This gym is by far one of the most run down gyms I have ever been to. It is a sad thing that a company like 24 hour fitness would allow their name to be tarnished by the state of this facility. Most of the time a negative review is just an angry rant because someone was offended by a manager or had a bad experience. Unfortunately, every negative review on this page is absolutely correct in what they have said. 1) No lighting in the parking lot....there are light poles but zero lighting at night. People have been broken into and robbed in this parking lot. Security is not there and has been an issue for a while. 2) I have had no issues with the staff....mainly because I dont talk to them. I have read enough stuff about the staff to know I will get nowhere with them if I bring these issues to their attention. 3) Maintenance of the equipment here is also a big problem....good luck finding a fully functional cardio machine. I regularly have to check before I start working out to make sure the machine is safe for use. One machine has been "out of order" for well over a month. Another thing to note is that most of the cardio machines are pushing 10 years old. 4) I cannot speak for the Womens locker room but the mens locker room is in a state of partial disrepair. There are several lockers that are broken and rusted and the floor tiles are chipped and coming up in some areas. It is only a matter of time before someone slices their foot open. I cannot recommend this place to anyone with a Lifetime Fitness nearby, a Golds nearby and a Planet Fitness near by. Lifetime is going to be more pricey but it is worth the extra price in my opinion. Golds and Planet Fitness have similar pricing and are by far a better quality than this gym. The conditions here are worse than what I would expect from a club in a run down Eastern European town. Id give zero stars if possible.

I have been going to this gym for over 2 years now. I am a college student who is paying for my own education, and basically everything else I have. Therefor, I decided to get a membership here because the rates were a bit cheaper than lifetime fitness just down the road. Since I started here in march 2013, conditions have plummeted... Nearly all of the machines are in terrible disrepair (Broken seats/adjustments, plates on cable machines stick together, weight stickers are worn off so you have no idea what weight youre using, etc., etc.) and it seems like the management are in absolutely no hurry to fix them! Friends and I have reported these and many other problems and for the most part, they are either neglected for weeks or never fixed at all! Beyond this, The pool area is disgusting! tiles on the roof have large black patches of what I can only assume is mold or mildew! The hot tub always has dirt/sand/sediment LAYERED on the bottom of it! Both the pool and hot tub have nasty stains all over. The whole area is filled with gross calcium deposit looking stains which I guess wont hurt you but are a definite eye sore. The steam room smells AWFUL! about once every 6 months they will put a eucalyptus scent in, which improves the smell, but only for a short time. The floor in the pool area and steam room is very gross. There are many tiles missing and much of the grout is noticeably dirty, almost as if they never clean the floors. I am afraid to walk around in the area for fear of catching some sort of fungal infection on my feet.... seriously... In most cases you get what you pay for, but in this case, you get less. Maybe if this gym was renovated and improved, it would see more business and better sales. But for now, it looks like people are skipping over 24 hour fitness and looking for a gym that is not falling apart...

**UPDATE: since I posted my review 24 Hour Fitness has canceled my account I have used 24 Fitness in the past at other locations and I have had great experiences. Then I joined this one.... Complaint 1) The cardio machines are in desperate need of either repair or replacements. I would say half, a conservative estimate, are not functioning properly. Several have no battery backup which means if you stop even for a second your progress will be erased. Other machines will no longer allow you to adjust incline or resistance. Still other machines no longer allow smooth gliding movements, which can cause injury to anyone that uses them. You will spend between 3-5 minutes just finding a working machine as they also do NOT label the ones that are out of order. Complaint 2) Cleanliness or the lack thereof. Like I said I have worked out at other 24 locations, as well as other gyms. One of the common things you can see in any of them is a cleaning staff constantly keeping the machines and facilities sanitary. At this location you are more likely to pick up a microbe then see anyone on staff cleaning. Complaint 3) Apathy of management. The other day I complained to the manager on duty, that was after I interrupted him form his prolonged conversation with two other employees at the front counter. When I told him about the broken equipment he openly mocked me....yes you read that correctly. Sadly this apathy is probably the underlying reason for the majority of problems with this 24 House Fitness. When management could care less about the members then it filters down to the rest of the employees. Bottom line is if you are thinking about joining, DONT! You will pay a premium price for substandard services and equipment

As part of my New Years resolution to lose weight and get back in shape, I recently started going back to this club after being away for a year. I was shocked to see how badly things have deteriorated in that time. Signs of neglect are everywhere - Nearly half of the treadmills had "Out of Order" signs on them. Of the eight showers in the mens room, four of them have the handles missing or broken off. Only three or four of the hooks used to hang up your towel are still functional. The only thing keeping it alive are the good supply of free weights and weight machines. When you walk in, the first thing you see is four or five empty cubicles. It immediately gave me the impression that this club is in decline. A year ago, all of those cubicles were filled with employees. The Atascocita 24 Hour Fitness is in a prime location along busy FM 1960 with no other gyms or clubs nearby. There is no reason why this place should be doing so poorly. Its got the potential; it just needs better management. UPDATE - Since posting this review last month, I have to say that someone has taken notice. Almost all of the broken machines have been fixed, the towel hooks have been fixed and now all but one of the showers in the mens locker room actually work. So things ARE getting better.

People are complaining alot about this gym, so i have decided to give my review. First off, staff is nice, i find my self irritated at them at times, but they havent done anything wrong and always say hello/goodbye etc when leaving and arriving. Equipment seems in decent condition, all of it was working fine on my last visit and all equipment seems up to date and clean. Temperature of gym is fine, i would say its a good 72-74 degrees with a large 20 foot fan in the center, provides excellent air flow throughout workout area. I would say the locker rooms are decently clean, i dont feel like i will get athletes foot when i walk around, no trash on floors and lockers are clean inside. Pool area is clean also including steam room, sauna and hot tub. overall gym is clean, staff is polite, equipment is decent, and if you expect more than go join a resort club, like the houstonian, where they have towels, water, cafe, etc.
