When I first called Capital Care Plumbing, I told them honestly that I had been quoted $1,500+ from another company to replace my water heater (whose pilot light suddenly wouldnt stay lit). I think that price was shuffled along to the technician who came out because he said it would be $1,350 for a new water heater. Maybe it was the fact that Id been taking cold showers for a week, or that Id just spent a small fortune on a variety of other emergencies (the way Murphys Law tends to go), but the lovely plumber from Capital Care Plumbing must have read my resting you-know-what-face and said, "Or, we can fix it for $300." Ahhhhh, the sound of hot water in my future. Now this technician, Billy, was brutally honest. Fixing our ancient water heater would be a temporary solution, and no one can really guess how temporary it could be-- a year, a month, a week? But he was also absolutely confident that our 19-year old water heater could be fixed to produce hot water until it completely and utterly failed. (And we can now budget accordingly for this failure.) I took this gentleman up on his offer and as he descended my attic once more he told me that someone had disconnected the lighting mechanism from the on lever (Im paraphrasing since I am *not* a plumber and have no *idea* what words he used). That enamored me further. Id had another plumbing company come out just a DAY before and they had not mentioned this. Had they perpetrated it? Goodness only knows (my husband had also tried tinkering up there, so it could have been him as well). I just really appreciated Capital Care Plumbings candor. I will use Capital Care Plumbing in the future, and I will request Billy if hes available. He was delightfully frank and clearly experienced. Hopefully I wont call for another year or so, though, since Im hoping this ancient water heater can make it a little longer. *FYI: the EPA suggests that the average lifespan of a water heater is 10-12 years. Manufacturers and retailers suggest 6-8. Ours was installed in 1998. Go grandpa water heater! *PS: the reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I they are a little pricey (though reasonable), and charge a visit fee of about $20.

6/8 - Price quoted was fair, not the cheapest, not the most expensive. No hidden charges (membership fees for programs etc..). Billy and Mike did a good job.-- UPDATE 6/9, smelled gas in the house(no pipe dope maybe, or not screwed in tight?), shut-down the gas line and gave them a call on the 24x7 line. Tech said installer would come back out. Nobody called back. Texted the tech and he said he was in a mud pit and could come tonight or in the morning (told him morning was fine) 6/10 morning - Texted tech, told him wed be home until 11:30a- asked when wed be home in the afternoon. Told him 3:30p- tech said to reach out when home and hed head this way. 6/10 afternoon, texted tech, were home, no response. Texted 1.5 hours later, asked for an ETA. No response. 6/10 evening, called the 24x7 number told them whats going on, said a tech would reach out. Answering service reached back out after an hour asked if heard from a tech.. so far nope. 6/10 Finally Meghan who was awesome reached out to try to get to the bottom of things and assured me I would be taken care of. Someone should be here tonight. Probably 9/9:30. Meghan gets 5 stars, sorry she had to get involved on her weekend! Bumping back up to 4 stars as they must be having a bad weekend and I have a feeling this isnt typical based on the other reviews. 6/11 Gas leak still there. texted tech and Meghan with a picture of the gas leak (soapy bubbles). Called the 24x7 line, hold for ten minutes but they finally answered. Tech sent a note would be here in an hour (10:30am) 6/11 Tech arrive, replaced pipe with bad thread between gas line and water heater. Everything is now great! 6/13 Had a nice chat with the owner, following up to find out what the heck was going on all weekend. He was apologetic, and I knew from the other feedback he gave, he absolutely cares about customer service and wanted the story so he can make improvements to the business. I actually would do business with them again.

FAST GREAT SERVICE!!! EVEN AFTER HOURS! We had a plumbing emergency after hours. 9:00 PM. My husband had attempted to fix our water inlet valves under our kitchen sink after I discovered they were leaking when our old faucet started to leak and was going to install a new one. I have terminal cancer and am undergoing chemo. I am very weak. i was once this strong little handy girl that can do home repairs, build rooms, sheds, decks, patio covers, plumbing electrical, landscaping, etc. Now can hardly walk. I turned off the water main and took out our old faucet. That wore me out. It took me 2 hours. RESTED. Another 2 hours to put in the new faucet except for the water lines. Had my husband pick up 2 new water inlet valves and he said he would do it. Mind you this man has never done a home repair in his life. I got under there showed him how to do it. He said I can do that. I left the room came back and he was doing it wrong and had got the compression rings messed up. He said it was ok. I said it is going to leak, then what ever he turns on the water main....FLOOD CITY. I called Capital Care Plumbing. Very nice quick Answering Service. They sent Aaron Reinhard, A Master Plumber. He called and asked my husband to take a picture to see if he had what he needed on his truck. He was here in less than 30 minutes. We live in Katy. He had the job all done in less than 30 minutes and even put in our new soap dispenser and hose weight that came with our new faucet. Great fellow. BEST PLUMBER EVER! I will recommend him to all my neighbors and friend. I asked for some of his cards. He even gave me magnets. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

One does not necessarily learn the quality of a company when everything goes right. In my case I experienced Capital Plumbings excellent customer service when something went wrong. I had Capital come out to snake our clogged kitchen sink drain. During the process the snake broke. Four days later I noticed water under the kitchen cabinets. The broken snake had damaged the PVC drain pipe and the leaking water had gotten into the drywall and the foot plate of the of the cabinet. I called Capital and explained the situation. They had a plumber come out immediately and fixed the broken pipe. Capital took full responsibility for the water damage and immediately began the process, using a reputable water damage company, of fixing the water damage, with all that entailed. James, the owner of Capital, was in daily communication with me asking me how things were going. In the end everything was fixed as good as new. I am extremely satisfied with the customer service attention I received. Mistakes happen. It is how a company handles a mistake that illuminates the true quality of a company and Capital shined in that aspect. I am now looking to replace my two water heaters and I am having Capital come out to make that assessment. I highly recommend them. Five stars!
