By Far the best locksmith in town. Cant say enough about Donny. I showed up 1 minute to closing and he, on his own time, programmed my key for me. And it was a pain in the ask, ask Donny. Seriously, the staff is super nice I was there 4 times to try to get one key made but it was the internet seller kept sending me the wrong key. Donny said "we could cut one out of mine and program, and it would be like $80, but If I ruin this chip its going to be $200. I bought the shell casings for the remote, he just needed a censor out of a regular key. So even though we are now at 6:30, hes already been off for half an hour and really willing to make sure things get done right. And its not only just Donny. Im fairly certain Donny is the General Manager (at least he holds himself that way). The other employees seemed eager to help anyone, and every time I walked through the door it was like Ci Cis pizza; "Buy, thanks! Come again." So instead of sending me on my way, like most people would do, he decided to program one of his keys to see if it worked and it did. So now we have a sensor that we know if good. We just need the right FOB to load it into. It turns out Toyota make 3,23 million different kinds of FOB for a 2010 Toyota corolla. So we sat there tried each one, got one hit, tried it again, got on hit and that was it! Now all he had to do was cut the key, and we were ready to go. By this time it was 6:45 going on 7. I told Donny multiple times I can come back in the morning and I had no clue they closed at 6, and he was persistent to get it finished. And I think he is the manager so I seriously doubt he punches a clock. I think he just generally help people out. And the key programming was only $79.99 for my 2010 corolla. If you dont have a key with a chip in it its going to be a bit more expensive but whats the price to pay on a broken off key ignition (ask Donn...he does that too,) what happens if you forgot your password to your safe, dont worry Donny does that too. I know youre probably asking yourself is there anything Donny wouldnt do? Well when it comes to his business the answer is "No." He is a true professional You know thee keys with the big black rubber on the key, those keys have transponder keys. They are the only ones that will start the car. And A-1 has all the keys you could ever need.Trust me Ive looked all over, this is the best place to get your transponder keys cut. The guarantee their work. since I had already bought the parts. This will be my locksmith for as long as Live in Plano. They are courteous, friendly, and professional. Thanks again Donny for helping with my corolla last night.

Dont believe the slogan that a tech is on his way in 15 minutes. I called to have my car unlocked and the agent taking my call said it would take 10 - 15 minutes to put the call into the system and sign it to a tech. This was acceptable and understandable. However, when I called an HOUR later to see if everything was ok, the agent said that they didnt assign it to the tech until 45 minutes after my call but that the tech was 8 miles away and was just finishing up a job. Another 30 minutes go by and I call to see where the tech is, and the agent said he is on his way. Then ANOTHER 30 minutes go by before I hear from the tech that he is getting close. When the tech got there, Lonnie (Tech #249) was every nice and understanding. However, he mentioned that he didnt get assigned the job until after an hour from my call. Then he reported that he wasnt just 8 miles away. He was over 20 miles and that is why it took him so long. I understand this was not his fault and I am not upset with his performace. What does bother me is that, I am a single parent that had 2 small children with me whinning and getting tired of standing outside for 2 hours and also that my mother was in town and was supposed to leave that night but couldnt since my apartment keys where with my car keys. Instead, she had to get up extrememly early the next day to drive 2 hours home before work. I was lied to each time I called (which was 5-6 times) about the location on the tech. Is it too hard to just tell me the truth and let me decide if I want to find another solution or wait?? Then when I asked for a discount for all of the inconvenience, I was told the best they could do was give me 10% or not have my car unlocked. I am not trying to get out of paying for a service but how about a little compassion? The techs knowledge and professionalism was top notch but the customer service in the main office was definitely sub par. Be careful when using this company and if you decide to, make sure you have 2 hours to wait just like I had to.

I made an appointment from 1-3 pm and they did not show up. Sometimes jobs could be delayed, so I understand if there is a delay. But in that case, they shouldve called me as a courtesy to let me know about the delay. Instead, nobody give me the update unless I called them. When I first called them, they said that technician will still be here before 3. And I called them again at 3 because nobody showed up, they didnt even apologize and one of their managers attitude was terrible when I made a complaint. He said someone will be there in 25-30 minutes and sounds like why this is big deal. I am a lawyer and it is a big deal for me waste my valuable time. Horrible company!!! ###answer for below response: No, you guys didnt show up at all! At least if you showed up at 3pm, I wouldnt leave negative review. I called and was told that you will be arrived after 3:30pm. So I cancelled the service and left at 3pm. That is why you cant see the job invoice on your system because I couldnt get your service. I understand that the job could be delayed. The real issue here is that you guys didnt let me know in advance for delay. If you cant meet the job window, you should have called customer to let us know. Also, I called and asked for explanation, the manager there was very rude and had horrible attitude instead of apologize. That is why I upset, not just for your lateness.

I needed to have a key made for my 2011 Nisan Altima, this is the smart key with push button start. First I contacted both Nissan dealerships in North Dallas and was told the price would be 350 dollars per key. This floored me and I knew their had to be a better way. I found a used key on eBay for 20 dollars and looked for a locksmith that had the special type of machine to program it. I came across A1 locksmith in Plano and they quoted me a price over the phone of 85 dollars. I drove straight over and the gentleman behind the counter was very polite and had no issues with me bringing in my own key. I handed over both my working key, and my blank one and he had them programmed, tested, and me out the door in 10 minutes. Great service and a much better price than the Stealer-ship.
