5 star business hands down ! ! ! "Wouldnt believe it , had it not happened to me. " Its not very often I would find myself taking the time to review a business for their service. I was rather surprised and feel that it is even a rarer occasion however, ( probably just by plain old good luck), that I was pointed in the direction of Brooks Automotive by a local, but friendly competitor of theirs. I was rather dumbstruck at the way the local competing businesses stuck together in a way that made one feel good about this place (Brooks, Or.) kinda made me feel like I hobbled into Mayberry, for lack of a better way to phrase it. Brooks is several miles north of Salem Oregon just east off the I-5 fwy, I cant think of a more fortunate place to have a fan belt tensioner pulley bearing blow apart and fail.. I was readying for a lengthy wait, and an "out-of-towner" repair bill, but to my amazement, (even with two service techs short that day) they immediately (and very accurately diagnosed the nightmare, I had no idea what happened I just heard a big noise from the hood) then they promptly called and ordered a new tensioner pulley, which arrived in less than half an hour, and bang!....I was back on the road inside an hour. .........un-frickin-believable!!! Along with the incredibly fast service , I was greeted by the friendliest people I have met in a long time ....I immediately knew that I was led to the right place ! I was treated as royalty by an automotive repair shop !!! (should be called an auto clinic, these guys are like doctors!) It s a cryin shame there isnt enough businesses sharing the same ideals as this one does , they obviously regard customer service as paramount to their business survival, and I believe with this approach they will be around for a long while. I would recommend them to anyone ! Kudos to you Rob, ....Dont change a thing !!! For starters I just want to say that I really dont care for mechanics in general. I have worked on cars since I was a little boy with my dad. Anytime I ever took a vehicle somewhere, the mechanic always tried to nickle and dime the crap out of me. Not here! As a matter of fact I tried Brooks Automotive out because of the reviews found here. He gave me a good honest quote on the transaxle work that I needed done and then gave me his opinion on a possible better solution. He suggested just replacing the transaxle since it would only cost slightly more and I wouldnt have to worry about other potential problems with the transaxle. I opted to just replace the transaxle. A day before I was suppose to drop it off (which I decided on when I could drop it off) I still was unable to come up with all the money needed for the repair. I called them up and let them know. They managed to shave over $200 off the cost of repair to fit my budget! After picking up my car, I was reassured that I had made the right choice. It actually appears as if they fixed more than the transaxle. They told me of an issue with my starter and they fixed it the best they could given the limited budget I was working on but suggested I have it replaced soon. Lastly, when I went to pay, he asked for exactly what we had decided on when I called the day before I dropped my car off. Not "well, we werent expecting to have this problem" or "you didnt pick it up right away so storage will be..." or anything like that. In closing, I just want to say that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop. I do all of my own engine work but should I have transaxle issues (highly doubt it given the quality that I can feel when shifting) I will definitely be back.

Rob and company at Brooks automotive service any type of automobile and provide fast and courteous customer service at the same time! I have visited other independent service shops, especially others, in Salem, that specialize in the type of vehicle that I own, but they dont provide near the customer service that Brooks Automotive does. Fixing a car is more than replacing parts, but providing honest, educated information to the vehicle owner. Brooks Automotive does that, and does it well. Brooks Automotive has a customer for life, in me.

What a great experience! I broke down traveling south on I-5 from Seattle to Eugene. Thankfully, Brooks Automotive came to the rescue!! Rob and Rayna were just awesome! While Rayna and her dog took care of me in the lobby (they have great WIFI so I actually got some work done), Rob quickly diagnosed the problem and got me back on the road. I would highly recommend Brooks as I know a little bit about cars and I KNOW Rob was honest and trustworthy. Thanks ROB and RAYNA, wish you guys were up in Seattle so you can take care of all of my cars!

Fantastic customer service. I came in because my dashboard brake light has turned on, the owner came out (wearing a boot on his leg), did a quick check, topped off my break fluid, did a test drive with me, and at the end didnt charge me a penny! Very friendly, informative, told me what to watch for, what to tell another mechanic when I get home (several hundred miles away). I probably wont see them again, but you Should.

Broke down on I-5 on vacation and limped into Brooks Automotive. They opened the shop early to diagnose. When determined much more severe, they gave me a lift to rental car agency and got me back on the road. They then completed the repairs in time for me to pick-up on my way back North. The mechanics even helped me transfer luggage between cars. Outstanding service for a weary traveler. Price was excellent too.
