I had a package delivered, tossed over my 8ft gate, and my dogs tore it up. I filled a claim and the local post office rep contacted me via email. He claimed that the carrier did not notice my 3 dogs (who sleep by the gate BTW), the box debris in the yard (from a previously delivered FedEx package that my dogs got to as well), the fact that my gate is 8ft tall (not site who gave them permission to toss it over), nor the fact that the box had a message written on it that specifically stated to place the box in front of the gate (written in 1.5in tall letters, in heavy black marker). The local office concluded that since the message was no written in the same face as the label was attached and the carrier didnt notice the 3 any if the things previously mentioned, they were not at fault (as if the carriers wire horse blinds). Also, the item i received wass a lithium ion battery for my scooter. Had my dogs ingested the battery contents, they would have been extremely sick. I have since escalated the claim to the regional office and am waiting for them to contact me.

The USPS in Harlingen is terrible! Our postman cannot get out of his truck for anything. On 4 different occasions, we have been left package slips in the mailbox when we were home the entire day. All he would need to do is walk 4 yards and ring the door bell. Today I left a large package with postage beside the mailbox to go out and a smaller one in the box. The one in the box was taken but he could not step out of the truck and reach 2 feet to pick up the larger package. Unbelievable! I wonder why the USPS is loosing business? Probably because their work ethic is terrible and their employees are beyond lazy.

A terrible place with horrible customer service skills. The excuse mgmt gave over a month ago for not answering the phone was a new system was installed and they have yet to learn it. Still, no person answers phone. Slow learners maybe? Mgmt cares nothing about their job, only to get a check and to hell with customers is how they operate. Harlingen post office is the worst post office to ever attempt the serve the public. And the company I own spends over $2k per month in postage for over seven years with McAllen Business Mail Dept. They know how to run a business. Harlingen post office is pitiful.

Been trying to get a key for my mailbox for about 2 weeks now. My husband had horrible service from some rude lady when he went to ask what to do in order to get a key. He went today to get the key and guess what, the lady entered the information wrong so now we have to wait another week. They were even about to charge him AGAIN for a key that wasnt even made. Im beyond furious. We have statements and a package in our box that we cannot get because of their mistake. They did not even try to contact us to tell the information was wrong.

This isnt the first time Ive received bad customer service or the second or the third.. its been a handful of times and Im DONE! Your associates are beyond RUDE!!!!!! They dont even look at you when theyre talking. When you ask a question they act annoyed or inconvenienced like I should have already known the answer. This morning the female as soon as I walked up was just super rude! Ill never go back to this post office! And by the way its insane that I have to buy a $4 roll of tape to use maybe 6 inches of tape!

I just read four unfavorable reviews and want to balance this image of the Harlingen USPS a bit. I have lived here 1 1/2 years and have had nothing but amazing service with mail delivery. Our regular mailman is friendly, helpful, and will hand-deliver all items if he is walking to our door to place a large package. Also, I have only had positive experiences with the actual office--workers are helpful and kind even when my kids slow me down or mess with the displays. Overall, southern hospitality and service.

UPDATE : Clerks have been issuing receipts to customers featuring links to a survey reviewing the service they received. This, shortly after this review and a call to USPS regional office about my experience. Hopefully, this results in a new, albeit forced ethos of order at this venue. Otherwise, Rudy the clerk is arrogant and condescending .Clerks play dumb about specific information when asked. Five phone calls at different times and days resulted in no answer.

Packages sent through the Harlingen USPS should never be sent if fragile. I have had approx. 24 boxes sent to me there. All but one delivery arrived and was handed over completely crushed. Many were so destroyed that the boxes were open. When I ask staff, they usually shrug and say theres nothing they can do about it. None efforts are made to correct chronic problems.

I own a business and constantly have to ship items weekly and sometimes daily. I ship with all other shipping companies. These guys are pretty rude. They talk to you like your stupid and do not seem to be very happy with their job. I had a simple question about my package being lost in delivery and they did not seem to care much.

drove to Harlingen, TX post office on Sunday to get a flat rate envelope. Big post office building, but no supplies in site. Probably this area is high crime rate? I was in Colorado and there are flat rate envelopes available when the window is closed. Same in Wyoming- flat rate envelopes are available when the window is closed.

This is one place I wont mind seeing go out of business. Ive had multiple items straight up STOLEN from the Harlingen post office. Theyre rude, they expect you to fix the problems THEY create. I cant say enough. Dont use them. Pay the extra dollar to use Fed-Ex or UPS. Youll be much better off.

NEVERR give me my damn stuff on time!!! the tracking always telling me that its arrived and in my mailbox but nothing is ever there for another few days. LIKE WHYYYY DO YOU SUBMIT IT AS "ARRIVED" WHEN I DONT HAVE IT!!!! terrible service i swear yall need better employees or better service ...

They have lost three out of three packages Ive shipped with them this Christmas. Im heartbroken and sick to my stomach. 1 Hr hold times if I want to call customer service. Never will I ever ship anything USPS again. Hopefully, this failed program will soon become insolvent and disappear.

What a pathetic excuse of a post office. I wish the option to rate below 1 star were available bc Id rate a -10!!! The office says it opens at 8am yet for 30 mins i attempted to call only to be aggravated n annoyed that noone could answer the telephone.

Rude people who totally show their disdain for the public. Any request is returned with an attitude that youre completely inconveniencing their day. A prime example of Harlingen customer service starts and ends here.

Nobody ever answers the phone. Always busy signal or just rings forever. Whoever is in charge of this place is doing a terrible job.
