Where do I begin? March 21st we took our auto to aamco because it wouldnt go no faster than 20 miles an hr. after it was checked out was told we needed a transmission! Well we kind of figured that much! So we asked was anything that they could do to the transmission to save money? they said they could fix it but couldnt give us a warranty for the work. So we okd the rebuilt trans with a 3 year fifty thousand mile warranty. They said they would order the trans and that it would be ready by march 28th. True, it was ready and the price was 2488.20! Now moving forward to May 15th my husband was on his way home from work in Exton so as hes getting on the xway from 202 the car just stops! Engine running but not moving! r u kidding me! Traffic backed up for miles at 5:00 rush hour! because of our vehicle! We had to call AAA and hubby told the guy to take it straight to Aamco! they was still open when he got there, the AAA guy was very nice he even brought my hubby home and my husband gave him a 40.00 dollar tip for his services, what r we a bank here? I asked my husband. we pay for AAA why did you give him that much? he responded he was such a nice guy! Now back to Aamco I asked the Owner whos name is Greg could he help out with a rental so my husband could get to work 35 miles away he said its not in their policy to offer rentals sorry. HUH? ok so as a courtesy could you at least ask the company where you ordered the trans from to cover a rental? He responded Ill see what I can do but I DOUBT if they would! Boy am I heated Now! steam coming out of my head! well what can you do for this inconvenience? uh nothing! very bad customer service! at least offer to pay half of our rental which came to 204.00 for one week! we asked again can you as a courtesy at least pay for half? Nope but we can give you a oil change. They lied again! they did not give us a oil change because they didnt put the sticker in the window to let us know when the next oil change is due! I would never patronize this place again! they are bad business people! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Also Matt The Manager just stood there and grinned in our faces like we where chopped liver!

My car started having problems driving from Philadelphia back home to New Jersey. It was overheating and leaking antifreeze. I had no option but to search for the repair shop with the best reviews in the area. They detemrined that the problem was the radiator and promised theyd replace it as soon as possible. In a week traveled 3 hours from home to this aamco and sat there for hours until finallly the car was given to me, supposedly repaired, at 6 PM. I drove the car back home, and on the way back it began leaking oil and transmission fluid. I took it to the nearest dealer, fearing that there might be damage to the engine, and the next day learned that this stupid aamco had put in a non-Honda radiator that was defective on top of it. The damages costed me over $1500, aside from the $430 it costed for the initial repair at aamco. Now, I respect anyone working hard trying to make a living so I had no intention of causing problems for the shop. I called, trying to sound as kind as possible , explaining that they had out in a defective radiator, and that I had the part and was willing to bring the part back to get a refund for the defective part that they sold me, NOT EVEN FOR THE LABOR. All I heard was that theres really nothing I can do, what am I gonna do with a defective part thats useless to me, and that you should have brought it to an aamco. Overall, I paid $430 just so that my car could break down with more problems less than a day later, and so I could go pay another $1500+ without any reimbursement. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED.

I moved to Philly a little under 2 years ago and needed to find a place that could work on a VW and not charge and arm and a leg like the dealerships do. I tried multiple shops around the Manayunk/Roxbourgh area (Pepboys, dealerships, small shops), but none of them had stellar service and the majority of the people working there couldn’t care less if they actually fixed your car right or if you needed it back by a certain time. Thus lead to trying out Aamco on Ridge Ave. This place is wonderful. The manager, Matt, is nice, trustworthy and willing to spend a little extra time helping you out and the prices are much lower than anywhere else I have visited. They always have my car done by the time I need it and usually can get the service done within a day or 2 of calling to set up an appointment. I have recommended this place to many people already and will continue to do so. They are the only service place I know that will always charge a fair price and really value you as a customer.

The 1 you can trust Ive been coming here for over a year now.mechanics are very hard to trust because a car is very important to daily life.im pretty sure many people have been burned by places like "p.boys, neighborhood shops, and the very expensive dealership$".but here,i have found a home for all my car needs.i 1st started with only my car, then added my wife car, then my mothers car.they have built up my confidence and trust in them over the year.we all have different cars and they fix them all.the prices are very reasonable,if i get it checked out, they put that money towards the work needed.also,if theres a recall to any car, they inform me of it first to take to the dealership to get it fixed for free.finally whatever price im quoted is the price i pay.love these guys, they dont break things, they fix it all.

The check engine light brought me to Aamco after another repair shop told me it was transmission related and advised me to see a transmission specialist. The guys at Aamco Ridge Ave found the problem and I went on my way in a few hours. Two days later the check engine light was on again so of course I went back. They found the problem with their earlier work and two other related problems that had contributed to the check engine issue. They fixed it all, parts and labor, at NO EXTRA CHARGE. I call that GOOD service! (no recurrence of the check engine light)

I do exclusive business with this Aamco. I tell everyone I know in the area to go to this shop. My old man was a mechanic and the only other place I trust with my car are these guys. The staff and the owner are experienced and go out of their way to make sure any car problem I have is handled quickly and at a reasonable cost. Car work gets expensive and they gave me several options about what the best possible solution is to have my car fixed for my budget. I listened and I was more than happy with the results.

AAMCO installed a defective part in my Hond Pilot. After I had my radiator replaced my car began to leak fluid. I took it to another mechanic and they told me the leak was due to a defective radiator. A radiator that I JUST HAD INSTALLED. I went back to the manager, his name was matt, and just asked for a refund on the part. I DIDNT ASK FOR A REFUND ON THE LABOR. he refused the honor the refund and sent me my way. Very bad business. I feel robbed. I will update if things change in the near future.
