Be careful some tricky things, a little lack of experience, or not carefully about what they do .... we scheduled with Roto-Rooter for a free diagnose and estimated, in the phone the lady told my wife " YES, everything for diagnose and estimated would be free", but actually it was not! and the job was not done by one guy but two tech.... the first tech came first ..he asked $270 for a diagnose only! My wife was shocked and refused, then he said how about $150, she refused again as she called earlier to another company for $49 , and then $50 he agreed ...he used his meter to test...and said it was not a big leaking, it was a type of moisture somewhere, a lot, from somewhere ,then he got on attic to check, my wife got on the ladder, and she found some water on the joint part of a pipe from AC... then the first guy even didnt look at it closely, he told my wife the issue was AC Pipe was full, it was Plug., needed to clean....... well, he said he couldnt fix as he only diagnose, he had no tool... then he called his company and found another guy, who would charge $310 to clean the AC pipe plug....but before the second guy came he called my wife, my wife told him in the phone that we had another company for only $ 165 to clean the AC Pipe/plug..... he said in the phone to my wife" we will see what we can do...." then a Second guy came, but he was not the guy in the phone, but he was a nice....he agreed to charge only $165... So, according to the first guys "diagnosed issue", he got on the attic, used the cable to clean...after the work, he found out everything in the pipe was fine! he told my wife it was not full , not a plug at all.....so he did for nothing..... mean while , my wife found that the Main vertical Pipe was dry inside, and there was no any sign that it has water full inside...neither any water came out from there, in other words, there is no Plug! !!! so the second guy did the clean for nothing !!! then He lifted the Pipe, in a second it was caught by my wife, that the joint of the pipe had a slow leaking and a drop of water down toward the outside of the Vertical pipe, dripped down to the ground by the side of the gap....so the second guy sealed the connection part, waited for 5 min.....but it was not working, still leaking ...then, it was nice of him, went to Lows to get a short new piece of pipe and joints...fixed it finally! it cost $ 167.50, and took him about 30 min to replace a small pipe .... So far we still dont know if this joint leak was the issue or not, but it was Nice of the Second Guy that took some time to figure out and fix the visible very slow joint leaking .....We are not trying to say the first tech was bad, at least he didnt do a better job, and he Gave a FALSE judgment after my wife found the water on the joints of the pipe....it cost an extra work.....and also it seems that their charge was so random, and there is no standard at all.......so be careful before you make a schedule with this company....things can be changed

When my hot water heater stopped working and the pilot light wouldnt light, I looked online to see who I could get to fix it. One of the best reviewed companies to fix it in my area was Roto Rooter. So I called and had someone scheduled to come out the next day. Unfortunately, there were too many calls and not enough technicians, so my appointment was pushed back two days. However, on Monday morning, Mike Harris (technician #2627) showed up and within 5 minutes had the pilot light lit. Mike immediately pointed out to me that there were several code violations that my home inspector failed to notice during the home buying process (no pan under the water heater; incorrect gas line; etc). And now that the water heater was on again, it began to make popping noises and didnt sound like it was operating very efficiently. Mike said that due to the previous home owners neglecting to do yearly maintenance on the water heater, sediment had built up on the bottom of the water heater and was causing it to work over time and to be very inefficient. After discussing it with my wife, we decided to get a new water heater, with the caveat that it would be installed that day. Mike said it would be installed with in an hour! Mike was able to install it in an hour, install new stainless steel water lines, install a proper gas line, install the drip pan under the water heater and a PVC spout line to direct any over flow out into the garage floor instead of into the home/drywall, and he installed a pressure relief valve PVC line (there was previously a relief valve line but it had been broken and was just dangling there). And once it was all done, we had hot water and my wife was happy! The next day we didnt have any hot water and I panicked. I went outside and noticed there was an ince of water surrounding the new water heater as well as water that overflowed down into the garage floor, via the PVC spout Mike installed. But before Mike left after installing the new water heater, he left his business card with his phone number saying to call at any time. I sent him a text explaining the situation and within 5 minutes he was at my house! He quickly fixed the problem and vacuumed up the excess water. He stayed for an extra hour to make sure that the water heater would cycle on and off properly and that we had plenty of hot water. Mike has gone above and beyond what was expected. Granted, the leak shouldnt have occurred but Mike corrected the mistake quickly and this morning my wife has hot water (happy wife/happy life). I would definitely recommend Mike and Roto Rooter.

I thought I had a toilet plugged up on Monday evening and tried to fix it myself with no luck. I did a Google search for local Houston plumbers in our area and had several to choose from. I read the reviews for each company and decided on Roto Rooter. I went to their web page and made my own appointment on-line for 0830 on Tuesday morning. The dispatcher called me at 0730 and confirmed my appointment and said the technician would be at my house on time and was already in my area. I asked if he could arrive early and Denton showed up at 0750 ready to work. I found out later that he lives in my area and was dispatched to me that morning. He showed up in a clean, crisp uniform and had the "Im ready to work" look on his face. Not like some that appear as if they just rolled out of bed. It was raining on this morning and he was careful coming into the house so not to track anything so he took off his boots and left them outside on the front porch. My wife really appreacited that (we didnt even have to ask!) Denton nailed the problem within five minutes and notified me that the clog was not in my toilet but in the pipe outside the house. He ran his camera in the pipes and showed me a crack under the slab where the drain pipe was cracked and separated. I recently had the house leveled and the problems started shortly thereafter. It was confirmed that my busted pipe was allowing water to seep under the slab and puddle up thereby causing even more damage and cracks in my patio. Denton explained what needed to be done and how long the job was from start to finish. He told me up front how much it would cost, we agreed the price was reasonable, signed his paperwork and he got to work. He called in his crew and had the problem fixed and the mess cleaned up all in one day. He did an excellent job for us. We are happy for the outstanding service Denton and Roto-Rooter provided. They are professional, have great customer service and are experienced technicians. Ill continue to be a repeat customer in the future. Did I mention that Im a retired Marine and although Denton was in the Air Force, I wont hold that against him. They trained him well and Id bet hes one of the best plumbers in Texas. Thank you for your service to this Great Nation Denton and thank you Roto-Rooter for hiring Vets. We need more companies like you. Semper Fi
