EDIT: From 1 star to 3 stars. Apparently there have been some changes for the better in terms of personnel at CBA. Time will tell. Im going to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again. They reached out and sought to remedy the previous oversights. I was highly impressed. ORIGINAL POST I was initially pleased with CBA. Excellent customer service in the form of efficient communication and courtesy rides when needed. At the time I would have given this establishment 5 stars. After 2+ years of using CBA, I have decided never to go there again. My saga involves three chapters. Chapter 1: About two years ago I drove a Mini Cooper. My first woes with the car began with an unresponsive ignition. I would turn the key 10+ times before the car would start. Eventually, it stopped starting altogether. Without belaboring this episode, I took my car in to CBA on three separate occasions. It would work for a week and then the issue would arise again. Inevitably, I took the Mini to the BMW dealership in the Woodlands and they solved my problem immediately. Chapter 2: Got married. Sold the Mini. Bought a CRV. Took the CRV in for a routine inspection. Part of the recommended service was to replace the air filter. Fine, not a big deal. However, they failed to secure the plastic cover to the filter resulting in an incomplete seal. At higher RPMs the fan would overwork resulting in worrisome levels of vibration in the car. Whats worse, this wasnt observed until my wife left for a long road trip the day after. Shes not very car savvy and had no idea what was going on. She was worried... but I was probably more so since thats my wife, and I didnt know if the car would remain functional for long! Not knowing what the problem might be I called CBA. They diagnosed the issue and I went to secure the air filter cover. Chapter 3: I decided to have CBA change my oil. How could you mess that up, right? No immediate issues until 5 months later when I take my car into the Honda dealership for an alignment and oil change. Apparently the technician at CBA used the wrong washer and had to over-torque the cap to the oil pan which stripped the threads!!! Honda gave me the option of tapping new threads or replacing the oilpan altogether. The former was the cheaper alternative at $200. I called CBA about this. They were polite as always, but failed to follow up with any sort of reimbursement or credit. Thus, my saga with Christian Brothers Automotive has ended. This is a shame, because they seemed like an upstanding establishment. Truthfully, their administration is top notch, but I wouldnt trust their technicians to unload my dishwasher without burning the house down.

I took my 2004 Sentra in for its 2015 annual inspection and I honestly had minor issues with the mechanical knowledge or price of parts (although the parts cost is definitely 40% - 50% higher than what you can find online). What I did have a huge problem with was the fact that my brake light switch just happen to go out while they did the inspection and work on my car. The car has about 60-70 thousand miles on it and is properly maintained. Even the fact that the switch just randomly went out isnt what upset me. Heres what did - I brought my husband in to assist me in speaking with the manager, since I felt that it was highly improbable that my switch would happen to malfunction during the service. The manager physically brought the switch to the service counter to demonstrate how it works, and did so as though we were both elementary school children. He literally stood there and clicked the switch on and off, whiled explaining that when it is compressed the brake lights turn on and when it isnt the lights turn off. I feel that it is valuable to note that both my husband and I are full-time ENGINEERS. I understand that equipment wears out over time and I really dont need an embarrassing demonstration to show how a simple electrical item functions. The condescending manner in which we were spoken to will assure that I will never service my car here again.

I brought my wifes car to this shop after it died on her on the beltway. After they had some time to run a diagnostic they got back to me. The service manager, clarence, suggested $908 of repairs. I asked him what was needed just to be able to get the car running so I could take from there to the dealership so I could trade it in. He told me $340 for a new distributor cap, rotor, wires and spark plugs. I did not want to pay that amount so I showed up with a truck and a trailer to take the car home. I walked into the bay to begin pushing the car to the trailer when the mechanic started the car and backed it out. I asked him how he got it running and he said there was just a bolt loose on the distributor cap. I got the car back home and checked it out with a knowledgable friend and he deemed that every one of the things suggested on the $900 bill was unnecessary. When I called back and spoke to Clarence about my suspicions, he said several times, " I am sorry you feel that way". This is the response I got from the guy that was in charge on site. I told him that he had most assuredly lost my business and anyone else that I knew that was seeking them out. So, I warn you. I have not been to any of the other locations so I cannot speak to their ethics. But from what I know I say this "Do not go to this particular location."

Well I went there Monday to have an inspection done and they said it would take 35 minutes, I thought this was great. They make you sign an agreement to pay the fee whether it passes or fails. It was only two years so I thought no problem. When it is complete they told me it failed because of the tint on the windows. State law requires that the tint can be no lower than 25%. I had my tint done at a company that installs tint everyday call Texan Auto Glass in Spring. I called thinking that they put the wrong tint on. CBA said that it was 23%. So on Wednesday I take it to TAG and they put thier meter on the glass and it shows either 25 or 26% everytime. I call CBA and Derek states to come back and he will work out the issue when I return. He also said that his car has illegal tint, so how does he have an inspection sticker? I return to his shop again on Friday and they put the meter on the window again and it keeps reading 23 or 24%. He then goes and gets the calibration piece that is rated for 20%. He slides it in the reader and it keeps reading 18, 19 or 20% which tells me that the tint reader there is inconsistant and that there is no way they can account for a one or two percent drift. I would highly recommend not going here, they just want your money and dont give a crap that they are wrong, wrong, wrong!

Took my daughters 2007 Impala to CBA for front brake repair and an oil change. After speaking to Derek, I agreed to an initial estimate of $280 for the services. After about an hour and a half, I received a phone call from Derek saying that they had found several other items that needed to be repaired and the estimate ballooned to $850! He informed me that one of my calipers was damaged beyond repair, and my rotors were worn beyond their useful life; with one rotor damaged by the caliper. I questioned Derek about the damage and how the technician came to find these issues and he got defensive...VERY DEFENSIVE! In a very rude manner, he questioned me and my knowledge of front brake repair. After hearing his questioning, I told him not to perform anymore work on my car, and that I would be there to pick it up in 30 minutes. I picked up the car, took it home, and repaired the brakes myself. Not to my surprise, the calipers were NOT damaged and the rotors, according to a local parts house, DID have useful life on them. In closing, Derek lied to me and tried to sell me services/products that my car didnt need. In my opinion, CBA acted fraudulently and anyone that goes there SHOULD get a second opinion for a costly repair. I definitely would NOT recommend CBA for any services.
