Theres an older (Cambodian?) veteran with grey hair who works here who is the epitome of poor service. He allegedly delights in taking as long as he can with everything when theres a line, in order to hold it up even more for everyone. I was told this by a postal worker from a different location in Portland, and my experiences with him have been true to the tale. Apparently this guys famous for being a bad employee. USPS probably faces difficulty in letting him go due to his veteran status, which is unfortunate. Even my coworkers are familiar with the woes of having to deal with this guy. Dont bother telling him thank you at the end of your transaction, either; he wont respond. Hell only show you one option for shipping initially. Even after asking to see the other options, hell just give you one at a time and pretend like there arent any others. Getting anything accomplished at this location is like pulling teeth because of him.

Consistent disappointment and frustration. Packages delayed for no reason (tracking info say they sit at the post office for a bit before being sent out for delivery), one package delivered but another to be delivered on the same day isnt for some reason that doesnt even make sense for where I live, people that work there look like they are eager for death and arent capable of mustering even politeness and a smile. Customer service hold time is 45 minutes and their help form online has errors and doesnt work. Once a package of mine was marked delivered but wasnt, so I called them and we deduced that it mustve been stolen. After I contacted the police and the shipper, USPS tells me its actually just hanging out at the post office for no reason and I need to come pick it up. Ive never had worse mail service in my life.

I give it 0 stars, or - 2 stars. Absolutely incompetent. Forwarded mail never received at new address...called the office multiple times, always hung up on when transferred or never answered at all. I had to drive into Portland from new home in Milwaukie, spoke to the super for the PO...the people were nice enough, but no one seems to know what happened to my mail. Apparently it is held up in Seattle!! But the mailing I received from USPS stated mail would be forwarded by Dec 19...22 DAYS AGO!!! There was no solution...just told to come back in a week. Why is it that organizations that you are at the mercy of rarely seem to want to solve their customers problems? I think I am fast becoming an advocate of privatization...and this from a bleeding heart liberal!!

Ive never been treated so rudely. And this is supposed to be a government agency. I had a simple question. When the person behind the counter could not answer it he got frustrated and gave me lots of attitude so I asked to speak to the postmaster. The supervisor answered my simple question and on my way out the door the person behind the counter yelled at me over and over are you satisfied are you satisfied are you satisfied.?!!!

Complete and utter disregard for public safety. They dont care if your packages are stolen (mult. times) nor do they want to present any solutions for it. They refuse to leave a note rather than leave a package on a porch so anyone walking by can pilfer it. I rated them 1 star because there is no option to rate 0 stars. Avoid the postal workers at this location LIKE THE PLAUGE. Take your $ anywhere else...

Ive been here twice and had good experiences. My phone call was answered promptly before I came down and I got pretty fast service (there wasnt much of a line at 12:45) and Lauren helped me out today, suggesting the best option for my mail- even helping me shave 50 cents off my total by choosing the right envelope. Pleasant experience.

Sensitive mail(checks, credit card bills, etc.) has been delivered to the wrong addresses several times over the past week. Would like to tell them of this problem. However, the SE 7th post office location doesnt answer their phone. Tried many times. Looks like I need to go to that location to talk with them. Bad, very very bad.

I went on my lunch break to send a package, waited in line for 25 minutes behind FOUR people, and had to leave before I could even get to the front because there was NO ONE at the counter to help. There were employees walking around, but they had no intention of helping any of us. Im pissed I cant lève less than a star.

The slooooooooowest post office Ive ever been to. Great place to go if you like waiting in line for at least 30-40 minutes. Parking lot is always full and you have to back out onto the street to leave. No sense of urgency from the staff to keep the line at less than 8-10 people waiting at any time.

Want to experience incompetence at its best??? Then this is the post office for you! Unfriendly, dumb as rocks staff that doesnt understand the concept of holding mail for pickup. One postal worker says yes the other says no. No one really seems to know what theyve doing.

Im not saying they havent lost my packages. Im not saying theyre fast. What Im saying is this: its a post office. Say yes when they ask if you want to track your package. They are the friendliest post office around! The post master here is lovely.

Their drivers are lovely (most of them), however whoever is in charge of the phone line is not doing a very good job. The phone is never picked up, and if it is theyll hang up immediately because youve already called them 10 times.

my favorite post office in portland! usually a good sample of great new stamps for a smaller office. always reasonably patient and forbearing. some mean people occasionally show up, but most folks in line are pretty cool.

Went here to pickup a package and it was lost. Thats a bummer but it happens. They spent 20 minutes looking and told me to call back later. Ive been trying for 3 hours and no one has picked up the phone. Way to go folks.

Sometimes its slow here, sometimes its aggressively slow. This is not the fault of the employees, it seems like there just arent as many folks on duty as is warranted by the amount of people they serve.

Horrible. Critically understaffed, sullen & uncommunicative, absurdly long waits for routine things like picking up mail. Like being in purgatory except that I think Lord Hades is a bit more cheerful.

Bare bones. I usually go to this post office on Saturday and all that is offered is one self-serve kiosk that is bulky and slow. Large packages are not compatible with this kiosk/drop off boxes.

I ran in here the other day, and the associate who helped me went over and above, and didnt have to. I didnt have an appointment, but quickly helped me anyway. Its the little things, sometimes.

Been in here twice to buy 300+ postcard stamps. The first time they gave us the wrong kind of stamps, the second they didnt have enough postcard stamps and staff was rude and unprofessional.

I still dont know what the hours are. Poor service. If this was a privately owned business it would have ceased to exist years ago.
