Background: I bought a car from the Capitol Toyota in August 15 (my first car). I want to point out that the sales staff was friendly, but a little hasty to make a sell. The car I purchased had just come into the lot and wasnt put through all of the checks. Ended up having to take it in to have the issue fixed - I contacted customer service and everything they fixed it up, no problem. My Experience/Repair and Service Staff: When I was checking out the car, I noticed that the door locks werent functioning properly. From the car door, I could lock the car but not unlock it. From the key fob, I could unlock the car but not lock it. The sales rep was incredibly friendly and easy to work with. I asked the sales representative about this issue and was assured that it was probably a faulty key fob and that it would be a quick $30 fix (order another fob online and program it). I didnt inquire any further and was pretty happy with the car otherwise. To reiterate, this issue existed before I picked up the car. I ordered the keyfob and attempted to program it myself. After a couple of hours of being unsuccessful, I decided to take it to the shop (faulty switch or something). I went to Capitol Subaru to get it checked out. I found out that the problem was related to a much larger issue which put me on the line for a large repair cost (Body Integrated Unit, keys, and key fob all needed to be replaced). Customer Service Having the unit replaced at my cost was not an option (didnt have the funds). I sent a message to their customer service about my particular experience and frustration with the situation. According to their pre-sales inspections, the issue at hand should have been fixed/address before I came into ownership of the car. I received a phone call from the customer service representative notifying me that they would be taking care of the unit at no cost. Overall: I am happy to say that I highly recommend Capitol Auto Group (Toyota and Subaru specifically) and would likely buy my next car there. Their sales staff, service staff, and customer service have been nothing less than professional, friendly, and courteous. The shuttle service and staff have been wonderful

I purchased my 2014 Brz in March of this year, when I arrived at the dealership I was met by a gentleman named Stacey I believe. Stacey was extremely friendly and easy to talk to, he didnt pressure me and was really easy to work with. This guy was one of the only reasons I stayed and purchased that Brz. When we were talking about price a guy who I think his name was Eric, he was taller and had braces and a beard was doing some running for us from where we were sitting and an office. This guy was so rude to my girlfriend and I over license plates. He told me I didnt know what I was talking about, said he has been doing this for 13 years and has forgotten more than I will ever know. He then said he doesnt have to do business with me when I requested for him to leave the table. I looked to Stacey and requested that Eric not be around nor part of the rest of my purchase. My girlfriend begged me to get up and leave because of how rude this guy was but after visiting multiple dealerships I was ready for my car. I did not receive a customer satisfaction email after my purchase or I would have made a complaint on him. As it is now, Everyone else was extremely friendly and inviting, but if that guy has really been working with that dealership for 13 years and treats customers who are spending tens of thousands of dollars on their products like that, I am shocked. I would not recommend anyone go there. As I have told everyone who has asked me about my experience. I hope Capitol Subaru reaches out to me and makes things right.

We have been planning for retirement and wanted a perfect vehicle that would be safe, last a long time, tow a small camper trailer, have a place for a dog, along with many other details that would fit us and our plans. We had 3 vehicles picked out to test drive one day. The VW TDI Sportswagon, the Honda CRV, and the Subaru Outback, in that order. After driving the first 2 and then the Subaru last. We were convinced then and there the Subaru Outback was the right vehicle for us. Next it was time to look at trim levels, colors, accessories, pricing, etc. and I am not a quick decision maker. Scott VonWeller, our salesman, was a perfect fit for us. He was very patient. He answered ALL of my many questions that came via email, text message, and phone calls. A perfect package at a great price was put together then it was time for the transaction. Not only was Scott patient and very helpful the entire crew was. From Dave, the Finance guy to Stephanni, in Service, to Eric, who brought us water, and others that seemed to be excited for us. We were so well treated it felt like everyone we met at Capitol Subaru truly cared about us not just the transaction. We drove our new Subaru Outback home on Saturday 11/2/13 and I believe it was the prettiest one they had. Ginny Johnston

The salesmen and women of Capital Subaru were extremely helpful. I am a 24 year old, impressionable person and the people who work here were very honest with me about what i do and dont need in a car. I was able to take an extended test drive and be able to tests brakes, acceleration and suspension. I had very few needs for a Subaru and they were able to inform me about a more basic car than something with a lot of bells and whistles that I would not need and just add to expenses to the car. John Mendrin was my salesmen and he was very knowledgeable about the cars that he was selling, and was not pushy with trying to sell me a car or try to use sales fear tactics that I have experienced at other dealerships. He asked me and my father questions about where we were from and what both of us did for a living. He seemed genuinely interested and attentive to us. Frannie in the business department was also very helpful in expressing to me what would be excellent coverage for the type of driving that I do as well as what would be helpful for financing and payments. Overall I have had a great experience at Capitol Subaru.

BE WARNED! Service department does not have your best interest in mind. Purchased my Subaru new from Capitol in 2008. 7 years later they tell me I need a head gasket job (common with a large range of subarus due to bad gaskets originally). Fine. Have the job done including timing belt (for the second time) & water pump. The service manager told me this job is a complete engine overhaul for $2600. Come to find out, they did not replace the cam shaft seals like they should have. Any other shop, including Gresham Subaru, does the camshaft seals during this big job. Well, guess what? Camshaft seals are leaking. They need to go in yet again to remove the timing belt for the 3rd time plus $600 maybe more if my belt needs replaced again. They should have taken care of those seals in the first place & the service manager could care less after our phone call. Weve owned 4 subarus over the years. Never have we replaced a timing belt 3 times. I will be taking my car to Mountain Tech from now on and advise you do the same!!
