Terrible customer service, 3 experiences in 3 years of service, internet is never reliable or close to the speed promised, When AT&T provides service in this Marketplace gvtc will be out of business in 6 months My last experience.... We upgrade service and are told it will be flip of switch, after service is worse than nornal bad service, we call in and are told we need to swap out modem (not provided this info originally) Is there any training for cust service? I went to switch out modem at office, waited 10 minutes for rep who comes out and says the front desk is suppose to do this, front desk personnel states they have never provided this service, nor do they know how to do it. After another five minutes, I leave the office and realize I have been provided a refurbished unit. I go back to the office and now Im told, All new modems are refurbished! what a joke of a company Also, as i am leaving after 2nd return (when trying to return the refurbished modem), i turn around and see the female manager smiling to her employees... that says it all, it must be GVTC culture

GVTC ended up charging me $80 extra on my bill for a jack that not only did they not put in, but I didnt even order. They were quick to double talk, give an empty apology, and "supposedly" fix the problem with the extra charge.... a week later my service was cut off for non payment of the extra $80 that was supposedly taken care of.... the did reconnect the service after me holding on the phone and them resetting the system which took a total of an hour! A week later than that I get a yellow slip in the mail stating that I am past due on my bill..... I called and they said ignore it, but a week later than that I get another bill for $80 more than it should be...... You would think with what they charge they would have their act together. This whole process has been going on for about three months now.... Im glad to say I will not have to be stuck with them anymore!! I hope you have a choice in your area and you choose something other than GVTC.... Terrible customer service!

GVTC is the absolute spottiest internet I have ever had. I have had 4 other ISPs in my life and their flaws pale in comparison to GVTCs. GVTC is an ISP monopoly in the Gonzales county area who charges horrendous fees for their horrendous service. $90 a month for 10mb down/1 up. WHAT?!?!? I used to pay $90 a month for 100mbps down/10 up. Even though I realize I am now in a rural area, I dont believe internet 1/10 of the speed of my old internet should be the same monthly price. In spite of these outrageous prices, the internet is still complete trash! There are weeks at a time where the internet will completely cut off every 10 minutes for about a minute, come back on, then cut off in another 10 minutes. You will also have constant packet loss through GVTC, so do not expect to game fluidly. Overall, if you are not forced to get GVTC based on your location, dont.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALWAYS POLITE TO ME...THE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE ON THAT END IS EXCELLENT...HOWEVER, LIKE MOST EVERYONE, MY COMPLAINTS ARE WITH INTERNET SERVICES, THEY ARE SUB PAR COMPARED TO MARKET COMPETITION, BUT THATS JUST IT WITH GVTC-THERE IS NO MARKET COMPETITION. AND IF YOU GET MAIL FROM ADVERTISERS LIKE I DO, (AT&T) - WHO ADVERTISE IN OUR AREA, BUT DO NOT SERVICE OUR AREA...WELL THAT JUST IRRITATES ME EVEN MORE.... WHEN THERE IS NOT MARKET COMPETITION, THE $ FIXING IS IN...WHATCHA GONNA DO?? I NEVER GET THE SPEED I AM PAYING FOR EITHER, OFTEN ABOUT 50% - WISHED THERE WERE MORE OPTIONS. WISHED THEY WERE CONSISTENT WITH PEER PROVIDERS, AS FAR AS PRICING GOES...ITS SUPPOSED TO BE "CUSTOMER OWNED" - I THINK GVTC SHOULD LISTEN TO WHAT THEIR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING, AND WORK TOWARDS MEETING THE POPULOUS NEEDS.

Over 10 years as a customer and the only consistent message I get from GVTC is that they hate their customers. Have never worked with a company that is so bad at customer service. And the prices are ridiculous. This provider suuuuuuuuucks. If you have another option, you should use it. If you do not have another option, put on some music from 1990 and enjoy the service that matches! I have tried to engage this company 5 times over the last couple of years, have told them directly that I dont feel valued as a customer, have requested that my concerns be elevated, and have never heard from an executive with the company. I realise they will write a nice response to this rating, but dont be fooled. They did not step up when I sat in their office and explained my issues.... on 3 occasions.

So glad i switched. Internet was so poor and it prevented me from working at home for my job in IT. It really sucks when you have to drive 60 minutes into work because you cannot get an internet signal. What was the most frustrating was that no one seemed to care at all. They continued to bill me for months after I tried to switched and would not let me switch my phone for almost 90 days as they keep doing "maintenance " when my line was scheduled to port over. The customer service was just awful during this process. I pay 60% less with TWC then I did with GVTC and the speed is much better. I have a bundle package and have had it for over a year and could not be happier. I will never use GVTC again.

Our Internet service is terrible and still using DSL after 13 years. Fiber has been available to new developments on south side of Canyon Lake but there is no roll-out timeline offered by company for the north side. I am baffled as we have a new grocery store and high school yet residents in area still use 20 year old technology to connect. When I have called in the past they tell me that we will know when fiber is available when I see a flyer on my door. Hmm, but no actual date planned just that it will happen when it happens. So, GVTC when do we get fiber on North Side of Canyon Lake? I am tired of paying for a land line just to keep a poor DSL Internet connection that isnt worth it.

So, my house is at the end of the street, right outside their service range for "good" internet. Literally just up the road, people are getting 8mbps and probably more, while Im stuck with 1.5mbs, which barely works, constantly having connection issues. Its like a river; the start of the water is large, but as it goes down, it slowly gets smaller, down to a trickle. I have that trickle, though half the time there is nothing at all. And to upgrade to "better" connection, is way too costly. Recently, the internet has been awful. Google can hardly connect. They seem to have no concern for customers as well, because who else will people get internet from? No one!

Internet is down again....That should come as no shock to anybody in the GVTC internet area. This time it went out over the week so I put in a trouble ticket on Monday. They didnt say when they would send a tech, but apparently one showed up during the day while I was at work. Also, they called, but didnt leave a voicemail, while I was at work presumably to say the tech came out and it was fixed. Well its not fixed. I called support to check the status and found out about the site visit and phone call. Now they cant get out until Friday. This sucks! Next time let the customer know you are coming out so they cant be there to make sure its working.
