TOXIC COMBINATION OF DISHONESTY AND INCOMPETENCE The interesting thing about our experience with the Meineke at 4980 Western Center Boulevard is that not only did they not fix the original problem (new brake pads - pretty simple) but they actually created new problems. My wife took in our car (60k miles) with brakes that were getting a little spongy and got back a wreck that actually clunked when you applied the brakes - and the brakes still felt weak. They tried hard to sell her new struts (a $1000 repair) at the time of the brake job which made me a little suspicious and when we took our car back for them to fix the clunking, they insisted it was the struts. We pointed out that there was no problem before we brought the car in, no clunking noise, but they still wanted it to be the struts. A second mechanic shop that employs professional and well-trained mechanics has since confirmed our suspicions. The brake job had been done incorrectly. The rotors had been machined wrong and they had actually used a spray-on adhesive on the pads. The Meineke at 4980 Western Center Boulevard was too incompetent to fix their mistake and too dishonest to perform a simple brake job without inventing new problems to run up the price. So - Beware and stay well away from the dishonesty and incompetence of the Meineke at 4980 Western Center Boulevard. They will try to steal the shirt off your back.

I dont know why other people gave low reviews. Ive had my state inspection done here before, and I got my Jeep repaired here today. Both times Ive had a good experience. My repair today took awhile, and I decided to wait while it was repaired. During that time I saw many customer interactions. They seemed to explain things well for those who dont know about cars, and I saw many examples of them letting people know what was needed and what was optional or would be need to be taken care of soon. Unlike other places Ive been that say "this and that" are "needed" to be done, this placed didnt seem to play those games. If I need work done again, I will go back here. And there are coupons you can print off ahead of time if you go to there website (which I lucked out on finding since I was just looking for their opening time).

My check engine light came on and I was about to leave town on a 300 mile trip so I took my car to Meineke and I was told that my #8 spark plug and coil needed to be replaced. I was charged $60 for them to replace the #8 plug and coil. The car sputtered the entire trip there and back. When I got back in town I took my car to my regular mechanic and I was told that only the coil was replaced and it was the #7 coil, not #8. My mechanic gave me all my old plugs and it was obvious that no plugs were replaced which explains why my car acted up the entire trip. I called Meineke back and asked Ceasar for the owners phone number but I was told that he could not give it out so I had no other option but to post this review. I would be very cautious in taking my car to this Meineke.

1 Star is too much for this place! Would have given them negative stars if possible. Never take your car to them. They are a bunch of liars and dishonest people. I took it for a regular oil change and had a long wait. I am not complaining about the long wait as it was a weekend. But, during the 2 hours that I was seated in the waiting area, the man running the shop would have called at least 4 customers and would start the conversation in a stereotypical fashion - "Sir, I have some bad news on the (accord)". For me, they were trying to sell a oversized drain plug for $15. And when I hesitated, they instantly gave a "Big" discount and gave it to me for $7. Beware. They scare naive customers. Never to be trusted.

Went in for a brake repair because my abs light came on. Had them "fix" the problem for $900. Less than a mile from their shop my abs light came on again. I brought it back and informed them of what had happened. They told me it was still safe to drive. 2 days later my breaks went out right before i was about to enter an on ramp to the freeway (scared the crap out of me) I brought it back today and they still want more $ to fix the problem. This is the last time i ever go here. Caesar seems pretty nice (probably why he handles most of the customers) its the mechanics that dont really care. This is a $1000. + Lesson to be learned.

I brought my Volvo in today for an evap system issue. I had initially agreed to pay a $90+ fee for this diagnostic before hand. The test could not successfully be completed due to a software issue on volvos end. Not only did the meineke gents identify, explain, and document the software issue for me, they also waved the diagnostic fee since it was unable to produce results due to the software issue. Although I was disappointed at vovlos software negligence, I was extremely pleased with meinekes superb customer service. I will be returning for my next oil change and state inspection.

I have been going there for years. I trust them with my wifes car as well as my two daughters. Cesar is a very trustworthy and polite young man who has helped us countless times over the years. I say the same about Nick, he is one of the mechanics. They go out of their way to help and are always there for us. They have been nothing but honest with me over the years. I cant say enough great things about them and this location. I will continue to tell my extended family and my friends to go there with their cars. Thank you Meineke on Western Center!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i set appt to get brakes done on a busy Saturday, hoping it was just the brakes pads that i needed to replace. Well, it turns out that I had to get new rotor, caliper, and brake pads :( which was out of my price range! $700 was just to much for me. The manager Cesar did everything he could to give me the price that I can afford and Im very grateful for him to understand my budget. People there are very nice with great service! Thanks you crews for yall hard work and dedication. :D recommend coming here!

Not sure why Im seeing bad Reviews, This location was EXTREMELY helpful to my girlfriend since she was the one getting the brakes changed for me on my truck. They did not Nickel and Dime her, or send her on a wild goose chase, they simply performed the duty as asked with notifications of anything that went wrong. Richard was a very professional and straightforward mechanic. I will continue to use this location for mechanical needs.

Spoke with Cesar on the phone today regarding brake pad replacement. Even though it was a little more than I wanted, it was done correctly and professionally, and I got service. Unlike the Just Brakes off of Beach St where I made two appointments and then they refused to see me as a customer because they were "over worked". Will probably bring my car in other service in the future.
