The people at the branch are really nice and helpful. And we find USPS to be fairly reliable in other places weve lived. But here in Layton, hardly a week passes without receiving our neighbors mail, or them receiving ours, or having tracked packages marked as delivered when nothing is received. Who knows what may or may not get forwarded to us, or what just gets thrown away. Most recently, we waited all day for a time-sensitive package, expected by noon. We received notification via text at 4:50 PM that our package had been left on our porch (in snowy weather). We were present at the time, but no usual barking dog, no doorbell ring, no footprints, and checking our security cameras, sure enough, no delivery was made. Perhaps a neighbor has it, or its the next street over, or someone just didnt want to get out in the snow. Whether through carelessness or apathy, it is a consistent and ongoing problem. UPS and FedEx always seem to get here, and on time. Layton USPS delivery however, is pretty much taking a chance, and too often results in loss. If you are sending anything of importance to Layton Utah, youre better off using another delivery service.

Me and my wife have been moved and have changed our address with the post office for over a week. The initial encounter with the USPS Employee was pleasant, but after that it has been frustrating. Due to the apartment complex, keys have to be changed and given (due to the move). No one can give us a time on when to pick the keys up, and when they do, they repeat "The keys are not done, they should be done tomorrow about 4. Call xxx-xxx-xxxx to confirm they are done next time." Weve called dozens of time with no answer, and the 2 times USPS have answered, The lady was lazy and rude. The answering machine isnt set up. There is a complete lack of professionalism and common courtesy involved. WORST experience ever. (Also, LONG waits no matter what time you go). A note for the staff: If you dont like your job, quit. There are plenty of people willing to work harder and do a better job than whats being done. Follow your passions, because clearly, helping people at the post office isnt it. Willing to retract comment if we get some help... the pleasant kind.

I am very disappointed in this post office. They have lost several packages of mine over this past year. They just tell you to wait and be patient for days even if the item is of extreme importance and shipped priority 1 or 2 day shipping. Ive even had some heat sensitive that they could careless about being sure it was retrieved in the proper condition and temperature. I understand people make mistakes but how consistently Im missing packages is concerning and after several complaints Ive had along with many of my neighbors experiencing the same frequency of missing items as me, its super disappointing nothing has been done to try to correct the problem from within the post office with their employees. Its always just an excuse of why somethings missing instead of accountability. Super frustrating, disappointing, and exhausting to have to deal with.

We were 5 minutes late for our appointment for passports because we got lost finding the post office and they were EXTREMELY rude to us. Told us they didnt have enough time to process it (no one else was there and it took less than 10 minutes.) Then a month after submitting our passports we get a letter in the mail saying our passports could not be processed because the person at the post office was an unauthorized passport agent. We had to go back to the post office to sort out the whole mess. No apologies at all. They of course blamed it on someone in San Francisco - never taking any accountability for anything! I could careless if they do away with the postal service all together after this. Praying the passports come before our scheduled trip

The lady working at the layton post office today at 3:20PM (1.24.17) was extremely rude. She seemed very put out that instead of dropping my packages off I needed to get a receipt for them, at one point, muttering under her breath that "Im running out of time". Then there were two packages that were 2 oz. heavier than what my original calculations were and she made me pay over $4 a piece for the difference. I was absolutely amazed. Ive been sending packages regularly for 20 years using UPS and have never had that issue before. Knowing full well that a package weight could easily have a discrepancy within that range is disgusting because Ive never been refunded for a lower estimate. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Absolutely worst Post Office Ive ever used. I have to use it, because my mail comes through there. The employees are slow, lazy, and ineffective. Its the first post office Ive used, where they make you pick up your mail after vacation, they dont leave it in your mailbox. Ive gone at 8am during the week, at 1 pm during the week, and on saturday mornings and it doesnt matter. There is always a long line and lack of customer service. Yesterday and today there were no customs forms on the counter, so I had to the line twice, once to pay and the other to get the customs forms "stamped". A total waste of time. I dread going in there. If this is an example of the quality of employees that the USPS hires, no wonder USPS is broke.

Wow just went there sept 9th at 9am. The older woman behind the counter ignored me for 2 minutes while I akwardly stood . When I asked her if there was somebody around that could help me she said "what do you want???" Wow!!! please greet someone or ask them if they need help? What I want is for you not to be a snotty b$@!h and do your job. I was almost wondering if they were closed because I was being so ignored !wow where has customer service gone these days !! I have never been treated so rudely. Maybe the Postal Service should not hire people who cannot figure out how to interact with other people to work their front offices I ended up going to another post office because I was so shocked!

Worst service Ive ever seen! I told them my mail keeps getting returned and the ones that do get through end up in my neighbors boxes. My new debit card and the pin to that account was left out on top of the community mail boxes for half the day before I got there. When I called to complain to have them solve this problem, the "supervisor" explained that she knows the guy that delivers my mail, and cant see him doing that for several months now. Ive been here a year now, my mail is still being rejected, and Im told by several companies they are sending me things, but I never see them. I hate this post office, i cant wait to move out of there area.

I Dont know my floaters Schedule or if that is the Issue or what, but is it very disturbing to get guaranteed delivery verified and E-mailed to me by shipper, just to find that my local mail delivery person decided not to deliver the mail that day to my drop site. I talk to may neighbors and there are 2 drops sites. Mine is missed and skipped all the time the other site for my community is tied to a local business and is never skipped. I see the dates on my mail when it is delivered and obviously my carrier picks and chooses when and when not to deliver to my drop site.
