The one star theyre getting is for the tech that came out and hooked up service. He was excellent. Nothing but nice people, but you wont believe how lame this company is until you see it in person. I went in to sign up for service and there was one person working at the drive-thru taking bill payments and one guy working at the counter handling everything else. And he was new, so everything he did required him to get confirmation from the gal working the drive-thru. When he finally finished getting me into the system, he handed me a receipt for my payment, but they had nothing in place to allow me to walk out with ANYTHING in writing confirming anything I had signed up for and what my account number might be. The service itself has been solid (and the internet is snappy, Im getting 48MB down on the regular) but the variety of channels Im getting for my $91/month is horrible. Its like cable from 20 years ago (ok, actually 10 years ago) and is almost not even worth watching. Then today, I went in to the office to try and get a couple of longer cables. The woman working the counter went back and looked through a bunch of random cardboard boxes with a bunch of random cables thrown in there. Then she went into the back office and came out with audio cables. "These dont look right, they have different ends on them, theyre supposed to look like this, right?". Seriously. So I asked her if maybe one of the drivers had a longer cable on his truck, at which point she went "next door" to find me a cable and came back 20 minutes later with one the tech had made from scratch. And when I asked the drive-thru gal a question about the lineup while I was waiting, she just had to guess. Like I said, nice folks, but this cable is really lame. Wish I hadnt ignored the reviews I read here.

Horribly monopoly company. 1st.. If you want internet in my area...Ritter is the only company you are able to get because they area monopoly. You are unable to get anyone else. 2nd...I am constantly having outages and something wrong with my internet. A technician came out a couple of months ago to "fix" something. then another had to come again TWO days later. That technician discovered that the first tech left some things loose or something. As i type this, my internet speed is as the photo shows. I called tech support and John said that "there was a outage last week and it is being resolved". I have received no notification about this "outage" and will STILL get charged FULL price for my internet being practically useless for the past week. I will be turning my router in on Thursday and i promise you that ritter will never get my business again... You are a crooked monopoly and i dont understand how you legally are allowed to force one option on people. I hope your business crumbles. Good riddance.

We are having the same issues as (burt chateau) had mentioned. We have gone so far as to hire a Network company to come into our home to check out our home network when Ritter Communications tried to tell us it was our home Network. Now $500 later and ALL new equipment we are still getting the run around. Tech showed up today...never came into the house and said that he found a loose connection at the box outside and left. The Internet keeps going in and out to the point you find yourself rebooting the router and modem 5 and 6 times in one hour. I am actually using my data on my cellphone to complete this review now. We are looking for other service and will NEVER recommend this company to anyone!!! I work hard for my money that I pay to have Internet connection and should NOT have to deal with this! VERY Dissatisfied!!!!!

The only good thing Ritter has ever done was to not implement data caps like Comcast. The service is absolute garbage, connection drops at least twice a day, customer support is worse than Asus (Which is saying something), and on top of it all, you dont get the speeds you pay for. Im currently getting 2Mbps down, while we pay for 15Mbps down. God forbid you bring up upload, because every customer service rep I have spoken to, has pretty much said upload doesnt matter. Ritter honestly doesnt know how networking works. A homeless man who had a server rack powered by Pentium Pros could do a faster and more stable job than Ritter.

This is the most ridiculous service that I have ever had. We pay for several business lines and the top internet that they offer. Our internet is absolutely a necessity for operating our business. Our phone lines are absolutely necessary for operating our business! This week alone our internet has been out twice, and two out of four phone lines are down. I would not EVER recommend this company to anyone (Personal nor Business). I would change companies if I had elsewhere to go. When you pay over $700.00 per month, you would think they would help. I could go on and on.. do not have the time. Very dissatisfied customer!!!!

The millington center has lost a payment of mine and said without my receipt they couldnt do anything. They applied one of my payments to a totally different account and then blamed me for it. I moved across town and instead of transferring my old account, they created a brand new one and continued to bill on the old one. Ive had several other problems also. The phone tech support is the best thing about the experience. The quality of the internet and phone service is good, and Ive only had a few brief outages, but dealing with any type of issue is pretty stressful.

Price just increased by 10% without notice. I am over 20% of the price I originally signed up for. I only have 2 tvs and internet service. WHEN will we start getting our moneys worth? Service is somewhat better since Ritter took over but still isnt up to par. I am TIRED of calling and complaining. I am READY to switch but the other choices are not any better. S A D, S A D, situation we are all in! I am all for paying for the channels you watch. Who cares about all the channels you dont watch. If I payed $5 for each channel I watched I would save so much.

Internet slowing down very often, and they give you the run-around when trying to find a solution. Had to schedule 3 appointments, which only one tech did anything helpful at all, but then still told me I just basically had to wait for Ritter to upgrade their equipment. Asked for some type of credit on my account and they gave me $10, wow lol. And theyre the only choice for high speed cable internet in my area. This is in addition to several other problems Ive had over the years, including with the billing department. Ugh

Ritter Communication is the WORSE communication provider in my opinion. Their customer service in providing maintenance of their equipment and providing service to the people they serve is at the WORSE of any telecommunication organization I have ever encountered. Sadly, because they are the only game in town I have to deal with this organization in the town of Millington. My only hope is I will be glad when I can go completely mobile, and never have to deal with this dog and pony show ever again.
