I am giving 4 Stars to Brent at GVTC Internet Tech support. I had several issues with my Internet and suspected that it was an Internet outage that was giving me issues. Brent walked me though the whole process to help identify the problem and we were able to get the Internet working. :) Brent shared with me that his department was dealing with similar issues for our region. He was an awesome guy with Nordstrom quality service. Now as for the company GVTC, thats another story. GVTC charges high prices for average internet speeds and it will take you about three weeks to get your Internet installed as a new customer. The company really needs to respond better to the feedback that customers give regarding their prices and service. Sometimes working with GVTC is like working with a monopoly. Because it is the only major internet source in my area, it bulldozes over new customers and existing customers. With that being said. I give the company 2 stars for product and set-up service. Dont get me wrong. The people who work for GVTC are amazing people and the company wants to give back to those in need, but they need to offer more than mediocre.

Ive been with GVTC for 20 years and they are the best. I tried Direct TV and it just wasnt for me. Yes, Ive had a few issues at an inconvenient time, but who hasnt and 99% of the time it is fixed very quickly. I have a neighbor who has Time Warner and she isnt getting any channels right now and they cant seem to tell her when they are coming! GVTC has the BEST customer service! And the repair department answers the phone promptly. Every employee is polite, professional and friendly. Friendly because they are our neighbors and they care. They work in our community and they live in our community. They have brought fiber optic to the hill country and thats something San Antonio doesnt have or Time Warner. GVTC is a Co-Op and last year I got a check for over $264.00! They have stayed ahead of the times. You cant go wrong with them.

I have been waiting since 8 am for the tech to show and it is now 1030, when they tell you (not ask) to block out four hours of your time so a tech can show up check (supposedly) your wi-fi, that is a bit much for a business owner. As we live in Bulverde, GVTC is the only option for internet. We cut the cable with this company as the price was exorbitant. We upgraded to a two year internet and phone (yes you are forced to purchase a phone plan to get better internet) and the first month the speed was fast, but now it hovers between 1.0 - 13.5 Mbps download (yes 1.0 Mbps download) and non-existent Mbps upload - 19.5. In this modern age I find it off-putting that monopolies exist and that a supposed state of the art company has technology that is so antiquated, but hey welcome to the Giga region.

If I could give negative stars, I would. All our problems started over the course of two months. Our internet would randomly drop about same time every night or every other night and so would our phone--which is good if you need to make an emergency call. Thankfully radio waves from a distant cell tower work better than GVTCs Gag-A Region Fiber. I spent weeks going back and forth with support with them blaming my brand new high-end router. I told them it was their issue since my phone also stopped working without dial tone. Fed up, I called billing to get a discount for all the outages. Shortly thereafter, GVTC techs had replaced a piece of equipment on their local loop that has made the problem go away!

Ive lived in Boerne for almost 12 years, and had more problems with GVTC than I could possibly list. The last two times Ive had problems (usually a monthly occurence), it was the fault of the GVTC technicians working on lines next to me and not checking their collateral damage. They accidentally cut my line completely 2 months ago. When this happens, again almost once a month, I am guaranteed to have to wait at least 24 hours before even hearing back from them or having a tech come out to fix their problem, In summary, just another uncaring monopoly with sloppy technicians and absolutely horrible customer service - all at premium prices (probably the most expensive ISP in America).

The WORST cable company operating in the United States. Saturday wifi was down all day, did not fix until Sunday afternoon. Even after they "fixed it" the wifi continued to go on and off making it nearly impossible to do anything on the internet. Monday wifi worked great didnt have one issue. Tuesday the wifi is down AGAIN they fixed it at 6:30pm the same down but now it is 10:00 and it is DOWN... Seriously there needs to be another cable company to come out to the hill country, they can easily put GVTC out of business within 3 months... They are not hard to beat. GVTC I really hope you either get it together or go out of business because this is just pitiful.

WE HAVE HAD PRACTICALLY NEGATIVE RECEPTION ON TV FOR 3 WKS NOW..TWO SERVICE MEN HAVE COME OUT,AND I HAVE TALKED TO NUMEROUS PHONE TECHS AND THE TROUBLE CONTINUES.ALL OF THE PEOPLE THAT WE HAVE TALKED WITH HAVE BEEN ABSOLUTELY GREAT.THEY SEEM TO BE OUTSTANDING AND UNDERSTANDING PEOPLE AND THAT IS GREAT.BUT MY T V RECEPTION IS TERRIBLE.NOW I FIND MYSELF ON THE EVE OF THE NFL DRAFT WITH NO RECEPTION ON BOTH OF MY TVS.ALSO SPURS PLAY OFF,.I STILL GET MY BILL AND I PAY IT,BUT NO TV.I DO HAVE ANOTHER APPT FOR NEXT TUES AND WAS TOLD THAT I MAY BE ABLE TO HAVE SOMEONE COME SOONER.HAROLD DAY

I could not have a good thing to say about this company and its service even if they introduced me to the love of my life. I am not only plagued by them with my home service but I also have to endure a plethora of dropped calls at my work. I would not wish the hell that is GVTC on Kanye West and I hate Kanye more than I hate Ebola. I believe that GVTC is neck and neck with Comcast as the worst company on earth. If you work for this company you should be ashamed that you have brought such dishonor to your family name.

This is the worst service I have ever had. Internet and tv stop working on a regular basis. No one can ever be reached to find out whats going on so you just have to sit and wait until it comes back up. An hour, two hours maybe all night. When you get your bill its never pro rated for the service you didnt receive. today it stopped for about two hours when it came back on its running so slow I cant even use it. On monday as soon as they open Im cancelling it, at this point Im literally paying for nothing.

To me, GVTC was an amazing isp however, After i have gotten issues with my internet and not being able to play some of my favorite online games (Connection drops) for about 2 years now. After confronting them about the problem for like the fifth or even more they turned me down and told me i had port forwarding issues even though im sure that isnt it. So far the GVTC experience is not worth, but might be worth it for some. The support for internet troubleshooting is Terrible.
