We went to World Car KIA on Fredericksburg Rd after having a horrible experience at Ancira KIA on Bandera Rd. As we drove in I noticed an Optima in a dark red color I’ve always wanted parked in front of their building. As we looked at the car a young lady named Kelsey Powell greeted us and was so eager to help us but all I could think of was what now? What is this salesperson going to try and trick us into or lie to us and I’m sure she doesnt care and just wants to sell. I wasn’t very pleasant to her and I apologized, briefly explaining what happened and where we were coming from and she wasn’t discouraged one bit. She showed genuine concern at what we had just gone through and made sure we were aware that her goal was to help us and make this experience a better one. She said it so confidently that I believed her and she wasn’t kidding, she really was determined to help us somehow. Initially, I did not trust her and her friendliness nor would I uncross my arms for awhile and I told my husband he’d have to answer her questions even though the vehicle was for me. I was annoyed because all the research we had done was for small SUV’s and had decided on a Sportage and not on sedans so I felt unprepared. Kelsey took the time to listen to us and we felt no pressure whatsoever. I will be honest and say that my first impression of this young lady turned me off as she was just too friendly and accommodating so I thought for sure we would be let down. Nope. Kelsey was a blessing. She was very professional and very knowledgeable about the vehicle and when she wasn’t sure about something she did not make something up but rather reached out to her coworkers or tried to figure it together with us in the vehicle. I appreciate it when someone admits they don’t know something but are eager to try and find the answer and Kelsey showed initiative from the beginning. We took the Optima for a test drive and while I was still feeling disappointed that I wasn’t getting a Sportage, I recalled that when I bought my 2012 Hyundai, I originally wanted to buy the Optima but it was out of my budget at that time. Kelsey understood that my heart was set on a Sportage but she helped me to realize that the features I liked in the Sportage were actually the same features in the Optima. When I was concerned about the trunk space because what I liked about the Sportage was that I didn’t have to bend Kelsey was not deterred and showed me that it was roomy enough to not have to bend so much and how much trunk space it had by literally getting into the trunk herself! She showed us how roomy the trunk was and the safety feature on how to get out of it God forbid we ended up locked in the trunk. Kelsey was so personable, down to earth, with a great sense of humor, knowledgeable and not afraid to get down and dirty to show us the Optima’s features and to squash any of our concerns and absolutely no pressure sales. They offered me a better deal including the trade-in value for my Hyundai than Ancira KIA. Every single person we encountered at this dealership led to a pleasant experience. They are all professional and personable and not stuffy and I would recommend anyone looking to purchase a vehicle to come to World Car KIA on Fredericksburg Rd and ask for Kelsey Powell. The three others that helped us were Mary Flores (Certified Sales Consultant), John Blaylock (Sales Manager) and Nick (Finance Manager). Oh and the Service Department is great too. We met the people working there and they are all friendly folks. Thank you Kelsey and World Car KIA for making what started off as a disappointing experience into a blessing. 7/20 is our wedding anniversary and now 7/21 is also a happy day because I bought the car that I had wanted 4 years ago from a most deserving hard working sales person. I’m so thankful now for that horrible experience at Ancira because it led us to the right place, World Car KIA and the right person, Kelsey Powell. We are truly grateful that we met you Kelsey! God bless you.

If I could give the Service Department 0 stars, I would be inclined. I bought a Kia Sorento from World Car Kia 1 year ago and it came with 2 years free maintenance when using the service department on Fredericksburg Rd. Since purchasing my vehicle, World Car had been the only service department to service my vehicle until August. In June, I went in for an oil change and in late July, noticed oil all over my moms drive way after driving to Lubbock. I called roadside assistance and had my vehicle towed to the Kia Dealership in Lubbock where they took photos, wrote a detailed report, and notified me that the last time my oil was changed, the oil pan screw was not screwed on all of the way and while driving, the screw slowly worked its way off enough that I had a passive oil leak. Thankfully, my engine was fine but I had to pay for an oil change in Lubbock as well as the underside of my vehicle to be degreased. I called the Service Manager, Gilbert Pena, and left him a detailed voicemail on 08/09 and never received a call back. On 08/26, I emailed him and finally received a response on 08/29 stating that he had given full authorization to take care of me to a senior service consultant and that he would be in contact with me. I emailed Mr. Pena back on 08/31 letting Mr. Pena know that I had not been contacted, and on 09/08, Mr. Bryant, the senior service consultant, finally contacted me and spoke to my husband where he implied that there was no way this could be their fault, but stated we would receive a phone call the next day. Go figure, we didnt, and when I went in for an oil change on 09/14, I requested to speak to Mr. Bryant. He said that I would hear from him the next week on what they would be able to do for me. I never received a phone call and it is now 10/17. All my husband and I are asking for is reimbursement for the oil change and degreasing needed after their department unintentionally made a mistake that cost us money. The lack of customer service we have received is unacceptable and after having plans to purchase another car from the dealership, our minds have changed. I will be finding out who Mr. Pena manager is and taking it above them as they are obviously unable to take care of their customers.

First off I am not one to write reviews often but I noticed that the overall review for World Car was a average 2.5 stars as of the time I write this. Having had the experiences I have had, I feel compelled to take the time out of my schedule to write this review. I purchased my vehicle from another dealer in Austin, Tx thou I lived here in San Antonio. I wanted to find a Kia dealer here locally that I could start building a relationship with involving the routine service department. Usually the best relationships come from the dealer you purchased the vehicle from which I didnt in this case. I have only brought my car to this establishment 3 times for oil changes and a Kia recall. Every time, whether by appointment or walk-in, I was confronted immediately and by a courteous staff. My turnaround times have been surprisingly fast for a dealership, as if they were a fast lube. I have no complaints and have had nothing but a pleasant experience with every visit. Considering my honest review, I would normally only give 4 stars (Liked It) for the reasons mentioned above. The reason I give 5 stars (Loved It) is because I have had followup calls about 2-3 days after my services to see how everything was and if it was to my satisfactory. I think that is great business ethics because if there were to be any issues I probably wouldnt recognize them until a day or 2 later and by World Car calling me, that says they back and are proud of there work. I feel I come first with them and if I am forced to do routine maintenance to keep my car running, I now know where I will take it. I trust them. Reason being is because I have a more than average knowledge when it comes to diagnosing car problems and issues and use that as a basis of whether a place is trying to "screw" me or not. I play dumb and let them tell me the issues and their recommendations to see if they support what I already know. Every time they have given great feedback. I would recommend finding a specific service rep and building your report/relationship with them for every service you have. My reps name is Gill and I trust him. Thats hard to get from me and I would recommend World Cars service department to any person young or old, regardless of your knowledge of cars.
