WORSE costumer support ever, colluding w/your insurance to save them money!!
This is my facts based review about GEICO.
I’ve been a costumer for over 10yrs. I never had a claim before the hail damage in my Ford F350. After starting the claim I was requested by GEICO take my truck to Caliber Collision where they supposed to take 30min to do and estimate.
After arriving waiting for 30min a was asked to park my truck inside the building and after waiting for another hour standing there next to my truck, with no information at all…. No one told me where the waiting area was, what was the process to follow, who my adjuster was, no communication at all. I tried to get some info out of a employee looking at the hail damage and he said “I’m a third party, I just look at what paint less repairs we can do”, “I’m not with GEICO”…. At some point after 1.5hrs of standing around my truck, a Geico employee says here is your estimate, here is your check, good-bye.
They didn’t included the damage to the bug-shield done by almost golf size hail damage, or other things that were not damage before the storm. I try to say something about it but they were not willing or wanting to listen.
After reading their estimate and realizing they were using parts from the JUNK YARD, I took it to Jackie Collision, a trusted repair shop I dealt with them before. So they gave me a 100% based estimate in the original estimate from Caliber; the big difference is the quality of the parts, paint, new parts not junk yard parts, and the craftsmanship. The estimate was higher by $1,500 obviously a proper repair with quality parts will cost more.
Submitted the estimate for a supplemental check, and Geico will not cut us a check!
Those are the facts, now here is my personal opinion:
• Worse costumer service I’ve ever got. From the people at Caliber Collision to the regional GEICO staff here in Greenville. I’m currently shopping for another company.
• What’s the point of paying for extra coverage if when you need it, the coverage only pays for a low quality repair…… when I pay my insurance premium I do not short them 30%.
• If I add up all the years of extra premium coverage I paid for to GEICO, I could’ve repaired this out of pocket and saved money!!!

Customer service is great and the people are friendly and energetic. Too bad that energy doesnt flow over to getting the job done. I dropped off my car to have my bumper, trunk, and tail light repaired after someone ran over my car in my apartment parking lot. When I met with the repair tech and my adjuster on Aug 21st, the repair tech automatically told me my 2013 Hyundai was probably totaled but they didnt know for sure. This freaked me out to the max and after arguing that he was insane and there was no way my car was totaled, I left the shop that day almost in tears from frustration and the thought of a totaled vehicle resulting from a hit and run. I was never told any different; I just figured it wasnt totaled when they said it would be repaired and ready on Aug 31. On the 31st, I called to check on the repairs and was told it would be ready. Left work early, then get a phone call that it wouldnt be ready til the next day. 1 hour of work missed. The next day, I called to check status and they said it would be ready. I left work early only to get a call on my way to the shop that they were pushing it through a weekend and a holiday and it would be ready on the 5th. 2nd hour of work missed in two days. I called to check on my car on the 5th and it would definitely be ready. I left work an hour early again...3rd consecutive work day. When I told them I would be able to pick it up a few mins before closing, they tried to make me wait until the next day which would have meant I was paying for my rental out of pocket. I refused, so they slammed a light in last minute and did not connect it properly. When I picked it up, the tech told me that everything was good as new and that everything was working. On the way home, I realized my blinker wasnt working and I had to return to the shop the next morning to have the tail light actually connected. I missed 3 total hours of work trying to get my car over the course of 3 days and still missed another 30 mins having to have it repaired the following day. (Bummer for my paycheck.) Also, the paint is weird! Its a slightly different hue from my car and they admittedly had trouble matching my color...which is strange to me because its a stock color from Hyundai. They also missed a spot the size of a dime near the corner of the light where primer shines through. In my opinion, Caliber has too much business from GEICO and State Farm to be able to keep up. If you need quality repairs quickly, go somewhere else.

1.0 star rating 6/2/2016 This body shop is unethical, deceptive & thieves. I was sent there by Geico (they need to rethink that) for repairs to my 2014 Lexus front bumper. I was told it would be 3 days - 3 weeks later I had to call them and they informed me the car had been ready or 5 days. I went to pick it up, paid my $1,000.00 deductable and went to get in the car. The workmanship was not acceptable - the paint color did not match, there was an area on the right side they had missed with paint altogether and an area on the let side that was rough, hadnt been sanded. The employee said "I should have looked at it first" and "well get it fixed right away". The following day I received a call that they took the bumper off and found damage from a previous accident and that was somehow affecting their ability to finalize fixing my car....didnt they take my bumper off 3 weeks ago to make the repairs I refused to accept? Had I not complained they would have given me back my vehicle and never disclosed that I had damage previously that wasnt fixed. Only when their work was in question did they disclose - unethical! I complained to Geico & they coordinated with Lexus Luxury Collision to get things fixed properly, old damage and new. I called Calibur Collision to request my $1000.00 deductable refunded as they never delivered me my vehicle fixed and they are refusing! The manager is stating I am the one refusing to allow them to repair the car - I told him regardless they had no right to keep money for a repair that has not been completed. Dont take your car there and dont pay your deductable until youve inspected your vehicle -

ZERO STARS!! What should have taken a week, turned into almost a month! Dropping it off I should have known how bad they were! I waited 2 hrs to leave and I even had an appointment. After getting my car back the first time, my door panel was popped off, they fixed that 30 minutes later and then we left. Not an hour later we noticed my window was messed up as well as the paint. Back to the shop we go to fix the window and paint.(They couldnt fix the window and had to have another place work on it) We get it back and of course the paint is running and just as bad. So we ended up having it painted four times until it looked decent. I asked them not to even wash it because they would scratch it more. I love my NEW Audi that was hit in a parking lot and I wanted it looking like new. I chose this body shop because its Audi certified. When I went to pick the car up they left it at the dealership, who had to fix the window problem Caliber couldnt fix. They told me to drop off the rental at another location. How would I drive two cars at once?! And her reasoning (one of the managers) is because I didnt want her touching it, then started insulting me for caring to much about my car being fixed correctly, which they were paid to do. It took multiple attempts to "fix" my car until a manager was involved. They had my car for almost a month and kept wanting me to take it home and fix it later. I even had to report them to the insurance company in hopes they would not use them any further. Unprofessional, rude and too busy to do anything right!
