I have been putting off writing a review until I visited Ottohaus a few more times. Not to any surprise, all of my visits have been great, professional, and honest. I did a ton of research before using Ottohaus, and I am extremely thankful for the shop, Leo, and his staf. Every time I go in for anything going on with my VW, everyone is kind and helpful but more importantly they are honest with me and give me wonderful repair prices. Once, I had an issue with my car that was so major the dealer needed to perform the repair due to my warranty. Leo took his time investigating my car problem, then printed out every last detail of information I could possibly need in order to assure the repair would be preformed correctly at the dealer. It meant a lot to me he wanted to see the repair was handled properly, and he gave me confidence going to a dealer I felt lukewarm about. I go here for everything, and will always go here before anywhere else. Ottohaus simply cant be beat. PS. any shop that has a GOT inspired billboard is pretty legit anyways.

Best experience with a mechanic! I took my VW golf to Leo a few months ago and he replaced not only my water pump, which the dealership was going to charge me $800 for because theyd also have to replace a belt, but he replaced it with one that has metal fins instead of plastic, so Ill never have to replace it again. Replaced my battery, some lights that were out and reprogrammed my fob which the dealership said theyd have to fix my door to do (which was a lie). He did this ALL for less than the dealerships ONE item. Recently after a little accident he reconnected my headlight and told me how to save a lot of money on a new bumper. He is VERY honest, does great work and actually cares. I highly recommend Ottohaus to anyone with a VW or an Audi. If only he worked on all cars! :-) Thanks Leo!

I am so glad that I was able to find Ottohaus after I came to Charleston! I had some issues with my VW Touareg that I had been putting off taking care of for a long time. Not only was everything done extremely professionally and timely, but for the extensive work I needed the price was more than reasonable. One thing I appreciated the most was the Leo walked through every detail with my and took the time to explain the work, what he thought was nessecary and why, and what could wait. This company makes sure you understand and are comfortable with what work is being done to your car before they even start it. Any follow up questions I had were answered quickly and everyone there is super friendly and helpful! I would reccomend Ottohaus to everyone!

These guys are the best, most professional mechanics you can find in Charleston. German cars are expensive to repair, but there is no doubt that they will do the job right the first time and for a fair price. Turnaround times are very impressive, even when their lot is full. If you dont know much about car repair, you can trust that these guys will not overcharge you or upsell you on repairs you dont need, and they always explain exactly what needs to be fixed and why. Time and time again the mechanics at Ottohaus prove that they have the extra knowledge, skill, and patience that German cars require. I wouldnt want anybody else working on my car. My A4 and I appreciate all the great work!

Pulled up literally on the last inch of power my poor vehicle had. The poor man I interrupted working said he was booked for the next week, but was kind enough to ask what was wrong. Despite being backed up, he offered to fix my car in only one day, and did so for an absolutely fantastic price! The owner, Leo, manned the register when I paid, and he mentioned that they stayed an hour late to get my vehicle fixed in time. I was skeptical on getting so many positive reviews, but after going there myself, I see why. I cannot recommend this place enough, its a shop run by great people that is also easy on the wallet. Definite 5/5!

My Beetle lost boost and I took it to 2 other shops. One wanted me to just start replacing parts to troubleshoot. The other, quoted me $2200 and it wasnt a guarantee it would fix the issue. I took it to Leo and he meticulously tracked down the issue and it turns out it was a simple, albeit tricky to find, issue. Being in school, it was great having someone work with you on a tight budget that could get to the root issue and fix it instead of blindly throwing parts at it until the problem resolves itself. Couldnt thank this guy enough. Theyve got a customer for life!

Best mechanics ever! Ive been going to Ottohaus since they first opened! They are the best German auto mechanics in the area and they are by far the most knowledgeable (trust me, Ive been to every German auto mechanic in the tri-county area). Ottohaus has repaired my VW Jetta multiple times and have always provided me the most cost effective options and high quality customer service! Good German auto mechanics are hard to find and I am so happy to have uncovered this gem located here in West Ashley!

I called him to see about getting a few parts for my VW Passat and he was always very attentive and even helped me walk through my laymans description of the items that I needed.
