I am not naïve enough to say that this is how your experience will be if you use them for your move, but this is what happened to me, and I think it says a lot about ATB as a company.I called and spoke to Suzette who gave me a quote and scheduled my move with no issues. The morning of the move Trey and Freddie showed up, and they were nice enough guys. Everything was going good until I came back in the house and Trey pointed out to me that a chair was broken. I had been moving some items into my own car so I wasnt inside when the chair was broken. I dont think Trey broke it because Freddie had been working in that area so my assumption is that he broke the chair, but again I didnt see it with my own eyes so I cant say for sure. I asked Freddie what happened and he denied breaking the chair so I immediately called Suzette. A few minutes later I came out to my car again and noticed that Trey was messing with the chair on the truck. He had tried to glue the chair back together and clamped it with some tools he had on the truck. Keep in mind that this is a pretty hard to find chair from a handmade dining room set that he is gluing together. Suzette called me back and said that without having purchased the additional insurance there was nothing she could do. I told her this was really unfortunate and that I was going to write them a very honest review if they didnt resolve the issue. Suzette called back to say that she had spoken to the owner and he authorized her to reimburse me up to $500 for the repair or replacement of the chair. I couldnt find a replacement for the chair online without buying and entire set ($1,800) so I got an estimate for repair and left it with the repair company (Elite Furniture Repair). The cost to repair the chair was $189 which is well under what I knew she was authorized to pay me so I didnt think we would have an issue. I called Suzette to let her know that I had left the chair and that I had an estimate that I was ready to send her. She then informed me that they had spoken to Trey and gotten new information and that they would not be paying for the repair. I was pretty frustrated at this point so I told her I was going to write the review and be done with the situation. She said "give me 48 hours and Ill talk to the owner one last time and see what we can do". 72 hours later I hadnt heard back so I called Suzette to see what was going on. She said verbatim "I didnt know if you were just going to go away because sometimes customers just let it go". She once again informed me that they would not pay for the repair of the chair so I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will attach the response from Around The Block Moving on sites that provide the option. The gist of it is that they called me a liar, attacked my personal character, and said that I had threatened to defame their company, and that they would sue if i wrote a review. Somehow telling Suzette I was going to write an honest review just became defamation. The bottom line is first, know that you have an option to purchase additional insurance. Second, know that if something happens and you dont have the insurance they are not going to do the right thing. I offered them a chance to make it right for far less than what they said they were willing to pay and they still didnt do the right thing. I just want you guys to be informed. Ill be moving forward with my complaint with Better Business Bureau for whatever its worth, but Im sure that it wont make a difference. If ATB decides at some point to do the right thing and make this situation right I will update my review and let you guys know what happened.

Cannot say enough good things about my experience with ATB Moving! I had to make plans just a day before I needed to move, and fortunately they were able to fit me in. Chris and Shawn were my movers. On time, efficient, and friendly! I never felt like I needed to worry about my stuff; they took care when transporting and loading my belongings. When I said an item might have an issue being handled a certain way, they listened! I was certain my couch was going to be a huge issue for the move, both going out and going in, but these fellas had the patience to figure out a way to get the couch through unharmed, rather than try to brute-force it. All my fragile items and electronics made it through without a problem as well. No cracks, no dings, and everything is in working order. I was getting over a really bad bout of illness, and was incredibly worried about the move, especially since I didnt even have the strength to carry hardly anything around. Chris and Shawn saved my day. Saved my move! They were so quick - done in no time at all - and that was a godsend, given my condition at the time. The total time from when they called saying they were on their way to when they had everything unloaded into the new apartment was just under two hours - amazing! Later, I got a courtesy call from Suzette at the office; they wanted to make sure my move was satisfactory and that I was pleased with the service they provided. Pretty cool that they had a follow up call! Obviously, I had nothing but praises to sing to her about my experience. :) The price was very, very fair for the quality of service I received. Plenty of other places will charge far more, and wont even come close to touching the quality I saw with ATB. You get your moneys worth with these guys. Would I recommend ATB Moving? Absolutely. In fact, every time a friend or co-worker has asked me about how my move went, Ive immediately started talking about how easy ATB made the whole thing. The next time I move, I know exactly who Im calling first!

As the sales Manager of Around the Block, I feel compelled to defend both Around the Block Moving Company as well as myself against this Mr. Wakefield and Janet L.. While he attempts to slander and defame both myself and ATB Moving he was not moved by this company. The real truth is his move was canceled due to verbal abuse and profanity. We reserve the right, as any business, to refuse service to someone who does use proper respect. Mr. Wakefield called for same day service, we did our best to accomodate him. We kept him abreast as to the estimated arrival time as well as explaining that there would be a time window for arrival and that he would be one of the last moves of the day. He accused me of calling him ten times and stalking him which is completely false. Alleging our reviews are fake is ridiculous and leads me to think that he has other issues. As for Janet, she was scheduled for a late afternoon on Friday, we called her to tell her wed be an hour late. She said this conflicted with dinner plans, so I offered her a first move for the following day, a Saturday. This was during one of the rainiest weekends in Dallas history. That Saturday it rained torrentially. We will not move our customers in the rain. All our moves were suspended for an hour. She is the only customer that had a problem wit this.We did keep her abreast of this, and when we were to come to her to move, we were going to be 45 minutes late and this was not acceptable to her. The only negative reviews of our company are those who were never serviced. Not sure why people chose to spend their time complaing about services that were never rendered. We choose to have our customers treat us as they would like to be treated. We openly choose not to deal with unfair attitudes, verbal abuse nor profanity.
