Hello: I am intensely frustrated with my experience with Pep Boys. First let me say, it is the establishment to which I took my first car. Because of this, I have a strong draw to PepBoys. Naturally because of this, when I moved to my new townhouse in Crafton I was glad to see there was one about 15 minutes from my home. My wife made an appointment for last Monday, at around 6. When we got there I was made to wait about 10 minutes while the assistant manager, Jesse, dealt with another dissatisfied customer. Once I got there, the service associate who helped me was talking with his mouth full of rice crispy treat and had it around his mouth. He asked me the standard set of questions (make, model etc) after-which I left my keys with them. I thought this was standard and I was expecting quite a bit of work needed for the state inspection as I havent had a chance to get to a garage. Once I got back, they gave me what I needed (new rear brakes, rotors, and tires along with an oil change). They said they wouldnt be able to do it that night because it would "take too long" after asking me if I could leave it over night We made an appointment for tuesday (the next day) which they later said they couldnt do because they didnt have the staff. OK fine. we made it for thursday. I came in thursday when I was greeted with a "we cant do it tonight because we dont have the technicians available" really? after you had a day and a half to tell me this? They said never mind and had me leave my care there to get the work done. I was putting my key in my front door to finally relax after fighting through 4 sets of traffic with my wife who left work EARLY to come and pick me up at pepboys. My phone rings. Wanna guess who it was? YEP! it was pepboys. Who then said "you have to come get your car because we cant do it tonight." I turn around and get my car back and double check with them that Monday was still good for my wifes inspection on HER car, and tuesday was still good for mine. They assured me it was. My wife called me today. They cancelled because guess why? THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY TECHNICIANS AVAILABLE!!!! I dont know if im prepared to shell out the 600 dollars for the work I need done for my car.

Worst customer service ever in my life. The guy Chris yelled and argued with me because I questioned why the price was so high for new front brakes and rotors and I asked isnt there any way they can cut me any break at all? And I specifically said I only wanted the front brakes done and unlike any honest person instead of recommending that I get the rear ones replaced right then as well he said it needed to be done. I said no way for that price and he lied because then later said it just wouldnt pass inspection the way they were. I said I didnt ask for an inspection and just got it inspected less than 3 months ago and it passed so rear brakes NEED ING replaced right then? I dont think so. And when he called to tell me what they wanted to fix and the price was when I first questioned why do much and he said because its gonna be 110 for the labor. So I just said whatever fix it because I Uber drive and could not have worked tonight with unsafe front brakes and only did so because it was 7pm and nowhere else was still open. So then he argues and yells at me even worse when I go back to pay because I said he was dishonest with me and I said I am going to complain to your manager first thing tomorrow about how I was treated and will never ever go there again. My step-dad got the same thing done for over 100 dollars cheaper at Firestone . Then I get home and look at the bill and he actually charged me 159 for the labor so now am also going to demand my 49 dollars back because he also lied about that .unreal. never heard of any auto place that bad in my life.

Called to see if they carried studded tires for my Ford Ranger. They said yes and that they had 2 in Monroville that they could get on Monday. It was Thursday, so it seemed a little odd that it would take that long to get there. I said go ahead and get them and I will be up on Monday to have them installed and put on. Monday rolled around and I thought I would get a call saying they were in but didnt. Called the store around 6:00 and asked if they arrived. Employee said yes they were in. I asked if I come up would they be able to install them tonight because a snow storm was to hit overnight. Employee said there is a wait, but that they would be able to install them for me tonight. Arrived at the store a little bit before 7:00 and waited to speak with someone at the service counter. Employee asked if he could help me. I stated that there were two tires there waiting for me and gave him my name. He said they were there and asked when would I like to have them put on. Told him that I called an hour ago and the other employee said they could get them on tonight. He then stated that there was no way that would happen and pointed to the clipboard rack behind him and said they are all ahead of you. Beings I called and was told they could be put on tonight that is what I was expecting. Instead I wasted my time and gas for nothing. Set up an appointment for the next day, but it should never have gotten to that point. Now I know why I normally dont shop at Pep Boys and that I should check reviews for places before I shop there.

Very unprofessional. I walked in with questions about getting a set of winter wheels and tires for my car. The first two guys wouldnt even speak to me and just pointed my two a third guy (they were all behind the same desk). Mentioned that I saw a rebate online where it was buy 3 proline wheels, get the 4th free. He was completely useless. He had no idea the rebate was going on and I asked how I could go about obtaining the rebate and buying the wheel in store. He said that the prices in store didnt have to match up with the online price and offered no explanation beyond that. The stupid part is, they dont even carry the wheel in stock, so you would pay for them in store and they would still have to get it shipped to the store or you personally (sounds a bit like an online order to me). This means you get no rebate and have to pay more for the wheel in store. He was unable to verify the bolt pattern I needed for my car (5x108) and was also unable to give me an estimate for tire prices between the 17 inch wheel and the 18 inch wheel. All and all a really underwhelming experience which is a shame as I really liked a set of wheels they had. At this point Im either getting wheels from a website or Craigslist. Itll be significantly cheaper and working with the stranger I meet on Craigslist will be x10 better than working with this staff. I strongly recommend purchasing your products elsewhere.
