal, it happens when you estimate load vs truck size. However, the second time, knowing we left the first time, we requested the same size or larger than before. This is less than a year later mind you (sold house, rented in a new city until we found a new house to purchase). We even took a pickup and trailer load along with several minivan trips so we should have PLENTY of room. Movers showed up in a smaller truck than before! They said it was about 200sqft smaller than the last truck. This time, its PURELY their fault. It cost me a second trip with a trailer and borrowed truck, and 8 hours of my time to travel to/from to get the load. Their estimate? $1300. Total came out to over $1800. Why? The explanation was that the labour was more (5 hours to load, took them 2 last time) to load the truck because they had to save every inch since it was so full! They had to disassemble furniture, which of course we paid $90 an hour for them to do. We re-assembled it ourselves. So we paid twice, once in the labour to pack it so tight, and again with the second trip for what they still couldnt fit. Ultimately they failed twice. The first because they didnt send a large enough truck as requested and documented. They failed again by ignoring their failure with no attempt to make it right in the slightest. The movers packed it all tightly with very little damage (few scuffs here and there).
