Saw an ad through the mail, saw they had good reviews and decided to give them a shot. I shouldnt have. If I could give no stars I would. When we set up the walk-through to get a quote, the rep seemed knowledgeable and answered all my questions. We stated that certain big pieces were to be loaded on to a personal trailer for long-term storage and that I still would like them wrapped to offer more protection from the elements. Being in the military and moving multiple times including an oversea move, I expected this move which was an in-town move to go quickly and smoothly. It did not. We had packed most of our belongings already, however, when the crew of 5 showed up only 1 spoke clear English and most spoke NO English. How are you to communicate effectively what you are needing? Our personal trailer was packed hugely inefficiently, we had been able to fit 1/2 our house on to it in our move down, however, by the time they were done, they stated they couldnt get all the large pieces we wanted into it (even though we had already done so before). They were also asking if they could have items from the house, some of which never made it to our home, despite making it onto their truck (stolen?), HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL! We had to have them store the truck for a few days because construction at the new place wasnt complete yet. As construction is wrapping up and we are slowly getting more things put away, we are noticing more "lost" times, including a handgun and military momentos. We are hoping they manage to still turn up, and if they do this will be edited. I would not recommend this company AT ALL given current circumstances.

We recently used this company for a move into temporary housing during a renovation, then into our home after the renovation was complete. The first part of the move, was ok--they were understaffed and it took them well over 12 hours to load and unload the truck (the move was 1 mile away). The second part of the move was far worse. They showed up with 3 people and one truck, again understaffed. They had to call another truck in and I had to help load. The guys two days to load the truck and another three days to deliver our property from Dallas to Waco--it should have been done in one day. When our stuff arrived, only three guys were there to unload two trucks. One of the guys spent most of the day sitting on the back end of one of the trucks while I helped the other two unload. We ended up having a dozen or so items damaged--bikes, washing machine, book shelf, bakers rack, etc. I took pictures of everything that was damaged as it came off the truck. Filed the claim form within the time frame and waited and waited. This was June. I called like clockwork every few weeks to check in. The employees I talked to were very nice, sharing that they were closing the Dallas office and that "the lawyers" had to review the claims. They told me they passed my messages off to the owner and I never got a response. Even after submitting a claim to the BBB, Blue Ox has not responded to my claim. We spent over $5000 with them. I would not recommend using them. They will take your money and damage your property.

Lets be realistic. Major moves will never quite go smoothly---some thing is bound to be broken, some things wont go as planned. But, when the moving company and a customer are willing to genuinely discuss and work through issues, a lot can be accomplished and the customer can walk away feeling that he or she was dealt with fairly and in an honest fashion. I dont feel this was the case with Blue Ox---at all. In my opinion, the crew members worked hard and were courteous, but many things just were not properly wrapped and boxed. More than just a handful of things were damaged. We later learned that they also moved everything to a new truck at their warehouse, which I imagine resulted in yet even more damage to our stuff and why several boxes never even got delivered to us. In the end, Blue Ox denied our claim to take care of the damaged items, disavowing any responsibility whatsoever (turns out the additional coverage they sold us for damage and loss was administered by them and not by a reputable third party---not exactly an objective way to resolve disputes). Given all this, why would I rate Blue Ox with 2 stars instead of 1? Im thankful for what was not damaged and, after all, life moves on......(most certainly with a different mover the next time).

They have contacted me twice in the past month for a review. They did my move last year and I was frustrated and annoyed with them but I let it go. They really should have let it go too. Here is what I sent to them. Joe,You do NOT want me to give you my honest feedback. My movers left me with a feeling of frustration and being taken advantage of.I have made many moves and had many different movers and yours were the worst by far. They took what should have been less than 3 hours of moving and somehow stretched it out to 6.5.Your employee who came to give me the estimate was of the opinion that hourly would be cheaper than a fixed rate because neither of us could see any way the move would take more than 3 hours. Suffice it to say apparently he did NOT know the moving crew you sent to me.There was a total of less than 300 feet difference from my original location (on a second floor) to the new one (on a first floor). I could have hired three college kids for a couple of pizzas but instead was charged over $1100 by your company.I have and will continue to tell anybody who asks to NEVER use your company.I was just going to let it go but you have now asked for my review twice within the past week. Bad Idea. Now that Ive written it Im going to post it.

Packing up was slow and guys were on their cell phones a lot and then wanted to charge us by the hour. After speaking to management, our cost was reduced to a fair charge. While our stuff was in storage, which was local when we signed up...the local office was closed and our things moved several hours away. No one told us.Our move out of storage was quoted up front but then when we were ready, the cost was going to 2 1/2 times as much. Thankfully I has saved the original email and it was honored at original quote. We had a few things scratched and broken, our leather dining chairs were wrapped so securely, a week later, the dents and wrinkles are finally beginning to pop out. Overall, it was a better experience than a military PCS move but we encountered a few roadblocks along the way. Management took care to straightened things out and listen to our concerns and that goes along way.The movers who brought our stuff back were a different crew and worked non stop and efficient, they were well mannered and respectful.
