A wretched egomaniac named Rodney Davis, yes, hes a USPS employee, was so eager to cut out early for the afternoon that he refused to let me buy a book of stamps. Im now crusading for Rodneys dismissal. Heres the complaint I lodged with his employer. On Friday, March 4 at 4:58PM, I stopped into the USPS at 630 Northeast Killingsworth Street in Portland, Oregon to buy a book of stamps. The outer and inner doors were both unlocked, yet as I tried to approach the counter (there was no automated postage machine on the premises) I was physically blocked by Rodney Davis, a rude, insulting, wildly unhelpful employee who deserves to be FIRED. He claimed that it was 5 oclock and the placed was closed. It wasnt closed. The woman stationmaster had already left for the day and lazy Rodney wanted to close up shop early. There were only 2 customers in line and 3 windows were open. I tried to reason with him -- I just wanted to get some stamps. He stood like there like a total creep, refusing to admit me. Rodney Davis clearly abused his power, and whats more, his actions were racially motivated. Hes ebony black, and Im white. It was pouring down rain outside, and as I mentioned to him Id walked about 20 blocks -- why cant I just BUY some stamps and well call it a day? He refused. If Id been black, he would have let me in. Let me stress that it was not yet 5PM, and the place wasnt crowded with customers. Rodney Davis could have easily and kindly let me make my purchase, but he was too arrogant to do so. WHATS WORSE, Rodney Davis had the AUDACITY to drag another customer into our exchange. It wasnt anyone elses business, except his and mine, and yet Rodney starts telling this other person, not a postal employee, about my need to buy stamps on a day when Rodney wants to take off early. Rodney Davis obstructed my entrance on an afternoon of brutally, punishing weather, and then he smugly ridiculed me to my face. This might sound minor, but it isnt. He probably commits abuses like these all the time and very possibly some that are worse. Given the weather, my mode of transport (walking), and the simplicity of my request, Rodney Daviss act of obstruction was cruel, sadistic, uncalled for, unprofessional. He was also lying about the time. My transaction would have taken less than 2 minutes, but all Rodney Davis cared about was aggressively abusing his authority. FIRE HIM!!!! Also, I want an apology (by email) from the stationmaster for her employees hateful and provoking behavior.

Rodney Davis is my favorite postal employee I have ever encountered. Ive only witnessed him be extremely friendly, kind and good humored with every customer in the past 6 years of using this post office. Hes clearly a very good natured man whos been working in this neighborhood for years. I think you really need to check your language, because you not being able to buy stamps 1-2 minutes before the post office is closed by a single employee on a friday is not "cruel, sadistic, uncalled for, unprofessional," "creep," "wretched," "abuse," "hateful" or "racially motivated," it probably just means you should be there within business hours instead of feeling entitled to be helped when a business is clearly closing and the registers are probably closed. I think its absolutely absurd that you accuse him of being racist, while you include your qualification of him being "ebony black" without qualifying your whiteness.

Had literally the worst experience here. I waited in line an hour, not anyones fault it just how it was that day. The cashier was a royal cu** to me. I asked for her help with packaging and she told me they should teach people how to fold boxes and write addresses in school. I do not go to the post office often and I know that I lack some basic mail skills but I asked for help and waited in line an hour for my turn, I paid $30 for two packages and all Debbie gave me was sarcasm and ahe tried to get me to go to the end of the line. Full disclosure I told her that I hope people are nice to her and I hope ahe gets a rest, she wad still a b*** to me. I hope Debbies manager sees this, I understand it was a hard day for her but the attitude is way uncalled for.

That is funny that others have as well. Nice people I think I accidently cock blocked the charming elderly teller and this woman in purple on a fabulously rainy day. They were having extended convo then I interupted it and she had to go out in the rain gave me a dirty look for that. It was a sweet scene. I just had to drop something off but I didnt want to just throw it at the guy. I should have though if in similiar situation just toss it at him he wont mind. It may be because it operates as a secret hide out it is discreet. Has any one gone to the Piedmont Post office? It shows up on the map but seems like a house. Some one should review it. Maybe Ill get around to it.

The employees here are incredibly rude. I was scolded by a middle-aged employee for coming in 20 minutes after five as she tried to convince me that they were closed, when the door was opened and it says the store is opened until 6pm on Wednesday. I find it really unfortunate as a tax payer that our public servants are probably so overworked that they cannot contain their anger when confronted with an uncomfortable situation, but all the same, I should not have been treated so rudely when the mistake was the US Postal Services on their website, and not my own.

It is hard for me to write a negative review because I really like some of the PO employees I have met at this branch. That said, as a full time eBay, Amazon, Etsy seller, this branch costs me money. Numerous errors...... mishandling, mis-routing and the worst...... not scanning a package as "received". To be "top rated" on eBay you must have a package scanned into the USPS system with 24hrs of receiving an order. I have asked and asked the employees at this branch to scan. I never have this problem at the Kenton or down town branch.

Theres an elderly counter lady here with dyed hair - I looked but she doesnt wear a name badge - who is just downright mean. Shes just loves to moan about everything and is rude to pretty much every customer. Im now at the point where I dont mind her and look forward to the verbal sparring that inevitably takes place, regardless of the transaction. Its such a shame. The rest of the staff could be really nice - the guy I spoke to on the phone today was very helpful - but when this is the customer facing part of the operation......FAIL.

Today I stood in line for at least an hour. There were at least 18 people in the room waiting for the one woman at the window. Many people had multiple packages and other business. It is disheartening to see that Postal management does not think that the Piedmont Post Office needs more staff and chooses to treat customer service in such a casual and neglectful manner. Another postal service worker needs to be transferred from a less active post office to work here at Piedmont.
