I am from northern CT and was looking to store my belongings at the local Extra Space Storage. I reserved a 10x10 unit because there was a discount noted, online, that one month would be free and a discounted price. With that said, I arrived at the storage facility to start moving things into it and was told that they have not heard of that promotion and would not honor it. I made a copy of the sale info and showed the document but was told they still could not do anything to help me. I was a bit upset because I could have gone to another facility that was more convenient for me but that had no discounts, so was more expensive... but without the discount I found online, now extra space storage was more expensive. I requested that they check with a manager, in which, he said he had heard of the discount but said I would have to apply for it online. I told them there was no way to apply for it online. I even asked if I could show them on their computers in the office. Especially since I had made an extra trip there that early evening, leaving work early, and loosing money!! I was told I could not show them, because I could break their computers, and they would also not try to personally see if it would work online, before I left the premises and wasted an entire trip. They did tell me to look online for a "Reserve Toll-Free" phone number and to call it if I cannot place the reservation and get the discount online. They were not willing to go that extra mile (or inch for that matter) so I left obviously frustrated and tried calling that number the next day. For some unusual reason the number directed me to another Extra Space Storage facility, but way down in Antioch, TN. On the other end of the phone, I was greeted very pleasantly and professionally by a lady named Ms. Aleshia Chapman. Although she was not sure why I was sent to her phone line, it was a blessing in disguise for me. She new about the promotion and made it clear that she was there to assist me, even if she was over a thousand miles away from me! She offered to call the facility in my region and explained to them what they had to do to help me. Even when they seemed to not want to put the little extra effort in to make it work, she pushed them as a fellow colleague, to assist me as best as they could. She then called me back to follow up and to give me a phone number to the corporate headquarters, just in case I needed to try to get help via a different source. She reassured me that someone should help me and that she was just a phone call away if I had any further questions. She even apologized on behalf of the employees I had met and never once tried to come up with some sort of excuse for them or in general, which I strongly appreciated! I wish I could grade her personally because Id give her an A+ or an 11+/10 as an overall score. She was so personable, empathetic, caring, and I felt like I knew her very well... just after 10 minutes of talking on the phone! I wish there were more people like her, especially in the service industry. You can tell she enjoys her job and more importantly, she enjoys helping people... even when it was not necessarily a personal benefit for her to help me and I was not even using her facility nor was I even in the same state :) . Today, I went back to the storage unit in my area and they were extremely helpful this time, including giving me the discount and being very pleasant. I know I could not have done it, especially with such ease, without Ms. Aleshia. She was amazing and even though I do not know her, she helped me believe that people still do care and due to that I will continue using Extra Space Storage! Thanks Aleshia for all of your time, energy and efforts. You really did not have to be so great but I am so grateful :) !!

I just got my storage unit today, but unless something changes they have been nothing but awesome! A few weeks ago I wasnt ready to get my unit and Andrew still showed me around and did not rush me out the door when he knew I wasnt ready just yet. They also made sure to give me a call when I was two weeks out from my "move in" date. Alisha did a really good with keeping in touch with me to get it on reserve. When I finally signed up Angela assisted me and was very nice and patient. We had good laughs and she made sure I knew exactly what I was getting. They were not pushy at all, and all went at a good pace. I did not feel pressured into buying things or upgrades I did not need, which in this day in age is really hard to come by. If you are in need of a storage unit, I HIGHLY recommend this place (also near the interstate which is perfect for moves)!!

I moved from West Virginia to Nashville area and had lined up storage at another facility/company. I accidently pulled into Extra Space Storage thinking it was the correct facility. The associate was friendly/professional and advised me where the other facility was. Then she advised me of what she had to offer, it was inticing enough that I looked at two units and decided Extra Space Storage was better for my needs. It was clean, fairly easy to get my 26 truck into,and covenient. The main reason was the availability of a 10x30 unit. I had a 10x25 at the other facility.......in retrospect, it would not have been large enough, so I would have had to gotten a second unit-this was much more convenient. This experience was a welcome change and I appreciate the associates honesty and concern for me-the customer. Thank You, Tom Osburn.

I have had my storage unit here for almost 4 years now and have found this to company to be great. My unit and unit area have always been kept clean and free from bugs and rodents which is very important to me as the last place I was at told me that was just part of storage.....(NOT IN MY EYES). The prices and always comparable and the specials are awesome when you catch them. The best part of this property is the staff...all are friendly and Tammy is the very best....she has such a kind heart and will do anything to assure that you are satisfied with your unit. She takes pride in keeping the property clean and looking good and if there is ever a problem it is taken care of promptly and efficiently. Overall....As long as I have a storage unit....it will be here.

I came to the area to look for apartments and storage. I am planning to move to the area to be closer to family and am trying to get prepared before I actually move. Once getting to the site, I was greeted by Joyce and Alisha. Joyce took me out on the property to show me a few units and we talked about prices and about the area. She was very friendly, even giving me tips on moving. She also mentioned the coverage options they have, which I was very excited about because the other places I visited did not offer anything like it. I will definitely be storing here, as well as recommending them, when I move because of how friendly and helpful the staff was!
