I had not had my hair cut or styled by a professional in three years when I picked Salon NV out to get a handle on my very long, very curly, very thick hair. Amanda was my stylist, and she was very polite. I was treated very well, and was initially happy with my cut - although I could tell it was shorter than I had wanted it. I declined to have my hair dried, since blow drying my hair turns it into a frizzy mess, so I didnt know quite how short the do was until a couple hours later; it really does take that long to dry. Its about two or three inches shorter than I wanted it to be. I made sure to let Amanda know that it would shrink up quite a bit, and told her where I wanted it when it was dry. I thought she would know about how long to cut it when it was wet to achieve this look; after all, she cuts hair every day, and I hadnt been to a salon but a dozen times in my lifetime. But my hair will grow out again, and I wasnt too concerned with the length. What did concern me was that my hair was shampooed before I had a chance to mention that Im sulfate free. It was cut wet, and was cut far too short, and now that its been stripped of the natural oils I spent quite some time carefully cultivating, theres no denying that I look like a lampshade. Im sure that Amanda works very well with straight hair. But curly girls beware - she simply doesnt have the experience with my type of hair. Should I have spoken up and said something before my hair had been washed? Yes. Ive learned better for next time. I was nervous and I deferred to the professional. But when it comes to my hair, no one knows better than I do. Next time Ill be going somewhere else.

After reading Amandas review of Amanda, I wanted to clarify something...Amanda has been cutting my hair for over 5 years. My wife and I followed her from Outback Hair because we couldnt imagine anyone else cutting our hair! Now, for the customer Amanda, my hair is THICK and CURLY and LONG. I have had it cut, colored, highlights, lowlights, thinned, layered, and just about everything in between by the sylist Amanda. I have NEVER...and I mean NEVER EVER had 1 issue with the way she has done my hair! I have NEVER been disappointed, never wished shed not cut off so much, etc. She does a AMAZING job with thick and curly and long hair! She is friendly, sweet, and very personable. She never forgets to ask about me and how Im doing, and how my wife is doing. She is caring, and fun. My wife goes to her as well, and she does a great job with her as well. Her hair always looks amazing, and shes always happy with it! We always leave there very happy with our cut and/or color. So, with that said, whomever is reading this, and whomever has read Amandas review, please know that Amandas opinion is only 1. And as I said, I doubt that Amandas hair even comes close to being as thick and curly as mine! Sorry, but its true! :) As for the stylist Amanda...Love you girl! Dont let her review upset you because we think youre awesome! :)

Overpriced. Let me explain. I came in with an awkward ombre/bayliage thing going on. Goal during the visit was to soften the line where dark met blonde and get rid of the brassiness. Both goals were achieved. The problem came down to the price. As a college student, I dont have a whole lotta money, so when I realized the session had gone from a quoted $150 for a bayliage to just a partial highlight (of just color not bleach/lightener) and toning the rest of my head, I was not expecting it to be $160. After talking to my sisters they both agreed I spent way to much for what was done and might as well have done it myself or gone to the Mod Labb. Again I AM satisfied with the result. Its ok, but I feel really guilty having spent that much in relation to what was done. Very knowledgeable sweet lady. But dont be like me, and DONT just assume you know how the price with be affected during the consultation.

I have never written an online review before, and probably never will again, but after my experience here I felt as if I should let others know what will await them at this highly rated salon. I received the worst full highlights Ive ever gotten here. Chunky, not blended whatsoever, literally just thick strips of blonde that I couldve given myself at home instead of paying $100 for. I was surprised at how elementary they looked. I now have to pay another stylist to correct what has been done. My stylist here however was very kind and I wish her all the best. I just suggest being wary of this place.

After having received horrible service from another salon, I choked back tears and randomly selected this salon to go to. Letha is a life saver. She fixed my horrible hair cut and I couldnt feel better. I just recently saw her again and she turned my bleach blonde into an incredible red. Letha is what the cosmetology business is all about. She treats you as a friend and is amazing. The salon is gorgeous and comfortable, and the washing tubs dont kill your neck like most do. Everyone there is fun and always happy to be there. I will never go anywhere else. I love this salon.

I got my pixie cut done here last Wednesday. The price ($50) was about what I was expecting... I knew it would be between 45 & 60) She did an amazing job! My hair was medium length & I hadnt ever cut it so short before. She looked at the pictures I had as ideas (long on top, very short on the sides & back) & made my hair look perfectly like I imagined :) I would definitely recommend going here.

Amanda has been doing my hair for almost ten years now. I have ALWAYS gotten compliments on my hair! I have had it long and I have had a short bob and have never been disappointed once. She does great color as I have gone back and forth between blonde and brunette! She is great at what she does and is very open to what you want. I highly recommend her and have sent many close friends there!

Judith does waxing only. She does an impeccable job, is very professional, sweet, knowledgeable, and uses techniques that are supposed to be less painful and reduce rashes & bumps. If you need brazilian waxing done, I would absolutely recommend her services. Also, if you get on her plan by getting your waxing done every 4-5 weeks, it is significantly less expensive!

Love this Salon. I have been twice now and Ashlee does a Great job at color, cut and bow out! She listens to what you want and articulates it very well. I recommend her 100%! The entire salon is great. Friendly, professional and clean. You feel welcome from the time you step in the door.

Ive been a client of Jennifer Schindler at SalonNV for many years. The few times Ive ventured forth and tried other salons, I would then end up coming back to Jennifer to get "fixed". Great style, great service, great feeling when you leave there looking your best!
