Worst salon experience of my life and Ive had a pretty bad one before. PLEASE never go here. I now have some of the most disgusting looking hair Ive ever seen. Ive been crying nonstop since Kris began this grueling mess of what was supposed to be a simple root touch up. Day one: I come in with my natural dark blonde roots grown out a few inches. Wanted a root touch up. Sounds simple enough right? Apparently not for Kris. After three hours of foils, I left with a discernible stripe of my natural hair color between freshly colored blonde roots and the rest of my blonde hair. It was literally a dark stripe across my entire head, there was absolutely no hiding it. Obviously she missed about an inch strip on every part of the hair. Called in tears asking for it to be fixed. Day two: Arrive at 3:00. Dont get to leave until after 9 with my hair still messed up, but now covered in cheetah print like blotches of varying colors (orange, white, and the original dark natural color). Now there is a white stripe where the dark stripe once was, and an orange stripe above that. I am now resembling a candy cane. ***KRIS OPENLY ADMITS SHE MESSED UP MY HAIR, joking that she "didnt say her prayers last night".*** Day 3: Kris says toning will help blend the rainbow of colors I am now sporting. This, of course, turns out wrong, like every thing she did. After one final blow dry, I express my displeasure at how it turned out and politely ask for a refund for the original service, which was $180. I said I wanted my money back because she obviously wasnt able to fix the mess she created. She refused to talk to me and just started angrily exclaiming "no, no, no, go home, go home!" and walked away, embarrassing me in front of the entire salon. I called my father because I am very shy and meek and I knew it wasnt right that we werent getting a refund. He tries to ask her for an apology for me and a refund. She, again, doesnt listen, instead she picks up the phone and calls the police. We leave without any yelling, threatening or causing any problems on our side. Folks, I can tell you that this is the first time me or my father have EVER gotten the police called on us. 0/10 Worst experience of my life, definitely 100% regret going. Not sure how she stays in business based on her lack of talent (she literally couldnt do a root touch up) and how she handles a crying, unhappy young client. I now need to find someone fix this ridiculous mess, and in the meantime have to walk around with what is one of the worst dye jobs Ive ever seen. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE consider this a warning and learn from my mistakes. Never go here.

I went into Keith Kristopher Salon last week for the first time for an appointment with Teryn. I was a little nervous, my most recent haircut experience (6 months ago) at another salon having been somewhat traumatic. But Teryn put me completely at ease and we spent the first 10-15 minutes just talking about what I wanted for my hair. Without my going into detail here, she essentially corrected the bad cut I had received from the other salon and I ended up with DEFINITELY the best cut I have ever had. Sure, getting a fabulous haircut was great, but what really made the biggest impression on me was that, at my request, rather than blowing out my hair (which, with my long, wavy hair, I will never take the time to do at home), Teryn showed me some easy, more natural ways to style my hair on a daily basis, which I have been using ever since I left the salon. It is funny to me that after all these years, I find that I actually have the hair I have always wanted-- I just never knew what to do with it to make it look good. The last thing I want to mention about my experience is how great the experience was-- at no point did I feel rushed in the chair to get done before the next appointment arrived-- I think I was there for the better part of two hours, but it was so relaxing and rejuvenating that the time just flew by. (Though I am sure if I had had a time constraint that day, Teryn would have accomodated that, too.) I have found my new salon!

I love this place! There are such great people there! Deanne cuts my hair Carrie does the color and Amber the eyebrows and skin. Autum who works in the front is so awesome too! The moment you walk into this place you are well taken care of! This place is well run and a great environment. They are well trained and a great great group of people. They carry top of the line products and are great at making product recs without being pushy. If you are going anywhere else in Austin you are wasting your time. They make you feel at home. The prices are great! Compared to what I was paying and Jean Philip in Dallas for a person who was over texturizing my hair and the colorist who had been doing it for 28 years so she knew best regardless of what the client wanted.

I have been using Katie Lauer at Keith Kristopher Salon for about one year. She is absolutely fantastic- both as a person and as a hair stylist. She just has the right skills and personality traits to do really well with her clients and customer satisfaction is obviously her priority. She does a great job on my hair and I have always been very pleased with my experience. She even cut my little 13 month olds hair and was very kind and patient with him. So, I would highly recommend the salon, but particularly because of my history with Katie.

I have been going to Cassie for about 2 years now for both color and cut. She is now focusing more on color, but she is excellent at both. Its difficult to find a stylist that has an eye for the current trends yet LISTENS to what direction you want to go. She is on point with her suggestions and I always trust her. Thanks Cassie! I continue to appreciate you... :-) P.S. - You will not be disappointed with the salon either. Its hip, clean and in an accessible location with ample parking. Thumbs up all around.

I have lived in Austin for 4 years and have gone to a number of waxers and even tried threading. Nobody could get my brows back to the right shape and thickness until I went to Amber Harrell at Keith Kristofer. Previous people I had gone to made my brows too thin and messed up my arches. Amber really listened when I told her how I wanted my brows to look and now I can honestly say they look better than they ever have. If highly recommend Amber if you want your brows to look fabulous!

Excellent visit. The new therapist took time to look over my to decide the best approach. Plus, she gave an excellent scalp massage and entertaining discourse throughout. Finally....and this was a great thing - demoed a new product (which I liked) but didnt pressure any purchase as Id said I wasnt looking for any. Because of her method Ill buy it next visit. You have my permission to use this review to benefit your business....just please recognize the therapist for her good work.
