SO....I went in skeptical with this place....Last year I went in to get a brake job on my SUV and ended up with a $700 bill. This is after they told me that it would only be $300 originally...Me being a woman of very minimal knowledge of car repair did not realize at what extent i had been raked over the coals.....So im in the same vehicle, and my a/c is broken...i take it back in yesterday to find out how much its going to cost me to get it fixed....Scott clearly wanted me to leave it there and give him time with my vehicle, and when i insisted on waiting he seemed almost agitated. And even told me " well it sounds like electrical problems so it will probably take 2 hours or so..." I told him that was fine, and he took off out of the office. Approx 30min later he comes back into the office and tells me the my Valve Gasket is leaking oil on the alternator and the compressor and has caused the compressor to go out completely. He told me the i would need to replace the entire valve gasket and the compressor....and to do so he wanted to charge me $900 for a compressor kit, which i found online myself for MY make and model for $321...he wanted to charge me $324 to remove and replace this compressor kit, then an additional $79.99 to recharge the coolant on a brand new compressor...He also wanted to charge me $88.91 for a valve gasket kit, that again i found online for $13.91 and charge me $320 to remove and replace that as well....so basically the bill came to a whooping $1,896....i politely took the copy he made me for with the quote and left...all over his waiting room are pics of bible quotes and christianity symbols...and he smiled sweetly at me as he basically tried to financially rape me....this guy is a bad bad person and i will never do business with him again....unfortunately for him im not the stupid woman he thought i was....good luck!

They did good with taking my car and fixing the problem but they will take your money and not think twice. Unless you bring up that parts are actually cheaper than they are selling them to you, they wont tell you. Oh and if you try to bring it up you get a sarcastic remark and then they pretend to care. Sorry gentleman that runs the place but its not good for business. Thats why people miss your shop. I am very thankful for the mechanic that actually worked on my car (he did great)! However, they dont tell you whats more economical they just tell you it has to be done and then give you a look like you need to do it. Im not a push over, but it would be good know that there are still honest and good mechanics who run a good business. This is just to vent, take your cars there if you want. People obviously like this place because they put up cards on their door to the shop. I just didnt have a very good experience.

The mechanics are honest and easy to talk with when you have a question but dont expect anything to get done quickly. Posted time to open on the internet is 730 am... Lets say more like 9, or whenever the one maybe two mechanics decide to show up for work. To be honest, waiting an hour and a half for a simple oil change when there is an open bay, Its called "Multitasking". Should you choose to stay and wait for your car to be eventually taken care of youll have to sit in the small front desk area, which smells like an old musty room with a slight wet dog scent. Yes, youll have a lot of time to sit there and question why youre there. Two stars for friendly service and doing the job correctly.

Chose this place because of the coupon I got in the mail. I made a reservation to have my front brakes replaced a week in advance. It took over 4 hours to do this job that would have taken most shops under an hour. I spent half my day here for a simple job! And it wasnt just me - the girl before me spent 2 hours before they even diagnosed her brake problem. While I was waiting, I overheard the manager talking about all the personnel problems theyve been having, too. Ive been to many places in San Marcos and this was my worst experience. Ill never come back.

Used to go here for all repairs but never EVER going back after my recent experience with new manager. Tried to charge me an insane amount because I am a young woman with no car experience. Luckily my brother who is a technician stopped me from making a horrible decision and wasting about $1200 on a problem that could be fixed for $300 or less. I am so pissed at being treated this way. I am a mom with bills of my own. Dishonesty is sickening and will do nothing but bring you negative karma! May great spirit bless you with compassion.

Well sorry about the confusion but have two names this one but the one I used is Michael white and I was coming into San Marcos and my cars lights were flickering from park to drive when I had it in drive and plus could not take the key out of the ignition that was the main problem because of the sensor not picking it up when it was in park it would not allow me to take it out so I called these guys up and they helped me out a ton Scott and his son are great at what they do and helped me getting back to Corpus Christi thanks guys !

Im a michigan boy passing through staying in Austin when engine light came on. Scott and Will (father and son) were honest and forthright. Being an out of towner Scott could have taken advantage of the moment and my experience is that could have degenerated quickly. Straight shooters was my experience. Salt of the earth types that are upfront. They have a business to run but if I ever need a honest opinion of whats wrong with my truck they (Scott and Will) have earned first right to refusal. Thanks guys!

Stay far away from Meineke- owner is a crooked, rude old man with no superiors. He started my car too soon, overheated it and melting my piston and piston rings & made me pay for them. Had to replace my head gasket twice because he didnt know what he was doing. Very rude. Yelled at me when I requested compensation for his badly done work and told me I should be grateful he even looked at the car at all. Stay away. Bad service, bad manager, bad employees.

The service there was crappy the guy that worked the front desk just walked off when we were next in line and once he got back it was like 10 min later then we gave him our information. He says it was a 30 to 45 min wait tops... It took him 2 hours until he took the car!!!! Then it took him almost another hour just to do a simple 10 min oil change and we were losing our patients of that place and we will never go back to that place ever

Great service and very nice job. I went there to repair my cars AC. Truly it took a couple of hours for waiting and checking, because I was not the first in the queue. The mechanic was so kind that he gave me a ride back and picked me up when my car get fixed. And the charge is fair enough. The honest man said he would help if he can do. I think he did what he said.
