I have used ACE four times with pretty good results. Our first time was a full detail of our 2001 Honda Accord. They did a very good job cleaning everything and polishing it up. They even got some ink pen stains out of the leather door panel. When I picked it up the only thing I noticed that wasnt perfect was there was a bit of dirt residue still in the trunk drip channel. When I got home I washed that out with water and a tooth brush until all that was left was a very little dirt that I couldnt get out of the weld seams. However, the next day I noticed the windshield had been hit right at the edge of the bottom of the window. It was so low I had not noticed it - it was so low that about half of the impact was hidden below the plastic trim along the bottom between the window and the hood. It looked like something very hard had impacted it - almost like a ball peen hammer - leaving a a round area of crushed glass. Because I could not say 100% for certain that this happened at the shop I did not make any accusations and just fixed it out of pocket. The next experience was having paintless dent repair to my 2009 Pontiac Vibe. I was very pleased with the outcome and there was only a minor hiccup. I had a very bad dent in the drivers door where a loaded shopping cart had hit it. Two deep gouges from the cart basket plus upper and lower bowing of the door. I was quoted $736 to fix the door at a body shop. I think ACE charged me about $125-145 to fix it. I was amazed out how well it turned out. The only evidence of prior damage was one of the deep gouges did remove some paint, although the other was apparently just some transferred plastic from the cart as it completely buffed out. The sheet metal itself is flawless - only a bit of paint is rubbed away from the cart impact. They also removed a half-dollar sized dimple in the leading edge of the hood that came out perfect. Finally, there was a dent on the "clam shell" hood that went right up to the edge where the hood rolls over down to the fender. ACE was not sure if they could get it fixed because it sent up to the edge and because there was limited access from underneath because of structural bracing. I would say it turned out 95% better. If you look low at the hood and can see a reflection it is possible to see just a little bit of warped sheet metal. I could not be happier with that. The hiccup I mentioned was that when I came pick up the vehicle the first time the technician had not even touched the two spots on the hood. He had missed them or didnt realize they were an issue, even though they were circled in hot pink dry erase marker. The last thing that ACE has done for us was to fix a dent in the front bumper cover of the Vibe. We were looking for a budget repair this time and did not want to pay extra for both paint and the replacement of the clear bra that is on the car. ACE removed the bumper, popped out the dent and smoothed out the plastic cover as best as they could. They even popped out the original vent covers and replaced them with chrome fog light bezels that I had obtained years before and never put on - at no extra charge. I would recommend ACE for any type of repair or detail work. They did a great job on everything, were very friendly, and were willing to shuttle me to work about 10 minutes away from the shop.

Work done on my car so far: 1. Detailing 2. Replacement of window tints. 3. Application of tail light and rear bottom reflector smoke paint. 4. Installation of aftermarket carbon fiber rear diffuser, front lip and rear wing and Installation of aftermarket mud flaps. 5. Repair of front bumper after an accident. 6. Repair of deep scratch on rear bumper. Pros: 1. Competitive pricing on labor costs compared to other shops in the area. 2. They do outstanding repairs on bumpers (they do average/decent to very good work for the rest of the body) 3. Friendly staff and are flexible with scheduling. 4. Theyll install aftermarket body parts for you and do a pretty good job at troubleshooting fitment and modifications. 5. Although Ive never used it the offer loaner cars too. 6. Close vicinity to a public transportation stop. 7. Cheaper than most larger body shops by hundreds of dollars with workmanship quality thats about the same as higher end body shops. If you believe that because you paid more and therefore the quality is better, then go to Leifs; Leifs will swear theyre superior because they used great parts and youre car is safer for it or something (without any real data to back it up; e.g. does a Leif-repaired car fair better after an accident than others? Who knows? Leifs doesnt, but they claim it-will)...when all you wanted to do was remove a scratch from your bumper. 8. They offer a giftcard to Burgerville for your review. Cons: 1. Every single time Ive had my car done there the invoice was ALWAYS higher than their initial estimates by at least 15%-20% or more. ALWAYS! 2. I dont blame the technicians that work on the car, but some service reps that work there (one lady in particular) dont really follow instructions very well. I had my windows tinted there. The tints came out nicely, but I specifically requested of the lady handling my work that I dont think works there anymore, that if the tint replacements were going to look the same as the ones they were replacing to go with a shade darker with the tints instead; they replaced my tints with the same exact shade of tint I had before. Why would I replace perfectly good tints for the same exact ones? Youd think they would at least verify that this is what I wanted before they proceeded. There was no written document of what the work was supposed to be done specifically except that the tints were to be replaced. So it wouldve been difficult to argue that I had verbally instructed for darker tints than the original one. 3. Lack of attention to detail. Youd think theyd take a look at the whole car after theyre done just to make sure everything looks okay and clean. Every work Ive had done there on my bumper always comes back with the bumper not quite aligned or securely flush with the rest of front or rear panels, e.g. theres always a gap on top where the bumper connects to the fenders and etc. Often times there were smudges or dirt on other parts of the car that obviously was not protected during the work, adding work for me when I finally notice it when I get home. 4. There are cheaper places to get your car detailed for the same result elsewhere. Specifically, if you get your car detailed at places that just does detailing. 5. They offer a gift card to Burgerville for a review.

There is both GOOD and BAD to this place. Yet, youll notice I provided a 5* rating. How can there be bad for a 5* rated place? Well I got in on their Groupon offer for a 2-window car tint (just needed front windows tinted). But, relative to the price that I paid for the service provided, I give it 5*. If I had paid more, would I still have given it a 5* rating? Probably not. The GOOD: 1) Its been a little over 2-weeks now and the tint job looks fantastic. Obviously only time will tell, but happy thus-far. 2) Website listed that they needed the car for 6-hours. I was out the door in about 1.5 hours, so they were prompt and efficient. 3) Perhaps it was simply the date I chose, but scheduling was VERY easy. 4) All staff I interacted with were very friendly. 5) Website indicated they offer a rental car for the day for $10 -- I didnt take them up on the offer (instead just brought a Kindle to read), but seems like a good deal on a rental and their office suited my needs for reading just fine. 6) Free wifi (albeit took a little while before the person who knew the password came in). The BAD: 1) $5 charge per door panel to be removed. Not a big deal, but wasnt mentioned on Groupon site and wasnt mentioned when I made the booking. (I will add that their fee for door panel removal *IS CHEAPER* than other window tint shops... still would have been nice to know.) 2) They didnt provide any after-care instructions. Having had other windows previously tinted, I knew not to roll the windows down for a bit... and the tape over the window controls reminded me... but I had to confirm how long before I could roll windows down. Equally, I know with some window tints (not sure if its universal), you have to be careful what you wash windows with (i.e.: windex can ruin the tint) -- nothing mentioned about this. Perhaps window tint is better? 3) No idea what kind of window tint was used. I know it is legal limit tint (they said the %, I dont remember what it is), but no idea whether the tint itself is top-notch or bottom-barrel... Perhaps there really is no difference except marketing hype and its all about the installation, but would have been nice to know what Im getting. 4) No info provided/stated about warranty. Clearly I hope I dont *need* a warranty and that the job they did is fantastic, and perhaps there is no warranty... *IF* I develop a problem, Ill update my review to reflect accordingly, but otherwise, who knows. As can be seen above, the list of cons isnt all that profound, and again, tint looks great.
