Not a good experience. Service techs came out multiple times to repair our furnace between December 25 and January 13. The first day they charged us over $100 to tell us it was a gas pressure problem and suggested we call the gas company. The gas company service tech came out and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the gas pressure. We called Dallas Plumbing again and told them what the gas company had said about the pressure (no problem). The technician came out to investigate further, saying then that it must be the gas valve. Tech adjusted the gas valve and then left with more of our money. Furnace worked for a day after this visit. We called Dallas Plumbing again and the service technician said the valve actually needed replacing now (note: this is only 1 day later...why didnt he just replace it the day before?) Fine. More money left our pockets. Replacing the valve and spending over $300 on the recent service visit led the furnace to work for a week longer. Called Dallas Plumbing again to let them know the furnace is still not working. By this time we were frustrated and very cold. They send out a plumber who tells us there is nothing wrong with the furnace, but we have a gas pressure issue and the gas line will have to be investigated and possibly redone. My husband decided to do this himself (this only cost him a day and $60). Im sure Dallas Plumbing would have loved to charge us for redoing our gas line. Unfortunately, this did not fix the problem. The furnace again stopped working. We called Dallas Plumbing yet again. They send out another service technician. He proceeds to clean out the evaporator in the unit, saying this is causing the unit to overheat and shut down. He says, "that should fix it". Literally hours later, the furnace stops working again. By this time, we had already spent $400. So, the technician comes out again. He proceeds to investigate more parts of the furnace (finally!). He cleans out the blower motor and the coil. He then decides the furnace is short cycling because the ductwork going from the unit to the intake vent is too small and is preventing enough airflow. Mind you, he spends 2 1/2 hours doing all of the above. He says that we need a new air duct and he can come back the next day to install. $500 more and supposedly all the problems are fixed. So all in all, we paid $900.00 total for the sevice techs from Dallas Plumbing to come out and fix our furnace. They came out 6 times total, re-diagnosing every single time. I am not happy with them and will never recommend them or use them again. I really hope they finally fixed the problem so I do not have to spend more money and call a different company out.

The first hint not to use this company is the fact they are so reluctant to give you any sort of price range. I understand that you cannot give me an exact price, but I did describe the issue so I would think a price range is fair. I mean is it going to be a couple hundred or a couple thousand?? People do not just have a couple thousand laying around, so I would need to plan if it is going to be that high. Regardless of that, I still asked them to come by (shame on me). They got to my house and looked at where the problem is. They told me that the issue was my sprinkler system and they gave me 2 choices of how it can be fixed. 1. They could cap off the system to stop the leak but I would not be able to use my sprinkler; or 2. They could dig up both sides of my sidewalk and replace the piping which would take much longer. I do not use my sprinkler system and I wanted this to be completed soon, so I chose option 1. They said if I wanted to replace the pipe at a later time I could. They spent a couple hours doing the work, only to tell me that that didnt fix the issue and the pipe is still leaking. They could come back tomorrow and fix the actually issue but I would still have to pay for what they did today. So basically out of the 2 choices they gave me, the second choice is what would have actually fixed the problem and the first choice did nothing. I find it ridiculous that they would tell me what the issue is, give me options and then tell me that they really just spent time fixing nothing but it will cost me $250. A decent company would have apologized and then offered to fix the real problem not charging me for the nonsense that was done today. I will not be using this company in the future not will I be recommending it to any homeowners I know. The companies response to my review is appreciated but misguided. There was no miscommunication. Bottom line, they gave me 2 choices on how to fix my leak; I chose the one that was supposed to be the quickest. The company did the work, charged me but the leak was not fix. I was never told they didnt know where the leak was coming from; in fact I was told they knew where the leak was coming from and then given 2 options on how to fix it. I also did not stop them from completing their work. The work I chose to be done was completed and since the issue was not fixed I did not want them to start an entirely new job for what should have been fixed in the first place. The response by the company seems to be intended to save face in front of possible customers as opposed to resolving a current, and possible future, customers issues.

There was some delay upfront getting the quote for my new tankless water heater installation approved due to city codes. Once that was settled, however, the rest of the process was as smooth as could be hoped. Ron and Chris and the rest of the team were very professional and courteous and advised me of their progress throughout the process. They did their best to be as quiet as possible outside of the necessary drilling. They turned the water heater on after the first day so we could still have access to hot water while they completed their work. Initially, I thought I was going to need to hire an electrician to install a new power outlet for the water heater, but Chris found a solution and was able to drill through the wall of the closet and access an outlet on the other side, which saved me time and money! When one of the crew who dug the trench for the new gas line uprooted a shrub in my backyard, Chris made a temporary mound of soil for it and watered the roots to make sure it would be survive until they could replant it. He couldn’t have known at the time, but those shrubs are my most important yard plants because they remind me of my hometown, so I am very fond of them. Finally, on the day of the city inspection, I overheard the inspector say that their work “looked really good” and gave them the green light to complete the project within a couple hours. That is the highest praise I have heard from a Richardson city inspector on a home renovation project, so I am very confident it was done well. They cleaned up the same day – for a total of 3 days for a new gas line and tankless water heater installation – all well-done and excellent service! Dallas Plumbing will be my go-to for all of my future plumbing and gas renovation projects.
