I had a bad experience with this garage and I want to state my opinion. I am glad to be able to finally be able to express my dismay. Several years ago, I took my Toyota Landcruiser to Ewing Bass to have a very expensive engine re-build done. The reason we used this garage is that one of their mechanics (Tim) there supposedly specialized in working on vintage Landcruisers. The repair took quite awhile to complete, but since it is a specialized vehicle we were patient. When we got the truck back home it was pouring oil out of the rear main seal. However the mechanic that worked on it took a extended leave of absence the very night we picked up the vehicle. Since the mechanic was gone already we were forced to have to wait for the mechanic to get back from Texas. When we finally were able to take the truck back and showed the owner the problem he shifted the blame to us saying that we had damaged in the time that the mechanic was gone. (NOTE... it was leaking by the time we got it home which is about 6 miles from our house) That was simply not true. Anyone who knows a bit about Landcruisers will tell when you mount the tranny back to the engine if its not done correctly the seal will not take. Its a common mishap when making this type of repair. None the less the owner basically told us to take a hike he was not going to stand behind the work done in his garage. He hid behind the extenuating circumstances, since they gave him a convenient way out. So we were forced just to eat the repair and take it to another shop and pay for the repair all over again. The new shop made the proper repairs and the truck is still in use to this day. I know to someone reading this it may seem trivial to bring this up years later, all I can say to that is... "if you spend thousands of dollars on a repair and get burned the sting stays with you."

Honest and helpful, yes Ive found a dependable garage. I took a newly purchased used Honda there because I thought there might be a transmission issue. They test drove it and then gave me detailed information of what was going on and even called using their contact to get me to the Honda dealership immediately without an appointment. I offered to pay them for taking the time to determine the problem but they would not let me pay. Now thats honest, caring service. I didnt get the mechanics name but he is some kind of car whisperer and Rachael is fantastic. Great shop!

A neighbor recommended Ewing Bass and I have been pleased. I have an older car which seems to have issues frequently. I have taken it to Ewing Bass on more than one occasion and feel they have done good work at a fair price. Today my taillights would not go off so I called Rachel, who is always very friendly and accommodating, and she told me to bring it over. Within 30 minutes they called and said a switch had broken off which they had fixed and it was ready to go. They did not charge me. How often does that happen?

This is the most trustworthy and helpful shop Ive ever been to. I seem to constantly break down and Ewing Bass is the only place I like to go in Nashville. They almost always get it done either the day you bring it in or the next day. Rachel will always call you and explain whats going on with your vehicle so you dont feel like youre paying for made up problems or being ripped off. Fast, friendly, reliable, honest, family run business. If you need help this is the place to go!

You could not ask for better customer service! ! I have been so impressed with my 2 experiences with this garage. THey are extremely kind and efficient. Rachel at the front desk is very curtious and soooo helpful. You promptly receive call backs and updates about your vehicle. They include you in every process they can. They are respectful and I would highly recommend their services, especially transmission work.

This is a small, family-owned business, and they arent thinking of a thing but to give you the best service you could ask for. They dont overcharge and they are so patient with people like me who dont understand cars. They explained what parts I needed and why, what they do, how much they are. The speed of the service was excellent and the employees are very friendly. Couldnt wish for better.

I have used them for many years and unlike the person on the other review, I have always been satisfied and they have always done a good and timely job at repairing my vehicles, from AC services to clutches. I am getting ready to have our aging mini van tuned up and re-vamped. please do call them, they are great and fast! sorry about what happened to Jerry but that is not the norm!

There is a reason this garage has been there since the 50s. I took my car in today because my AC was blowing hot. They accessed the issue and quickly fixed it for a very fair rate. I will be taking my vehicles here in the future for all of the work I need.
