I have been having a plumbing problem for the past two days, calling plumber after plumber. They were all too busy or wanted to do the work after hours on double time. This morning, Friday 12/30/16, I called A-1 Plumbing and immediately got Sara who couldnt have been nicer and wanted to help me ASAP. She surprised me by saying a plumber could be sent between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. today. I was almost speechless and she would call me back when they were on the way. Jeff and Zack arrived and immediately checked the problem areas and gave me an estimate. They went to work and I am proud to say that the professional manner, attitude and the skill they displayed just made me change plumbers. Ive already told Jeff that when the weather gets warmer I have another project that I want him to take care of. Also, since the homes in this area are in an HOA, I will be writing a letter to the board to add A-1 Plumbing on the list that they give out to all the home owners of companies who are the best to handle any repairs they may have on there homes. I cannot say enough good things about A-1. I had problem with my kitchen sink and disposal. I called and they were there within 90 minutes. They diagnosed the problem within minutes and took the time to explain it to me. They had the parts and equipment to fix the problem immediately. No running back to the shop for parts. Not only were they prompt, but they were professional, courteous and upfront with me. They told me what it would cost to fix the problem and that is exactly what I paid. They did not find any "hidden problems" once they got started. They were also very neat. They wore the "little blue booties" and were careful not to scratch or mark my floors or cabinets while they worked. When they were done, they cleaned up completely and there was no sign that they were ever there. Except for the fact that my sink and disposal were fixed. I read the prior poor review and my experience with A-1 was completely opposite. In the future, when I have a plumbing problem, I wont even think about calling anyone else. I will go straight to A-1 Plumbing.

A-1 Plumbing was absolutely amazing! Things have been very stressing in the past couple weeks from my father passing away, our roof shingles in our back yard, illness and a tie rod breaking on commercial! When the City of Salem knocked on my door I was literally in tears. I called A-1 plumbing and spoke with Brandi who is so sweet, helpful, understanding and she made me feel so much better and reassured me they would take care of it and would work with us. John Hill showed up shortly after, very professional and friendly. He fixed the pipe and waived the after hours fee and the price was very affordable! Not only did they come to my rescue the same day, they understood our circumstances with my husband being out of town and agreed to let us pay them over the phone the next day with credit card. This was the least stressful disaster I have had lately, I could honestly give them the absolute most highest recommendation! Thank You!

Dont do it! A-1 bids by the job not by the hour, which turned out extremely costly due to inflated job charges. A-1 charged me $133 to replace washers on the kitchen faucet; $133 to replace washers on the utility sink; and $199 to replace washers on the tub/shower. Plumber was at my house 1.8 hours. It cost $465 to have washers replaced in three sinks. That is $258 per hour or $77.5 per washer. washers . . . The cost seemed extreme so I called the office to ask if it was a mistake. She calmly told me they are a "service company," whatever that means, and their prices are higher than others. Do I feel stupid? Yes. Was I ripped off? Seem like it. I didnt want to pay $39 for an estimate so I went ahead and had A-1 do the work. I wont hire A-! again and dont recommend them. They did good enough work but the price is absurd.

Plumbers are expensive and I know that and others should also. Travis, the plumber, was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful and willing to help answer any questions I had. They were not trying to see how much money they could get out of me but trying to solve the problem in the most cost effective way. The staff on the phones was very helpful and worked things around to come out as soon as possible to fix our leak. I would very much recommend them to anyone who needs a plumber. You can also tell they care about their staff. It was great that they gave me a call to let me know exactly how long until he would be there also so I could be ready for them. Do wish that they would itemized how much everything is to get a better understanding of the price.

A1 was Johnny on the spot with us. we had a leak at the drain valve on our water heater. When they showed up the plumber suggested I just get a hose cap to stop it from leaking. then took the time to explain the life expectancy of a water heater. Ours was well over that and didnt heat very well. they went over our options for a new one and we talked about the different types and gave us a quote. After speaking with my wife we decided to go ahead and replace it now before it went completely out. we scheduled the appointment and again were there when they said they would be. The office staff was awesome and communicated with us before and after the installation. Very professional and we will be sure to use them again.

On 10/12/2011 we had a complaint that a toilet was running excessively (compared to the other toilet) and we wanted it repaired . We called a1 , and they replaced a cartridge for 267.00. This did not fix it .. We had him return a week later. He told us at this point we needed the toilet replaced. Not sure of the quote at the time. I took the day off work on 3/16/2012, and had A1 return on 3/16/2012 to get a realistic quote on the repair. We were quoted 598.00 for a new toilet. I decided to purchase the parts online and repair it ourselves, which we did. The total cost was 99.00 for the replacement pieces. I WOULD NEVER USE A-1 PLUMBING. MY HUSBAND CALLED AND STATED HE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR BAD REVIEWS AND THEM CHARGING $436.00. THE OFFICE MANAGER TOLD HIM THERE WOULD BE A $56.00 DRIVE CHARGE AND A $150.00 MINIMUM. MY HUSBAND ASK COULD I TELL THEM TO STOP WHEN THEY GOT TO THE $150.00 AND SHE STATED SHE HAD NEVER BEEN ASKED THAT BEFORE. TURNS OUT THAT IS THE CHARGE JUST TO COME OUT, $206.00 WITH NO WORK DONE AND GUESS WHAT THE ESTIMATE WAS $436.00 FOR A TOTAL OF 1 1/2 HOUR AND WITH HIS EQUIPMENT THE PLUMBER COULDNT EVEN TELL WHICH DIRECTION HE WAS GOING OR HOW FAR HE WENT. I HAVE SINCE SPOKEN TO ANOTHER COMPANY THEIR CHARGE FOR AND HOUR IS $250.00 FOR TWO MEN AND THE EQUIPMENT (WORK PREFORMED)
