I took my car into Just Brakes off of FM 157 in Mansfield TX to have them fix my axle around 1:30 p.m. on 4/18/2015. I was expecting to hear a call back from them before they closed in regards to when they were done and when I would be able to come by and get my car. I call around 7:15, because I didnt hear back from them, and come to find out they had closed. No one called to inform me that they were going to keep my car overnight, which had put a HUGE, and I MEAN HUGE dent on my plans for the rest of the night and tomorrow. Out of respect and courtesy, they should have informed me. BETTER YET, out of correct business practices and customer service, they should have informed me. Im already upset with the company from the first time I brought my car in. I came in to have a noise fixed, was told it was my wheel bearing, got it fixed. When the manager gave me back my car, there were 3 lights that were on. I told him there were no lights on when I brought it in, I expect there not to be any lights out when I get it back. His response was that he cant control when lights go on, and that it would cost me an addition $130 to get it fixed. Then, four days later (which is now) the same noises that brought me in the first time brought me in today. I asked him to take another look, because those noises from the first time had come back. He then tells me it is my axle, and the wheel bearing on the other side now. So, he expects me to drop another $600 to fix that too. Over $1,000 in a week for my car?! I DONT THINK SO.

Called to get the price for replacing brake pads on all four wheels. They said it would be $190. After Charles Johnson got a look at it, he determined only the rear two needed replacing, but it would be $259.99. But my rear passenger side pads were wearing unevenly, due to worn caliper that needs replacing. That bumped the price to $530 because they had to replace both sides, not just the one side that was worn even though the other side was fine. Told them I needed a minute, went to call a friend about advice. Came back, Charles said his machine was showing that it would only be $480 now. Regretfully, I went ahead and signed to let them do it. They said it would be up to 4 hours. Called them 3 hours later to check on the status because I hadnt heard from them, and my car had been ready. Looked at the invoice, and they didnt replace my caliper, they only "rebuilt" it. One of them. Charged me 2 labor hours at $89/hour to rebuild the calipers. Plus the parts and all that. Not a big deal, but the price came up as $530. Turns out Charles added $32.11 for "shop parts used" which coincidentally brought the price back to his original quote of $530. So far there havent been problems with my brakes, but I definitely would not recommend taking your money and car here unless you dont care about getting a good value and dealing with honest people.

So I went in for an oil change. I would gave done it myself but with working long over night hours its hard. First thing, it took and hour and a half.... For an oil change. I use to work on cars and my bosses would have ripped me a new one for that. Then they told me I needed a power steering flush even though I had done it less than 3000 miles ago. They said 2500 worth of work to my truck, once again with my working in shops I know how the business works and they over charge like a mother. Dont go here, I highly recommend walnut creek auto in Mansfield for anything. Oh, and 42 for a conventional oil change?? I wasnt even told the price till he had my card in his hand. I wasnt even given options on oil. Customer service sucks, dont go here. I use to work for just brakes and was held to higher standards than what this location is held to, once again DO NOT GO HERE!!

Just dont. I service all our vehicles. This month I just didnt have time to look at my wife Lexus to change out the pads. Their $99 brake job seemed ideal. Once my wife was in the store the $99 advertised offer was obviously a ploy to get you in the store and start emptying your wallet. A simple brake job escalated in to needing struts, fluid flushing, and a host of other unnecessary work. With the offer of a $1,200 repair (see how quickly that escalated), we opted not to have the extra and unnecessary work done. I had the vehicle up on my 4 post lift this morning to compare their list of required work against what was really needed. You guessed it, it was not needed. Unless you have deep pockets, like to swap parts to help service writers make their quota, and get a warm fuzzy feeling from being ripped off, then stay away, stay well away...

Lies and trickery. I asked for the Premium which is advertised as $199. I knew I needed new rotars and was told they were $100 each. The total was $399. I said ok. When it came time to pick up they said that the rotors are $150. I complained and was advised that the person who gave the estimate was a technician and should not have given me an estimate. I told them to put my crappy brakes back on. When I got there, the manager lied again. I contacted a different Just Brakes (5 miles away). I was advised they were running a $50 off special and rotates are $85 each. So this Just Brakes is $200 more than the store down the street. The manager could not explain the price difference.

I was very impressed with the staff here. My Nissan dealership told me I needed completely new brakes for $199. I went to Just Brakes with a $50 off coupon. They informed me at JB that Nissan was really quoting only doing the front brakes and not all 4 like they would do. They then inspected my car and told me that I did not need new brakes at all. That they were in good shape and should last me much longer. I was impressed that they turned down taking money from me by telling me the truth. It is rare to see that in business today. Some of the guys in the shop came in the office to tell me the same thing. They were all very nice. I would definitely recommend this place.

Ironic that I used them a year ago and then exactly a year later I have issues on the same area they worked on. But my warranty was up two days ago and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Two whole days. I guess they forgot people work. I understand maybe if it was a week, but seriously. The same area. And there was nothing they could do. I even asked if they could give me a discount because a Kwik Kar quoted me about $100 less than they were trying to charge me when I walked in and they said no. Will never use this company again.

Maybe when "Tim" at this location was there, things were managed well...however, now Charles is in charge and I had a horrible experience. I agree with jr, the workmanship was fine, but I left feeling taken advantage of and Charles was impossible to talk with. He was rude, spoke over me, and was extremely condescending. There prices were only $5 less than what the dealership quoted me when it was all said and done. The warranty is a wash if you dont perform their recommended services...which in my case were unecessary. Very disappointing.
