I visited Just Brakes on the 25th after calling multiple "shops" for estimates/quotes($99 with a coupon). When I first arrived, I couldnt find the representative I spoke with over the phone(Darrell). I walked around the shop looking for some assistance, and eventually found a group of men smoking in the back behind the store. One of the men, asked what I needed, so I asked for Darrell. Darrell is the shop manager, he already knew what I wanted, so he told someone to get right on it. I got there at 11:15 A.M. and didnt leave until 1:10 P.M. They let me walk around and even see the previous brakes on my vehicle before putting the new ones on. Darrell tried upselling me on the brakes I wanted before they put the new brakes on, I let him know I wanted what we spoke about over the phone. When the job was complete, I got in my car and drove back home. There was a banging noise coming from under the vehicle, but I figured it was dust or something on the rotors(via the internet). The noise kept getting worse, so I decided to take a look at the brakes. This was the day after Thanksgiving. I found that the top bolt connecting the caliper was loose enough for me to turn it and the bottom bolt was completely missing. You do the math. I drove the vehicle from Houston to Jasper for the holidays. I had to find the bolt to replace the bottom one, the day following Thanksgiving. I spoke with Darrell over the phone who first offered to reimburse the bolt. I just took the vehicle back today due to my schedule and they replaced the brake pads, which had a large groove going through the middle vertically. Most likely from hanging halfway from Which they did for free. He didnt reimburse the bolt, but offered me a free oil change. Needless to say if you hear a banging noise take your vehicle back immediately. Besides that they had great customer service and fixed the problem they created. Luckily the brake pads didnt fall off on the way to Jasper.

I have taken my Corolla to get the brakes replaced. I asked them to inspect the brakes and give the estimate. After waiting for 3-4 hours they came back and said, I needed to replace the pads, rotors, drums, nuts, bolts etc..,, Also they said the brake fluid needs to be flushed and some other work related to engine. I never asked them to check or authorized to inspect the engine.. Finally they gave me the quote for $1000.. I asked them to give my car back as I am not ready to spend $1000. They wouldnt give the car and kept on saying its unfit/unsafe to drive, we cant let you drive. Finally I agreed to change the rotors and drums as they dont give my car. I spent the same amount of money I would have spent at the dealer to get the brakes done. After changing the drums and rotors I took the vehicle for test drive. It sound so loud when I hit the brake and brakes are much worse. I told the same to the store manager. He was rude and said they are not responsible for the noise, because I didnt fix the recommended issues suggested by them. I was totally pissed off with their behavior. After driving for two days check engine light was on in the car and suddenly stopped on the highway. This time I took the car to the dealer; they thoroughly inspected the car and said someone had worked near the engine and purposefully put some debris near spark plug. I spent another $120 just to clear the debris. What kind of people put debris near engine??? Just Brakes people are horrible and dont let you drive out of their garage without any service. I would never recommend Just Brakes to anyone even if they do the service for free. They are not trustworthy!!!!

Terrible experience and I would never go back! I went there for brake sevices a weeks ago and 4 days later, my brakes and ABS light came on. When I took it back, there was only one technician there and he couldnt figure out the problem. So he called his District Manager, who said he was off the clock and at this daughters basketball game. He than called the store manager, Darrell he stated he didnt know what to do and couldnt help. The technician tried his best to help me without ANY assistance from his management. An hour later, the store closed and his District Manager called to ask for the store numbers. Btw, I was still there with no resolution to the problem. Although the District Manager stated he was off the clock, he still had time to call and ask for the store numbers and did not have any concerned about me the customer! Eventually, there wasnt any resolution to the problem they created, and the technician basically said he couldnt help me, I was forced to leave under those DANGEROUS conditions. The next day, I did not receive a follow up call, instead I had yo call them to see if they can fix what they created. Needless to say, I will NEVER use Just Brakes on Perry Rd again! FYI, this business had gone through different mangers and employees in 1 year, that in itself is a RED FLAG! Unprofessional, lack of experience, customer service, and poor management skills!!! Please save yourself and time and pick another shop.

My brakes were making some noise, but I was more concerned about my non-functioning brake light because I needed to get my vehicle inspection done. Since a thorough inspection would be about $30, I asked the tech if he could fix my light. He said something about pennypinching, then declined, saying that they dont service brake lights because although they are brake-related, its an electrical issue. So I thought it was kind of him to offer to replace the bulb if I went to AutoZone to buy a new one. Changing it was easy, I shouldve done it myself, but he had already removed some parts of my light so I had to go back. After the new bulb was in, I thought to give the man a tip for his troubles, since they dont service electrical parts but he did it anyway...but for some reason I said, thanks, how much do i owe you? He said $10. Sure, he changed a light bulb, but I had to drive out of my way to get it, then go back to just brakes to have the tech finish changing it. I mightve even tipped him $10 anyway, because he wasnt supposed to service me OR charge me for that, but I didnt feel like arguing. That kinda disgusted me, especially since the bulb was only $1.50, but I blame myself for even asking Just Brakes to fix my light. They really do care...about money.

Shop brake work with any automotive shop and compare and you will find that you are saving at least a $100 on a simple brake job. But lets face it, if you have a vehicle with close to 100k miles or more they are going to find more than that you imagined. if you can afford to take care of it then their pricing is still better than just about anyone else I checked. They gave me a thorough hands on explanation of parts and wear and I could see first hand they are right. I went from pads and rotor turning to rebuilding the calipers and getting new shocks and struts. But they showed me the wear on my tires (and at 250 a pop I decided to take care of those before I bought a new set) and I went behind all of their work and verified they were right about everything. Was it way more than I had hoped? Yes. But stuff wears out and when it needs to be taken care of, you can trust these guys and save a little money.
