In the fall of 2009, we took our car to Midas to be inspected, it failed for a list of things a few of which were actual problems those were fixed and we took it back it still failed. We took it to another shop and they passed, because the other failures werent required to pass safety or emissions. Just recently starting in 11/2011, we took our van in to Midas to get inspected(thinking the first time with the car was a fluke), the van failed for about 7 different things. Their estimate to repair it all totaled up to be $2,000. One of the failures was an assembly needing to be replaced and parts within the assembly needed to be replaced. Well, if you buy/replace the assembly wouldnt all the parts within have been replaced? Turned out only the parts within needed replacing. We made most of the repairs ourselves(being capable of doing such repairs), having them do the repairs would have cost $2000. We saved $1500, and thats with having a 2nd shop replace a part(we bought ourselves brand new), the 2nd shop charged $90, from Midas would have been $150. The 2nd shop replaced that part and I had them check the assembly part Midas said needed to be replaced(after we replaced the parts within), they said that only thing wrong was a tear in the boot that covers a seal, which needs to be replaced, but not necessary (specifics said on that part in the online manual, to advise on such a problem) to pass Utah Safety Inspection. After having that done at the 2nd shop, we took the van to Midas for a 3rd inspection, still did not pass, they said it was broken on the assembly and the whole thing needed replacing now! No more than 30 minutes from the other shop assessment, and Midas said the assembly was broken and needs replacing. A 3rd failure! Later that day, we took the van to a 3rd auto shop, and it finally passed with the same comment made as the 2nd shop for the assembly. WE WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO MIDAS IN ROY!!! EVER!!! Looking at these 5 reviews(6 as soon as I publish), 2 absolute negative reviews with in 4 months (3 within 5) should be a clue that THIS Midas location is not trustworthy, or reliable in their assessments and other such things. The positive ones dont have much if any information as to why it was so well liked. PLEASE, do not take your car there!! Go somewhere else! Also, on the response to Terrys review, your hourly labor rate is $89.99 (says on your price bored for a full hour) how is it that half an hour costs more than half of the full hour? It says $49.95, and half of $89.99 is (do you math!) $44.99 (not a big difference but ever little bit adds up, and $5 is $5 especially in this economy). Certified technician work is not free, and I dont expect that cause NOTHING IS FREE(my 6yr old knows that) but customers should feel like they are getting ripped off in price, or in work that doesnt need to be done to pass safety inspections and emissions testing! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

By far worst experience Ive ever had if I could do 0 stars I would! 3 weeks ago I get my brakes and rotars changed out. He told me oh no more then an hour and a half. I sat and waited for over 5 hours! Most unprofessional type of business Ive ever seen! The mechanics were very unprofessional. They moved as slow as they could. What takes 5 hours to do brakes and rotars? Oh, but wait they gave me a free oil change, so I decided what the hell it cant be too long for that oh no. The guy with the beard oh well have you out in 45 to an hour. They didnt even get my car in the bay for over 2 hours then about 30 min to change my oil. Then he comes in well youre ready to go? Im like uh wait you didnt even ask if I wanted convententional oil or synthetic? Hes like well youre Mustang gt doesnt need synthetic...... Im like uh thats what I want though. Hes so mad that he walks into the garage slams the door behind him and says oh now he wants synthetic! Im like are you kidding me right now? What a dick! So he changes it charges me 40 bucks cause i had that free oil change coupon but I guess it doesnt count for synthetic. Overall worst company to ever come to. Most unprofessional mechanics Ive ever seen. Yet my car is now finished but theyre all standing around talking before getting me outta here. This place is a freaking joke. No one I mean no one Id ever suggest come here! Ive never had an experience like this in my life! Not one but 2 horrifying experiences in a row? Not just a coincidence. Theyre just bad. Hire a new staff!

Dishonest and crooked. Buyer beware. My story is far too long to be put into a review. To sum it up: they replaced an expensive part that I later found out did not need replacement, sold me two expired tires, kept my car over night after telling me it would be finished within two hours (they apologized for having to do that, but didn't solve the extreme inconvenience it caused), THEY FAILED TO FIXED THE ACTUAL PROBLEM, they attempted to sell me $600 worth of other work that was later confirmed to me to be unnecessary by two other mechanics from two separate services, and then charged me $79.00 more than what was quoted to me originally, stating that the part costed them more than what they thought. Well itI would've been nice toto know thatwhat's prior to doing the work. Tom, the manager (who I caught in a lie, making for a very awkward moment), says it was just a series of unfortunate events. COMPLETELY FALSE. Turns out that they did almost the exact same thing to my neighbors. They told us an earily similar story. People, PLEASE reconsider going to this Midas...FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, I promise.

I have be honest, when big Tom retired, I was going to take my business elsewhere. The kid was a punk and they were open all hours gouging the owner I would guess. In comes this Dennis fellow. Smells like a cigarette factory in a old fashioned garage, shoots straight with you. I LOVE THAT! Super deal on a serpentine belt. Now I need routine maintenance on my Honda Odyssey Touring Limited Edition, my baby.... he comes in far and away the best price, and says hell do it himself! He knows how I am with my car, and with my wifes, ah, its plain Jane Toyota Corolla. He doesnt have to make me feel important or smart, or even like a friend doing me a special deal, but he does, and he does it in a way that makes me feel important, and I go to that Midas because I trust HIM! HE IS THE REASON I GO TO MIDAS, not the dealership, besides Jill at the honda service department was promoted downtown Salt Lake I guess. DENNIS IS GOOD, just not as sexy......

I had a problem with my 2001 Jeep Cherokee after another shop changed the fuel pump for me. I was having a check engine light and gas fumes in my jeep after I would fill it up. I repeatedly took it back to the other shop that did the maintenance and they didnt correct the problem. I took it to Dennis at Midas on Roy on April 4th and they not only found the problem, but I havent had an issues since. I was very pleased with Midas in Roy and the new manager Dennis. He and his technicians will go out of their way to help you as best as they can. I recommend them to anyone having car trouble, they will inspect the problem for you for free and give suggestions on how to fix it if you choose too. They do not force anything upon the customer, you can tell them if you want to have the work done or not. They have great customer service.
